Mortgage and More...

Mortgage and More Blog is a very interesting site. Generally, it tackles issues on mortage and other business related deals. From the defined issues of mortgage to the extraordinary niceties and necessities, name it, it's there...

From gift cards to phone cards, housing and house plants and housewarming deals. Everything seems to be quite organized there. I simply love the color yellow. It brings life to the blog...

The topics and issues are well thought of and the trivias are amazing... I simply love the entire blog... Thanks much and continue sharing...Congratulations...

“My first Sony experience is with my Sony Trinitron"

I was twenty one when I graduated from college. By May 1997, I started working at the National Food Authority in Cebu. My first job was not glamorous nor did it allow me to have a good take home pay as I was simply a trainee for the Clerk III position. The contract I signed was under the job order contract and of course, that explains everything. While in Cebu, I lived with my Aunt Carrie and every afternoon we would spend time watching television for our favorite soaps and game shows. Then one day, I had a different assignment which led me to decide, in order to save time and energy, to move out of her place and find my own place to stay which is near the office in Banilad. Since my aunt's place is in Labangon, it was really tasking and I always ended up late in the office. When I moved, my aunt told me that she will be buying a new television set and that, she was selling her old one. Right at that moment, I told her I would buy it from her. Knowing that my aunt takes care of her things well, I was assured that it was a good buy for a very small amount. It was almost like she gave it to me. So there it was, my very first SONY Trinitron. The first ever appliance that I was able to buy with my hard earned money. It was not brand new but the thought of it makes me happy till today.

With it I have attached a great deal of history and lots of memories. My first boyfriend and I had our first kiss in front of that television, while watching a horror flick, lol... And of course, when we broke up, my Sony Trinitron was my sole companion and confidante. I thought my life was over, but my sole companion kept me sane and solid, until the day I recuperated from the said heart break. When I decided to come home to Cagayan de Oro, my Sony Trinitron came with me and stayed in my room. Work allowed me to go places and since I cannot and did not want to take her with me for practical reasons, I ended up buying a new set and selling it before deciding to come home again. So far, she is the only one I have not parted with, eleven years and counting...Up until today, she sits while I pour out my creative juices and sentiments into my blogs. She is still working well, so might as well keep her in the best shape. Lili, my three year old daughter, loves her too, as she watches her favorite shows on my Sony Trinitron...It definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First Noise Canceling Notebook Computer: VAIO T Series, which helps me do my blogging, PTCs, surveys and all other online work, even in the busiest, noisiest public place.

BBW Personal Diary

I came upon a blog, BBW personal diary. It's an online diary of sorts and in it I find many interesting things that go on in the blogger's EXTRA ORDINARY life... I think the blog is a good avenue for her to vent out her emotions, all the experiences and her outlook in life. I guess, if you try to read her posts, you will get a clearer picture of who she really is... She talkes about the good and the not so good, about weight problems and what people think about it. She gives outrageous commentaries to life basing on how she perceives everyday happenings. I find the blog funny and liberating... You GO Girl! Congratulations for such wonderful blog...and thank you for sharing it to the world...

Give an iPod for Christmas...

As we count the days towards the holidays, we can't help but further think of the necessary and the unnecessary expenses. Of course, gifts are out of the question during the holidays. It has become a necessary unnecessary necessity... hmmm... is that logical or what? Well, it depends on who you are buying the gifts for, who you are giving them to, and for what purpose.

In the Filipino tradition, gift giving is a symbol not only of love and respect for the receiver, but also a statement of one's personality. Take for example my friend Lily, whose fondness for her secretary is personified when she bought her an iPod nano. The secretary, being elated by such wonderful present from her employer, bought Lily a replacement of her lost iPod Touch...lol, kinda like an exchange of iPods there, don't you think? hehehehe...well, why not? The iPod is one of the world's most popular music and video players, and iPods now offer great features and storage memory. That's the reason why more and more people would like to get one for themselves or writing them down in their wish list for Christmas... hmmm, I guess that includes me...lol...

