CINCO DE MAYO

Cinco De Mayo, or The 5th Of May, is a holiday that commemorates the victory of the Mexicans over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, but it is also celebrated in other parts of the United States and in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population. Contrary to what many people think, it is not Mexico's Independence Day, which is actually celebrated every September 16.
With the current health situation brought about by Swine Flu, I hope it will still be a happy celebration for most Mexicans and those with Mexican descent.
