I am so excited. VDAY Cagayan de Oro City is now ready to kick off. VDAY, a global movement to end violence against women and girls have already launched. It is now ready for organizers all over the world to sign up. Priority is given to those who have signed up previously though. VDAY Cagayan de Oro City, in its aim to help foster empowerment to the women of Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental, has also partnered with Touch Foundation Inc., in the information drive of Republic Act 9262, or the anti violence agaisnt women and children act of 2004. This is to deepen the understanding of the law that protects women and their children their rights. In such a way that the victims will be given justice, as well as be given the oppurtunity for their lives to turn around. Proceeds for VDAY Cagayan de Oro City 2009 shall be for the temporary shelter for the women survivors of rape and domestic violence under the VAWC outreach program of the said group.