In the spirit of gift giving, gift ideas often are the expressions of one's creativity, budget and fondness for the recipient. Now, if in case you are also looking for iPods to give as gifts for this holiday season, why not visit this website I discovered, http://www.savebuckets.com. So far, it can be likened to a "price comparison site", in the sense that all possible prices and brand names of iPods can be found. One can readily market his or her choice and match it according to style and budget. So what are you waiting for? Visit their site now. To do that, click here.

THUNDER....

Today, as I was leaving the school, I felt my heart pounding. I did not want to leave....I told my kids I needed to do some very important things. And they understood....(I THINK). I will surely miss all of them. The studious and the not so studious. The problematic and the happy kids alike. So I opted to take pictures and made memory with them through the souvenir pictures below:

My second year A all sang the song THUNDER...when I finally bid them goodbye, I felt tears falling...I walked faster but they followed me... my God, I thought it will be easy to let them go--- I will surely miss all of them... I already said that, didn't I? Yeah, I will... Gee Ann's loudness, and Doyog's need for TLC, lol... of course this is the class that i always scold, almost everyday that I am in school...I saw them differently today...They thanked me, as if I have given them something valuable to learn...did I? I hope I did...I hope I have given them enough...I hope they listened enough too... I saw them as I see my own Lili...the kids that touch your heart because when you look at them, they need you to give them direction and love...Just like what Kristine said, every kid has his or her own story, and whatever my kids' stories are, I was blessed to be with them even for just a short while...I pray that all of them will make it to where their spirits want to soar...My last words, as I remember correctly, "Guys, 10 years from now, I want to see you make it..." That's when I turned towards the door and tried walking faster than all of them. In my heart I whispered a prayer..."Lord, you know how much I wanted to stay for these kids, but this is just the end of my rope...I have given all I could,..please, please, give these kids the wisdom to walk on the right path...and continue to bless their parents and my colleagues, the persons who will guide them to that direction...I love these kids Lord, please bless them now as I leave them. Help them make every step a success...Amen."

~~~THUNDER~~~
Today is a winding road that's taking me
to places that I didn't want to go
Whoa (whoa, whoa, whoa)
Today in the blink of an eye
I'm holding on to something
and I do not know why I tried
I tried to read between the lines
I tried to look in your eyes
I want a simple explanation
For what I'm feeling inside
I gotta find a way out
Maybe there's a way out
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder
Today is a winding road
Tell me where to start
and tell me something I don't know
Whoa (whoa, whoa, whoa)
Today I'm on my own
I can't move a muscle
and I can't pick up the phone
I don't know
(I don't know, I don't know, I don't know)
And now I'm itching for the tall grass
And longing for the breeze
I need to step outside
Just to see if I can breathe
I gotta find a way out
Maybe theres a way out
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
Yeah I'm walking on a tight rope
I'm wrapped up in vines
I think we'll make it out
But you just gotta give me time
Strike me down with lightning
Let me feel you in my veins
I wanna let you know
how much I feel your pain
Today is a winding road
that's taking me to places
that I didn't want to go
Whoa
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder, and I said
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
Oh baby bring on the pain
And listen to the thunder
Where do Bloggers and Advertisers Meet?
What is the latest craze at this point in time? What are people doing online most of the time now? And why do some people quit working to stay at home to sit in front of their computers? The answer? The times are changing so fast that people focus on bloggers and advertising for marketing products and services. People, or "the bloggers" do most of the marketing by writing reviews and write ups, creating a buzz for new products and businesses, while the advertisers hire the bloggers and pay them a great deal of money for the said marketing strategy. Now, how do bloggers earn their money or where do they go to get themselves hired? The answer is simple, simply google the key words "make money by blogging" or simply "blog marketing", or "advertising on blogs" and you will be led to many companies that help bloggers earn their bread and butter online. Getting paid to blog seems to be the most beneficial and more relaxed way of earning a living. For others, it will just be means to earn the extra needed for other things. But the point is, sponsored reviews pay a great deal of money to afford bloggers the luxury of spending more leisure time at home and more money while doing so.
