Who Has The Fastest Speed???

My friends and I had this really serious conversation yesterday and it almost caused us to lose our merry Christmas spirit.. Well, almost. And guess what started it all? Well, it just happens to be an argument that should not have transpired just because two of our friends are sub agents for Globe Tattoo and Smart Bro, respectively.. And it got worst when the third arrived and gave us freebies promoting Sun.. waaahhh...

Imagine this: Nesic Philippines wireless broadband speedtest was the cause of the said argument. And why? Well, the three lovely drunk ladies got their heads full of their drinks and their workload in mind. I guess all three had their heads and shoulders loaded, lol.. Kidding aside, I could sense that the dedication of the three to their jobs and their respective companies are truly remarkable, as they would even risk losing our merry Christmas spirit.. Promotions wise, all three were claiming to be the best and the only one to have the fastest speed and connectivity. And since all three had their individual points of consideration, plus, their respective arguments and argumentative skills, then all three flamed our group's conversation.

But you know what I have learned from yesterday's encounter? I learned that we should not argue about something such as sexiness, or beauty, or even about love and speed test of course.. See, there are so many factors that greatly affects these things. Sexiness, beauty and love all depends on the beholder. And speed test? Well, as a former Internet cafe manager of what used to be our family owned Internet cafe business, I have been a witness to how speed varies in differing locations, not to mention weather changes and most importantly, the activities that a specific gateway is doing. When we were yet located at the highway, we used Smart for it was the fastest in our location. In my dad's house, however, we have been using Globe, as it is the fastest in that location. And now that we have moved, I am using another, as the dictates of my surfing needs suggests that I am good with this speed and connection. So I guess the cat fight that almost happened can not justify their reasons. After all, all three may be right anyway.

Don't you agree? Anyway, below are some results from Nesic. That's for Globe and Smart:

Risks???

Why Do We Dislike Taking Risks? In whatever aspect of our lives, risk is inevitable and worth trying. It is also applicable in the kitchen.. Yup, you read it right. A good cook or baker knows that every new creation was made perfect by many trials and errors in the kitchen.. A few if he is really brilliant... So I hope we all take a step into our kitchens and see what we can do... Agree?

Anyway, in love and relationships, if we do not risk getting hurt, we can never truly find happiness...

personal essays: LOVE

It's quite funny how students always have LOVE as the topic for their personal essays. I mean, yes, LOVE is a very good topic but sometimes I find that it is so common and commercial that the younger generation do not quite understand what it is all about. They talk about their relationships but I am saddened by the fact that most of them take relationships in a very shallow manner... Whew.. I wish that will change...

CUSTOM ESSAYS

My cousin was trying so hard to finish her assignment in English. They were to write an essay about anything that they fancy. She told me that she is not in the mood to write so she went online to look for custom essays that she can use.. Oh well, technology also has its share of double standard. Either it becomes helpful for students to do more or it becomes the reason why some students don't do more for their academic requirements... As a teacher, this really bothers me.

Electronic Cigarettes

Have you ever tried using an e-cigarette? Well, I have read that using an electronic cigarette is much better that the real one because every electronic cigar that is used does not contribute to pollution and poor health.

Let's face it, the real thing does too much harm to people and the environment. The photo above actually allows any smoker to smoke the healthier way with an electronic cigarette starter kit. With it, one is able to smoke indoors, outdoors, in the park, the restaurant, the office, anywhere because it looks like a traditional cigarette but has No tar, no carcinogens. It is safe because it does not contribute to second hand smoke. And I guess, it will be very economical as no lighter or ashtray needed to use it...

There are four common brands that I have read about and they are Gamucci, Smoking Everywhere, Veppo and SS Choice No 7.. I think there are others but my readings have allowed me to meet those four only so they are the only ones mentioned here.

Now, if you are not ready for the E-cigarettes, Disposable Electronic Cigarettes can be handy for you. It is equivalent to 1-2 packs of cigarettes and uses the same atomizers as the regular Electronic Cigarette, without the accessories of course. It comes fully charged but it is non-refillable because it is disposable... And guess what? For as little as $19, you can actually try the product before you buy. Cool..

Idiot Husbands Need to Be Shot on the Balls!!!

My blogger friend is experiencing the worst time in her marriage. The husband and the other woman are ganging up on her and worst, is mocking her online. The nerve of the husband to mock his wife in Facebook! Of all places, why there? So everyone can see his philandering while he attacks his wife and sides with the thick faced monster the third party is... Poor woman! She has not satisfied her mocking, she was even broadcasting her ill feelings towards the wife, as if she is the wife and the wife is the third party. Shame on her!!! Good thing the three of them are worlds apart... Whew!! I blame the husband for all these. He who does not pity his hardworking wife, or their innocent little boy...

