Madam Cory Aquino died today, at age 76. "Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 this morning of cardio-respiratory arrest," Mrs Aquino's son, Senator Benigno Aquino Jr, told the media.
I was never a fan of the former president. But she never gave me any reason to dislike her either. In fact, even if I am not a fan, I see her as a woman worthy of all respect. During her term, she has done her job well, surviving coups and all other problems. If there were some issues on corruption, that would be pointed to the people who surrounded her... Anyway, this post is not of political consumption so lets just leave that at that.
I will always look back and remember Madam President as a strong, prayerful woman who led the nation in democracy... She was never greedy of her power and position, unlike some politicians... If you remember her last SONA, that sums up the kind of leader she was... She has done her job, so she must move on. In life too, I think she has done what she was called here on earth to do. Her purpose is done, thus, the end of her life---- But she left a legacy that all of us should be thankful for...
To Tita Cory, may you rest in peace!
INFO: Today, August 1 is declared as National day of Mourning.
