I remember, when I was yet new in Manila, and a cousin of ours was working as one of the extras in “Anna Karenina” (Anna Karen Nina), an afternoon soap opera that I used to love so much.. When I learned that she was our cousin, I was crazily jumping for joy telling everyone that the extra was my cousin. Then one housemate told me that I should do so too. It was only until I met her in person and she told me that she was paid P 1000 for simply sitting in the bar, since it was a bar scene, and she was drinking real juice and eating real cake… HUH! Free food and money, plus exposure--- But of course, it was just extra money making for her… She said that the big shot extras get paid more…