He ought to be shot on his balls!!!

SMILDS.com

I read that SMILDS.com supported the recent DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2009. And because of my readings, I got curious. I got curious about this company so I searched some more. I went to their website and I saw the airplane and the jeepney and everything else that moved. I was totally awed and amazed that I continued to browse.

SMilDS.com launched in the Philippines

I realized that Smilds.com is a fun website to do online shopping in the Philippines. It has lots of features and covers many products, including real estate and health supplements. And the prices are already in PESO. I had fun at the site that I decided to be one of the fans of SMILDS Philippines Facebook fan page.

So far, my readings stated that SMilDS.com is aspiring to become the Philippines' premiere social shopping platform. It was only last July 2009 that it was launched and the company is inviting reseller agents to promote its platform, while these agents will sell the service subscription to the merchants. That seems to be a good way to expand.

And like what I mentioned above, SMILDS.com was a major sponsor of the recently concluded and prestigious gathering of top e-commerce players and practitioners, the Digital Filipino E-commerce Summit and Web Awards 2009 which was held last November 12 and 13, at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila, in Makati City. With the said event, it has opened doors in cultivating new insights as well as trends and developments in the local e-commerce industry.

Anyway, the Malaysian MSC Status company behind SMilDS.com, Platform2u.com, has joined the list of the notable keynote speakers of the said event. Mr. Eddie Lee, Platform2u.com's Chief Information Officer, shared his insights on the "Future of E-Commerce" plus his vision for SMilDS.com, while Mr. Edward Ling, Platform2u.com's Chief Executive Officer, gave a remarkable talk on "Why growing Wheatgrass is similar to running an e-commerce business".

The DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2009 winners were showcased to have the best practices in the Philippine internet industry. And thanks to sponsors like Smilds.com, they were given their share of recognition. I think Smilds.com is one great company we should not miss online...

SIGH!

I am beginning to think that he is seriously in financial turmoil. I planned to withdraw, but I realized that perhaps everything is just a set up. A lie. Perhaps, they are doing everything to do away with obligations being paid, responsibilities be fulfilled.

The matter is all about MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!! Can't they ever be challenged by some other matters? Whew.. What a family they are... They suck each others' poop just to get MONEY.. Not a good way to raise kids...

home lighting

I am not so keen with regards to home lighting. But one thing is for sure, home lighting helps much in setting the mood in every room in the house. Take for example a cute dimmer in the bedroom. Let's say fro example, that which looks like stars and moon for the kids... Or take something in their favorite cartoon character... That helps them sleep better without fear of the dark...

Lighting varies as with how it will be used. Take for example reading lamps. One will need something sturdy. A clear light that will not flicker nor lose its translucent luminescence while it is being used. And of course, for couples, who could resist a pink glow in the dark, lol.. Seriously, I always wondered why pink light glowing in a dark room is much more romantic than all other hues... Hmm, I guess that is just me.. Anyway, if you are in need of lighting, visit the site where I saw a very unique lamp that tickles my fancy. That is www.lightingsale.com, and below is the lamp I am dying to have...

Lovely isn't it? Well, that is what I wish to get this Christmas... Santa???? Hope you are listening, lol...

STAY MY BABY...

The first time I heard my four year old singing this song while a video was shown at Nick, I was shocked. Why? Well, do check out the lyrics:

Summerlove isn't meant to be
And it's only fantasy
That's what everyone's telling me
Stay my baby

Even though it's a little rushed
Let me know that you'll keep in touch
If you don't it'll hurt too much
Stay my baby

Oohooh Tell me right now
Oohooh How it's going down

Everything will be okay
Everything will be alright
I know that it will go my way
If you stay my baby (stay my baby)
I'm never gonna give you up
I'm never gonna have enough
So now 'til forever
Stay my baby (stay my baby)

Now that I've gone back to school
All I do is think of you
Sitting up here in my room
Going crazy

But then you call
Gets me through it all
Every time I hear you say
Stay my baby

Everything will be okay
Everything will be alright
I know that it will go my way
If you stay my baby (stay my baby)
I'm never gonna give you up
I'm never gonna have enough
So now 'til forever
Stay my baby (stay my baby)

Stay my baby -- Stay my baby (Ohoh ohoh)
Stay my baby -- Stay my baby

Tell me right now
How it's going down

Everything will be okay
Everything will be alright
I know that it will go my way
If you stay my baby (stay my baby)
I'm never gonna give you up
I'm never gonna have enough
So now 'til forever
Stay my baby (stay my baby)

Stay my baby (Stay my baby)
Stay my baby (Stay my baby)
Stay my baby
No, I'm never gonna give you up
I'm never gonna have enough
So now 'til forever
Stay my baby
Stay my baby

And the video below:

Well, what do you think? Is it fit for a four year old? At first she memorizes Barbie's If You Love Me For Me, now, STAY MY BABY? OMG!!!