To be particular about this, let me share with you what I have discovered. It's a site that deals with this certain topic am discussing here. If you log on and go to www.payingpost.com, you will see that there are a lot of opportunities from PayingPost.com, if you wish to know more about the company, read their blogs.
Blog advertising network
With PayingPost.com, OPPORTUNITY CREATION FEE IS 50% LESS COMPARED WITH THEIR COMPETITORS...how does that sound? Bloggers will get most of the fee for their hard earned labor that way unlike its competitors who get most of the fee and cuts off the blogger whenever they feel like doing so... Anyway, feel free to visit their website here.
HISTORY AT BRIGHTSTORM
Sign up for a free brightstorm account and get a promotional code to enroll in one of their online courses for FREE. I am serious.... I have just signed up and currently, I am taking up US History: The Foundation of Your Rights, that's a $49.00 Value, lol... As a history teacher, I find that presentations of the different topics are well planned and exciting. A good take into a subject or course that is always branded to be boring. The videos are clear and the person on them, is also good in the topic he is discussing. This is definitely a high tech way of presenting the course in History.
This promo is actually brought to us by Brightstorm, an online school catering to the high schoolers. Courses ranging from Mathematics, Geometry, History, Writing and even SAT Reviews for SAT Subjects. Educational effectiveness is the key to learning, and based on the course I am on, Brightstorm has it. How would you rate educational effectiveness? Simple, when the topics are easy to "digest" and has an easy recall for important matters within the topic. In terms of value, funness and the professionalism of the content, well it's unbelievably better than how some teachers I know would present their topics in class, lol....
Signing up for a free account that gives you access to a free episode in every course is easy, simply visit their website, sign up and experience the Brightstorm fun and learning for yourselves...
CORRECT POSTURE & CARPAL TUNNEL
When I was still in the Call/contact Center industry, from the agent position up until I got my Quality Assurance Post, my work involved the use of computers. Now that I am into the blogging business, my work is centered on the use of the computer. A friend of mine sent me this in my email. Thought I should share it here. Me and my blogging pals could use the info.
Correct Postures
Here are some correct postures which should be used while using a computer to reduce stress and other ill effects.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Manual Therapy Exercises for relief from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
While you are receiving treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The following exercises may be prescribed by your health care provider in conjunction with Low Level Laser therapy. In the photos you will see below, the right wrist is the one being exercised. If your left wrist is affected, do the same exercises with the left hand.
When doing each of these exercises, the hand should be flexed until a sensation of stretching is felt in the arm. The position should be held for 10 to 15 seconds for each of 10 repetitions. Try to this set of exercises three times a day.
Exercises 1 and 2 flex and ex! tend the hand and stretch the wrist. Bend the hand as shown in the pho tos and apply moderate pressure to it with the other hand.
So there went my 1000 EC, lol
I remember one time while I was reading through the blog of Entrecard and my attention was caught by a blog that talked about sponsorships. I guess I did not read the post very well. Excited, I readily and automatically clicked on a few things which later ended up with me donating 1000 ECs... I was thinking they were for Entrecard. But as I was looking for my ad, I couldn't find it. Silly me. I thought I was advertising for the Entrecard blog. I was actually donating them for a contest. I only realize this now after I am complying with a new contest I am joining... I saw that I was a sponsor for a contest and I couldn't help but laugh at myself... I didn't even know what that contest was about till now.. Silly me... lol...
MY FLAT BELLY GOAL...
When I was in college and up until the time I gave birth, my friends and classmates say I am so confident. I have always been chubby but I have never had a problem with my belly. Most of the people I know call me "TAMSY" or "Tambok nga Sexy", lol but now, I guess they can all go and call me "TUMMY" because of the fact that my tummy has no longer given my breasts their amazing wonders, lol... Seriously, it was on the second month after giving birth that I experienced the feeling that my tummy problem is hopeless. So I ignored it until today. I discovered the Flat Belly Diet.
