TYPHOON URDUJA

Last year, Cagayan de Oro was hit hard by the Typhoon and the twisters that came along, causing a lot of people homeless and grief stricken. Since last week and this week, the rain has never stopped pouring. The relatives we helped last year have also moved out of their homes already to seek shelter somewhere else, for fear that the river may rise higher again... Yes, there is still flooding this year, and some houses that have been swept away by the flood currents, but what I specifically hate is that, the weather itself has been making many people sick.. In the house, all of us are on medication for serious colds and dry cough. I have had flu since the weekend and the kiddies are also feverish since last week.. To combat these symptoms, we have our regular medications plus FERN-C, ASCOF (LAGUNDI) and lots of water... Not to mention, Manang Vellie, the traditional Massage Therapist we hired..

Today, classes for the kiddies and at Lourdes was canceled, so my sister and the kiddies were just at home, but I had to go to BSU because our classes there were not called off. On three sections, most of those who were absent experienced flooding.. Tsk.. tsk.. tsk..

I hope the rain will come smiling tomorrow.

Anyway, here's something to think about during the rainy days. Well, I have always thought that one of the best investments in life is our skills and talents. Surely, if we know we have it, we need to hone it and make better what we think is already good. That way, greater rewards await us in the future... And even during the rainy days, we have them to bank on...

Have a happy thanksgiving everyone...