On the contrary, I must admit that I feel proud listening to her sing the song like a grown child.. Oh, not so soon Lili.. Mommy will miss her baby...

Car Society

My brother was approached recently by someone who says that he is a member of the Volks Wagen Society of Cagayan de Oro City. My mom was telling us that my brother is interested to join the said association.

One cannot believe that "The Turle", or the "The Bug" has this reputation that even if it is already old, people still adore it to the point of even creating an organization to honor the said vehicle. What about the chevy camaro, or the mercedes benz g-class? How come there is no such organization for the said vehicles? The ford expedition is also a very good vehicle. But why is it not the focus of car associations? My mother was excited when she was telling us that the Volks Wagen Society was even campaigning for Volks Wagen to be on the streets again... Wow. That is truly amazing. Don't you think so? I guess I need more info about this so guys, keep posted as I will be adding more information to this post.

Speaking of cars, I saw a great deal at www.thecarconnection.com, while I was surfing the net this evening. I wonder how it feels to have driven America's newest pony car, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro... The Car Connection team have driven, compared and compiled competitive write-ups on the Chevy Camaro and developed a comprehensive review at the site mentioned. It's like seeing the wondrous adventure in their eyes... Ah.. I wonder if they'd be interested in organizing a car society for the Chevrolet Camaro to this effect... Hmm.. I wonder...

debt management before the new year

Have your ever wondered why some people would love to resolve problems before the New Year comes? Well, as I listened intently to my elders, I learned that if all financial problems will be resolved before the New Year, then one will go through the New Year with smooth sailing finances. At least that is what they try to instill in us. And quite frankly, I kind of agree that if we finish a debt this year, then we will have less worry in the next. But with this high tech age, it is best that we consult experts, and with this in mind, I am sharing the site I have just visited for this purpose, that's www.debtmanagementgroup.org. I am happy to have learned a few deals here and there that I may be able to use in my financial journey.

The site is best when you are thinking of consolidating a loan. That is actually a good deal if you do that. At least you will only need to think about one instead if the many different loans you have. With the site I mentioned, you talk to a non-profit credit counselor who can help you understand exactly how much non-secure debt you are in. Mapping your problem is perhaps the best way to get a better view of it. And by Non-secure debt, it means, Credit Card Loans, Medical Bills, Student Loans and Payday Loans. And I guess there is more, depending on what you have.

Anyway, if you are able to have this done before the New Year, everything will work out better financially..

Special Education Expo

Sped Expo Online Poster

I read about this at Mommy Chris' site, and I couldn't help but repost this for my readers here. This is about the Special Education Expo, which will be held on December 1, 2009 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. The entrance fee to the event is PHP50.00. And 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the event's chosen charity, Support and Empower Abused Deaf Children (SEADC). Operating Hours will be from 10 AM – 8 PM. This is a one day event only.

If only I am in Manila, I shall also be there tomorrow...

Poster Display Stands

Right now, I will be busy promoting and soliciting support for VDAY 2010. And although our show is yet in March of 2010, I can't help but think of Poster Display Stands that would be placed at Rodelsa Hall. In the previous VDAY Campaigns, we have missed to include that and I realize during VDAY 2008, that it is indeed very important. Funny how we can fill the entire city with our posters, yet miss to place one during the event. Ahh.. That is about to change.

Anyway, I saw this site, www.lavi.com, and they have a good poster display stand at a very reasonable price. I was thinking of something similar.. I wonder where we can get one here in CDO.. Ha! So I wouldn't forget, I wrote it down. This old lady needs to remember so many things, so bear with me on that one..

Hmm.. I have so many things on my checklist. Good that there are a lot of ways we can do many things at once with the help of technology and all.. But nothing beats the good old poster display stand in terms of a solid visible campaign. It'll be the first the theater goers will see when they arrive, and the last they will notice, as they leave..

