Misua for the Rainy Day..

For these two memes, my entry would be: Misua or Miswa in Bisaya.. We usually cook Misua or Miswa during rainy days.. It is actually a Chinese delicacy where thin rice noodles are used to cook into soup.. You either saute minced pork or tuna flakes with onions and garlic in a little oil before adding in water to boil, add the rice noodles and then simmer..

I love making Misua every time Lili asks me to do so because when it's raining, and she asks for this, I know she will be eating a lot.. And I like that because sometimes Lili is a picky eater..

Should you wait for your kids to be sent to alcohol rehab treatment centers or join the Alcoholics Anonymous? A lot of children, even at a very early age of thirteen or twelve, already know how to smoke and drink. Some even go off their limits to explore what they should not explore and end up becoming teen age mothers or teen age fathers.. And why are these things happening? Surely, these are not of their choosing.. It's safe to say that they just made bad decisions, made friends with those who have influenced them badly, or negatively.. But is it really something to blame others for? Is it something that parents should not be blamed for as well? Or the community where these kids belong to?

Blaming is not a good thing. And before anything worse could happen, it is everyone's duty to direct kids into the path of positivity.. The path where they can grow and learn.. Perhaps, direct them in such way that they will not feel being imposed to embrace something that is yet alien to them. And most importantly, since they are yet in the learning phase, guide them, and NOT criticize and judge them according to the norms that one has embraced.. Perhaps many of us can be guilty about this.. You see, it is not only children who feel the need to compromise if not to submit at times.. But when things go out of hand, instead of compromising or submitting, kids begin to do what they were told not to do, to rebel and even get even with those who hurt them.. And when that happens, can we blame anyone else? Surely, grown-ups leave a mark, a distinct mark on every child we meet.. They are after all empty slates that get shaped by their experience, as much as the persons they have met along the way.. Some made them great, others broke their spirits that they grow up broken and helpless, yet in defense, act as if they can destroy anything in the world.. And to survive, they just have to what they think can help them--- regardless of how good or bad that is..

DFAT 2011 Freebies

Below are the freebies we got during the Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2011..
Of course, there was the official DFAT 2011 tee shirt and the badge for identification. Then we were given two bottles of Sarangani Bay Milkfish in oil, regular and spicy flavor respectively..  And of course, the hand made wristlet made from recycled products from another sponsor..
Of course, a choice between the two mosquito repellents. I chose the cream than the spray because I find that cream is better than spray. But both are actually nice smelling..
And of course, for extra baggage and stuff, we were given bags and notepads by GeiserMaclang.. I will have separate posts for each freebie in another blog.. In the meantime, this post is my entry for Green Monday. If you wish to read more about this meme, click on the badge above..

The Amazing Bird Show

On our third day of DFAT 2011, we visited the Malagos Garden Resort and watched The Amazing Bird Show.. It was really fun watching the birds play their roles in their natural habitat as directed and choreographed by Dr. Bo, the narrator of said show..

The show centered on conservation of the environment and gave emphasis to four laws:

Craving---

Fries and a Sundae.. that's what I am craving at this very minute. Now that I am back in the island, it will be difficult to have my cravings satisfied as there are not any McDonalds, Jollibee or any fast-food chains here that Lili and I love so much.. Well, it will be a healthier stoppage, if that's what it will do..  A friend of mine told me recently that too much fries can cause nodular acne.. Plus of course, fries can contribute much to obesity..  Talk about the oil when fries are deep fried-- thinking about the grease brings shivers to my spine.. Oh well, this is just a craving after all.. No need to panic, looking at the photo above will not kill me, lol..

No Smoking! So Do Not Smoke!

That banner upon entrance to Katibasawan Falls says that it is a smoke free area, is not at all respected by some people who go there.. A particular tourist was chain smoking at the water falls itself.. That is what I do not like about other Filipinos. They never seem to respect the rules in a particular place....

Thank God Lappy's Safe...

I have deleted a friend's blog from my blogroll because I was cautioned that it is a site that contains malware and may harm my computer should I continue.. Scary and of course, getting a virus from opening its link is quite damaging... So yeah, I did it to protect my laptop as I was opening my own site..

I think it is always a great idea to have protection as you run your computer. That way, you will never get any problem in the future....

The Games..

The summer sports league have been successful, and mind you, even if we are two blocks away, we can still hear the goings-on at the gym. I think they use really sharp surround speakers that they not only broadcast within the gymnasium, but also within its reach and capacity.. That way, we do not have to be at the gym to witness the games, and cheer on. At least we can finish our tasks and continue with what we are doing, and still be able to cheer for our favorite players..

I wonder how much the municipality have paid for such equipment.. I think it is a good buy..

Saving Up..

Today I read about saving with the use of a fuel doctor.. I do not have my own car, but since my father has been having difficulty with his three vehicles, I have found it a good idea to keep updated about cars and autos, which may be beneficial for him.. And at this point in the history of fuel and how it has risen in the past weeks, I am sure that all of the motorists are also in for more information about anything related with fuel savers and how to save fuel... Believe me, even non vehicle owners are into this information these days.. Of course, it greatly affects the majority...

Anyway, I read that using fuel doctor, racing cars get really long mileage and the cars perform better on track.. I think that is the reason why Fuel Doctor is known among racers and even ordinary motorists.. It's how they help cars function, be it on safe roads, off road, and even on race tracks..  After all, using Fuel Doctors have their benefits. The use of a fuel saver increases a vehicle’s miles per gallon (MPG) with its power conditioning of a vehicle’s electrical systems. The said conditioned and clean power, then, allows the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU), as well as fuel injection and engine timing equipment to operate better. As the engine runs more efficiently, less fuel is required, thus, exhaust emissions (reduced CO2) is reduced.

What do you think?
