Throw a Children’s Birthday Party – And Don’t Lose Your Mind

When your little one is still little enough to let you take the reins and throw him or her a wonderful birthday party with games, decorations, sweets and lots of friends, it can be easy to get lost in the details and end up going, well, a little crazy. Personalised invitations and party favors that the kids can’t wait to play with are just a few ways to make your child’s celebration one for ages; here are some tips for making it fabulous and free from stress.

Be Accommodating
Unfortunately, people forget to RSVP and then might show up and drop off their kids anyway. Keep your cool, by first making it easy to let you know in the first place. Since even senior citizens are texting with ease these days, let the other parents know on the invitations that they can shoot you a text or an email if it’s most convenient for them. Then, even though you haven’t heard from five parents, plan for those kids being there anyway. Worst-case scenario, they don’t show up and your child can take their goody bags to them at school.

Enlist Help
You might have attempted these shindigs all on your own in the past, but this time, enlist help from your spouse, friends or relatives, both in planning and on the actual day. Your parents, in-laws or closest pals will probably be more than happy to lend a hand, provided you ask well in advance, whether it’s giving Grandma some great gift ideas and some cash and having her do the present shopping or asking your best friend to help plant clues around the backyard for a scavenger hunt.

Put a Price on It
Is there anything you wouldn’t do to see your little one’s face light up on his or her birthday? Hopefully, going into serious debt is one. Set a budget and stick to it, because nothing will kill your enjoyment of the day like dread for the upcoming credit card bill.

Too Early for Christmas List

Looks like someone is already making her long Christmas list and planet waves from musicians friend is one of them. I am not even done with the checklist for the opening of classes but the kiddies are already busy preparing their Christmas related lists---- food, gifts, toys, candies and even places they wanna see by December. I guess we should also list down specific budget per list, hahahahaha...

Well, why not? It's fun to be kids and that will not last a lifetime, only memories do...

hmmm

Last week, while I waited for Lili to finish her session at her violin school, I saw a little kid waiting for his turn for some guitar lessons. Of course, tiny as he was, you can not expect him on a les paul guitar at Guitar Center now, but some more years or so, the kid will surely fit the picture. Just the same with Lili's violin, which is a standard. I knew perfectly that the said size will fit her well at this age already. So I didn't have to spend extra for smaller ones..

Modern Casseroles & Coffee Makers

There have been many advances in modern cookware – just when you think you've seen it all, someone will invent a new cooking device that makes standards like trusty casseroles feel like old news. The reality is that if you are a typical cook and the primary person responsible for daily meal preparation in your home, time-saving devices are a must but anything gimmicky is really not helpful. Many of the fancy specialty appliances take so much time to set up and clean that they really don’t save any time at all.

The one exception is the single serve or on demand coffee maker. No doubt you make coffee every day and it can be a hassle – the scooping and measuring of coffee, the flimsy filters and the messy coffee grounds are just the beginning; brewing a whole pot often means there is leftover coffee plus it’s easy to forget and let it sit on the warming tray too long, only to face disastrous results.

With an on demand coffee maker you brew one cup at a time; the coffee brews directly into a cup, mug or glass so there is no coffee pot to clean and no warming tray to scorch the coffee. The coffee comes in individually sealed coffee packets so you no longer need to scoop or measure coffee or deal with messy coffee grounds. To brew coffee you simply place your cup under the brewing port, select a coffee insert and press a button – in under a minute you have a fresh, hot and flavorful cup of coffee with no cleanup required.
On demand pod or disc coffee makers look like conventional electric drop coffee makers and take up the same or less counter space; they require access to an electrical outlet.

Thought for the Day:

Stretch...

It's the third day of our training. I love the fact that we are given speakers who can fully deliver the mission for which the training is intended. I especially like our boss, she is a great speaker who can capture her audience, as much as fully explain the needed data, that sitting for hours may seem to be bearable. But of course, there are times that I wish for yoga mats with matching loose outfit for some yoga stretching. I guess with this thought, I need to find yoga sandals too.

Anyway, I am waiting for the talk to start, so I have the time for this post..