Fbd
The Flat Belly Diet is one that will change the history of diets. So what is this diet all about? Well, it is a science-based solution that combines a nutrition plan with expert tips and advice developed by the editor of Prevention Magazine, and is centered around a new research that discovered eating healthy fats, which is known as Monounsaturated Fatty Acids or MUFAs at every meal specifically targets belly fat, the most dangerous fat because of its high correlation with heart disease.
And what are these MUFAs? Pronounced as MOO-fahs, are a type of heart-healthy, disease-fighting, "good" fat found in foods like almonds, peanut butter, olive oil, avocado, and even chocolate. They are unsaturated fat, and have the exact opposite effect of the unhealthy saturated and trans fats. Accordingly, MUFAs can actually help in weight loss, specifically around the tummy!
See? You can still munch on CHOCOLATES!! How wonderful! Chocolates are my favorite... See, in the Flat Belly Diet, a serving of dark chocolate equals one quarter cup of dark chocolate chips or 1.5 ounces of dark chocolate squares. This amount has been shown to help relax blood vessels and reduce blood pressure.
If you have the same problem as me, why don't you try it out today. Forget that Christmas is fast approaching. We need not starve ourselves for that flat belly goal. Let us trim those tummy off if not get rid of it, ayt?
DRIVER LICENSE SCANNER SYSTEM
Hey anyone heard of a driver license scanner? You may ask, "Geez, how does it work?" And I'd say, " Gee, I don't know", lol... crazy huh? but then again what is a driver license scanner? Simple, it's a scanner that scans drivers' licenses... end of story. Yeah, that's what it is but, what is it really? So people, if you are wondering the same as I am trying to squeeze my head for dear life, lol... here is what i have gathered...
"SnapShell IDR is a driver license scanner system that extracts the full card image, face image, signature image and full text data of the ID Card. The Snapshell ID uses a 3 mega-pixel camera built into its base to "snap" high quality digital images of ID cards (up to 600 dpi), populating the card’s text into appropriate fields within 2-3 seconds, into an external file, clipboard or third party software.
The extracted image and data can be exported to any other application, email, FTP and the web. When using the automatic card placement detection, SnapShell IDR launches the ID scan job immediately upon placing the card on the SnapShell ID reader.
With an outstanding cards scanning and processing speed combined with a powerful OCR engine, SnapShell IDR is ideal for customer service offices, government agencies, bars & clubs, various businesses, and third party kiosk applications."
Does that satisfy your craving mind? Anyway, if not simply visit their website today. Click here.
Learn English with Ease...
vocabulary learning
Language is a great factor in the communication process. And with communication we have words and their meanings to comprehend and express to get our messages across. I remember my classmates back in high school hating our English teacher for asking them to express themselves in English all the time. Encouraging the class to read books and all other learning materials if only to gather ample information and new vocabulary. Of course, there were some classmates who resorted to tutorials, but of course the pay is really something to consider. But the cost is nothing if you see results right? Words are the building blocks of your life. A strong vocabulary empowers you to think, learn, read, write, and speak with ease. Some of my students now have difficulty passing subjects aside from English because of poor comprehension so in so many ways, we teachers at Marymount find ways to address the issue. Products of the public school system really have us to our toes on this issue. Good thing a co teacher , James, found eSpindle, which is the easiest and most powerful vocabulary program available today.
We can do away with flash cards, expensive software, time-consuming tutoring and ineffective routines - eSpindle works much faster and guarantees results! In fact, another co teacher tried it for himself before he recommended it to the parents of his students, saying that their children can learn meaning, sound, and how to write words in fully customized sessions. eSpindle makes it easier for each and everyone because the learning process is tailor made.
So, if you ,or anyone you know, have problems or need enhancement on English, visit their website today... click here.
Kids' Simple Joys
