I was at Camaman-an last night and after hours of visiting an old friend, and Kumare (Lili's godmother) decided to go home. When I passed by the Camaman-an Basketball Court, I was totally amazed at what I saw that I asked the driver to stop so I can take a picture. Being the only passenger in the motorella, he gave me all the opportunity to witness this special event.
Isn't it great that men on wheelchairs were given the opportunity to still push through with their favorite sport, Basketball, despite their condition? I am truly thankful for the people who organized and supported the said event. As an advocate for SPED, this is indeed a good sign that many are now giving opportunities for our brothers and sisters with special needs (and special skills/talents). Soon I hope, job vacancies for them should also be available... Well, we'll never know... McDonald's in Jones Ave. Cebu City has already been employing differently-abled buddies so maybe one day Cagayan de Oro will also open doors for then..
