LEARNING A NEW LANGUAGE

Our house help, Bessa, is a native of Lantapan, Bukidnon. She is blessed to understand Binisaya, Tagalog and some English words. The people in their place are said to be descendants of the "lumads" or natives of the area. And by that, they have their own language called "Binukid". I asked her to teach me how the language should be spoken and/or written mainly because I am interested with learning indigenous cultures and languages, being that I also belong to a minority group, the "Manobo Tribe" of Agusan. My mother said that there is a similarity in the language of Manobo and the Higaonon and the Bukidnons...so with that inspiring thought, I have come to a conclusion that I should study the Binukid language as it is what is more accessible for me right now. Well, hopefully...