It should really make a statement also!

uhm..

The STALKER visited my site again... Well, I am glad she was able to read my post about her.. Maybe this time she will stop whatever she will be doing.. Or whatever it is that she is brewing.. I hope she will simple stop. Because she is just wasting her time... She's actually a closed book already, but when I saw traces of her visit and the logs on the posts she has read, I can't help but blog about it here.. She visiting me now in another blog.. I wonder why she isn't coming here anymore.. hahaha.. As if it matters.. Anyway, I am just glad that she is one of my readers.. She is actually helping me with my stats, lol..

GLOO ANYONE?

Hey guys, have you heard about Gloo? Do you know what Gloo is? Hehehe.. eyebrows raising? Well, Gloo is an online scrapbook collaboration website, which allows users to doodle and write things on a canvas in real time. It's not a social network but a platform you can use side by side with your jobs, careers or even in managing a home. You can use it as a scrapbook to keep most relatives informed of the family's activities, or a business page where you can set up group meetings, or a place for parents to interact with their kids and family from abroad, or even for your peers as a message board. This is a great help for planning events, and also as a collaboration tool for business meetings, collaboration board for school meetings or even for organizing an event. And I think, for those who have sickly relatives, this can also be used to see health developments, or even weight loss charts. What do you think? Anyway, it is more advanced than our regular social media site, but is incomparable with them. So you couldn't say that trying it would be the same as building your account at Sandbox or Facebook, Multiply or Twitter, because it is way too different. I should know, I have just created an account at Gloo (big grin!). My cousins and I are actually using Gloo in planning for our upcoming Christmas Party... With the distance and all, we are able to save time and load, at the same time, we are already able to exchange ideas through Gloo... Below is how it looks now.

Now here's great news for all users of Globe Broadband, or if you have not, then, subscribe today and get an all-access pass to Gloo. If you need more answers for your questions, then Inquire about Gloo to know more..

TYPHOON URDUJA

Last year, Cagayan de Oro was hit hard by the Typhoon and the twisters that came along, causing a lot of people homeless and grief stricken. Since last week and this week, the rain has never stopped pouring. The relatives we helped last year have also moved out of their homes already to seek shelter somewhere else, for fear that the river may rise higher again... Yes, there is still flooding this year, and some houses that have been swept away by the flood currents, but what I specifically hate is that, the weather itself has been making many people sick.. In the house, all of us are on medication for serious colds and dry cough. I have had flu since the weekend and the kiddies are also feverish since last week.. To combat these symptoms, we have our regular medications plus FERN-C, ASCOF (LAGUNDI) and lots of water... Not to mention, Manang Vellie, the traditional Massage Therapist we hired..

Today, classes for the kiddies and at Lourdes was canceled, so my sister and the kiddies were just at home, but I had to go to BSU because our classes there were not called off. On three sections, most of those who were absent experienced flooding.. Tsk.. tsk.. tsk..

I hope the rain will come smiling tomorrow.

Anyway, here's something to think about during the rainy days. Well, I have always thought that one of the best investments in life is our skills and talents. Surely, if we know we have it, we need to hone it and make better what we think is already good. That way, greater rewards await us in the future... And even during the rainy days, we have them to bank on...

Have a happy thanksgiving everyone...

My Christmas Car Wishlist

Christmas is just around the corner. And guess what? I have prepared something really different for my wish list. It is often said that if you make a wish, there is a possibility that it will come true. Well, I am making it a car wish list despite the fact that I do not know how to drive, lol... First on my list is a dodge grand caravan. I want one in color pink. Hot pink, to be exact. That would surely be a sight for eyesore... Next would be a gmc terrain or any car would do so long as it is a ford...

I happen to have browsed the net and when I came upon www.thecarconnection.com, I just saw how nice the cars looked. Makes me want to own one. But since I am not that extravagant nor do I have extra budget, I am wishing them my way, lol.. Well who knows? I may just have a godfather who I have not seen for a long time who won in the Lotto. That would surely make up for all those missed Christmases and birthdays, lol...

Seriously now, at www.thecarconnection.com, anyone with the interest of these cars can afford because they come highly affordable...

MOMMY MOMENTS: YUMMY

mommy moments

Here are Lili's favorite morning treats... Sometimes she wakes up very late in the morning so upon waking up, she eats just a sandwich for breakfast and a tall tumbler of her favorite chocolate milk.. After that, she asks me to buy TAHO, and she consumes two big cups... for her, these two are YUMMY...
