I was able to buy a kilo of this YAKON at the Salo Tabo at the Capitol grounds a week ago. This fruit is grown under the ground and is known for its many health benefits.. We have been eating this fruit since it was introduced by one of the BAEs or the Lady Chieftain in one of the tribal groups in the region. My mom works at the NCIP and is also a part of the many indigenous peoples of the country. My mom, my sisters and I are proud descendants of the Manobo tribe from Agusan del Norte.. It's knowing your roots that you get the advantage of knowing healthy and nutritious foodies that only grows in the hinterlands..
Look at the fruit when peeled.. It's oh so YUMMY! And healthy too!