During the weekend, my daughter was told by my sister to go home because her favorite slipper is waiting aside form a gallon of ice cream and a new toy... Actually, both River and her have their share of "pasalubong" from my parents after the groceries were purchased. She has always been asking for a new pair of slippers with her fave Dora for the design... The last time, what they picked for her was a green Diego slipper which she gracefully accepted with a hint that Diego is for "boys"...never the less, she still appreciated the gesture. After all, like me, my daughter is not that hard to please.
When I reached home, the two kids showed me their new toys and their new slippers. And they taught me how to operate their new toys, Hippo and Giraffe... As soon as music from the toys filled our living room, they danced and pointed to their feet saying that they are happy wearing their new slippers and playing with their new toys... I wish I could show you the video I took...
Oh how I wish all people are like kids, the world would have been more peaceful... don't you think so?
The Day I passed my Licensure Examinations...
A teacher would not be a full pledged teacher without a license... I had been teaching since 2000... but I took my licensure examinations in 2001 yet. Technically, I never planned on becoming a teacher. I just took Education as minor course in college mainly because I did not want to be branded as overstaying without any cause (5 years of college instead of the usual 4). It was in Manila, while working with the Bureau of Immigration that my journey as a teacher started...While with the BI, I was enrolled as a law student at San Sebastian College Recoletos Institute of Law.. a self supporting law student would need a lot of extra income in a clean way, so I applied at the Kurata Tutorial, owned and managed by the couple Mr. and Mrs. Kurata. Most of the students are first grade Japanese businessmen and their families. My first student was Mr. Ono, we only got to spend 2 months in lessons because he had to leave for Japan as he was reassigned. He expressed heartfelt thanks for all the things I taught him by asking me out for his farewell dinner. Sadly, I was not able to give him the oppurtunity since I was in Cavite doing sales calls for Sequetech selling security devices, lol... He called 5 times telling all my titas and uncles how good his teacher was and what his intentions because he was supposed to leave first flight the next day for Japan... finally, I spoke with him and politely declined. He said he will leave me something at the front desk of his condo. When I got what he left for me, I got a thank you note, sincerely written. And that's when I knew teaching is really good... I got the appreciation I did not expect. After Mr. Ono, I had Mr. and Mrs. Maeda and their 5 year old kid, and Ms. Tsuji and Mr. Maruyama, and the list could go on... And the pay was good, that's P400 per hour unlike the abusive Korean Tutorials that sprout like mushrooms today. Plus the couple are so nice to us teachers. The Japanese people have high regard for teachers... When I decided to quit the BI and Sequetech and law school, I came home and taught at Marymount Academy. Then I pursued LET, which I passed with just one take--- Thank God...
I remember the day I processed my LET application was tedious and funny at the same time. We all had to form our lines at the PRC and some misbehaved, uneducated wanna be educators would resort to fighting and arguments just to be on the front line. And of course there were those who have applied and taken the exams but failed for the Nth time... So there I was, alone and wondering why a lot of people would like to get a license when they do not seem to be cut for the job... there were others who answered that for me... listening to conversations in one way or another... some of them said that they wish to work for the DEP ED... lol, others said they have their jobs for so long and they just need the license because they may not be renewed, and others have other reasons. Mine, what is my reason? Anyway, when I passed the exams and the other teacher from the same school did not make it, I still felt gratitude. I passed. That means, I am legitimate. However, at that point, I still did not envision myself to be an educator... I only knew I am doing some good just like what my Alma Mater is telling us ATENEANS, "TO BE MEN AND WOMEN FOR OTHERS..."
I could not understand what God's plan was for me until now... Having my license , a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Education and a Masters degree in SPED, I know I am cut for this. I am an educator and that's what I will pursue. And what joy it is when I see that my three year old daughter can pronounce well, can do things beyond her age and learn things easily and with much interest and enthusiasm as her mother... lol...
Maybe one day, I will open my own school and not just a tutorial center... Anyway, Honeysweet is really our baby now and who knows it will evolve to become a school...
Anyway, the LET results are the most awaited part of it all , so for those who are interested to know the results for the September 2008 LET Exams click the links below:
