Being Subscribed..

Technologists & Technicians Jobs are in right now. I mean, that is what is always emailed to me by one of the companies I am subscribed in for new updates on jobs vacancies. I have been subscribed to the said site since when I was in college, and even until now, I get updates. I like it because I could use said information in so many ways to help friends, young and old, who are still seeking employment here and around the world. Sometimes too, I get excited and tempted to use said information for myself, especially when there grants and scholarships for higher learning.

Being subscribed is truly good. I suggest that you guys try it. Been getting deals and good news from email subscriptions.

Starting Young..

When my baby brother was born, we were all too excited to trim his eye lashes. Although it was quite scary at first, but we have managed to cut them three to four times during his sleep. And the result was quite good. When Lili was born, she was also subjected to the trimming and all. Both were asleep soundly while their lashes were trimmed. Vanity of vanities, lol.. I guess it works because judging from how their lashes look now, we wont have to look for the best eyelash growth products in the future.

In India, they also have rituals for vanity which were done during the stage of babyhood, which of course, the baby will enjoy when he or she has already grown up. Notice their really nice noses? My friend from India told me about that, and there is a specific period only that it can be done. When missed, it can no longer be done when the baby gets older.

Excited for MBS 5

Just five more days and we are off to Iligan City to join the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 5. I have yet to get that sony digital cameras my sister and I have been eyeing at the mall. But then, I have another brand in mind, so it makes it difficult for me to decide. But one thing is certain, I must get a new camera because mine has died a long time ago..
Anyway, I am excited to join the MBS 5 for two reasons. One, I have been away from Iligan for so long, I have missed a lot of the expansion and the wonderful sites that have improved over the years, and two, I will be with my sister and daughter, and daughter will have her first taste of Iligan by then. Growing up, my siblings and I would often visit Maria Cristina Falls and be amazed at its glory and wonder. Of course, it had been in the books what Maria Cristina Falls is for, but it is so different to be seeing it before your very eyes..

All Better Now!

Last week I had flu, and at the point of medical examinations, it was discovered that I had urine tract infection too. It was totally a crazy week with me on the bed most of the time as I was totally weak. The doctor gave me a prescription and some samples too. I was quite amazed because the sample packet came with product comparison chart for me to compare five different kinds of the medicine, including the generic one. Brand is all there is to it, the doctor says. But she gave me a better brand that is not to expensive. I'm on my 8th tablet, and I am feeling better. After my 10th day, I shall undergo urinalysis again.

I made sure I got my dose of traditional massage, which by the way, turned out to be a great thing, as I think, it was what had actually helped me feel better. Then I remembered that Sunday, prior to getting sick, I was under the rain with almost 20 kilos of groceries inside a box, which I carried from our gate to our pad doorway. Twenty kilos included a 10 Kilo rice, and some other food stuff.

So now, I thought, I am not super woman after all. Hehehe.. I got sick and it was the worst sickness ever. I am glad I am all better now!

Travelling Soon..

Ah, we are going to enjoy a ten day semestral break and we are going to Iligan for the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 5 before the month ends. I wish we could go to Ireland and have ourselves booked for ireland tours. But wishing for Ireland is right now, a plain dream. If we have all the money and all the time in the world, Ireland or Australia, or even Austria and Machu Pichu would be on our list for a short break. To go for australia tours would really be a breather. I wish to have a chance to travel machu picchu, or the rest of the globe. But maybe someday. For now, a Philippine tour is best. It's better to get familiar and be a tourist among the other cities. That way, when it's time to go out of the country, we can be proud to say that we know most of the beautiful attractions of our country. Anyway, after Iligan, we are going for a trip South and well, enjoy the rest of our short break thereat. My cousin has just delivered a baby yesterday, and we three are excited to see her new baby. We are also going to spend All Souls Day and All Saints' Day there. Of course, Halloween will be spent traveling..

Apple announces the death of Steve Jobs, Today, Blog PRs Dropped Dead Too

Today, there was a commotion at our blogger's groups in Facebook because apparently, ALL PRs or page ranks of all blogs have turned N/A. A major drop from PRs 4 or 5, 3 or 2 and even PR 1 have become N/A.. Even Pr 8 and Pr 10 have dropped to N/A. So I checked mine and found that in my blog network, I have only 7 remaining with PR. All the rest, N/A. Then I checked again, and all PRs gone.

So there were discussions of a glitch in the system, so too, that Google may be in mourning because apparently, the world has just lost Steve Jobs.

Could it be that his death has something to do with the sudden death of some of our blogs PRs? I wonder. I was doing a ghost writing stint for a fellow blogger and she told me to stop as somehow, all PRs dropped. In the blogging world. when one's PR drops, one will readily lose a contract.  Good thing I have finished with all my tasks yesterday so now I have nothing to lose. But, apparently, all future tasks are doomed if my PRs wont come back.

So far, the observation is that, there may be a glitch somewhere, and it may take days before this changes gets reversed. Maybe this is just one way for us to also mourn as Steve Jobs has passed on. For those who may not know him, Steven P. Jobs Apple is the chairman and former CEO who made personal computers, smartphones, tablets, and digital animation mass-market products. We owe him so much for his brilliance.  He passed away on October 5th, 2011 after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer, and he was just 56 years old. Younger than my dad.. And just some wild thought here, someone who never needed rv financing because of his overflowing moohlah from his genius. There's got to be someone after this icon.

To the Family of Steve Jobs, our sincere condolences.

Living On Medical Beds

In the six years that Lili had been alive, I could count four times that she was in a medical bed. Nothing serious really. But in the 35 years that I am alive, and have gone to a hospital I have worn diapers for adults once. That was when I gave birth to Lili. Hahaha.. I hope not to be using handicap scooters ever. Anyway, why this talk about medical beds, adult diapers and handicap scooters? Well, I have read about this lady who for fifty five years of her life, have spent them generally living in the hospital bed as she was sickly and needed care most her life. Yet she reached fifty five years. Amazing. I could not imagine myself to be in that position. I find that really difficult to live with, or live, if it is living at all. Surely, it would be very expensive and impractical. But then perhaps because they have the means so it is just okay for their family.

But if I were part of that household with a sick individual, I would suggest house medication and having doctors and nurses come from time to time. But then, perhaps because they didn't want to be bothered with that and somehow, getting medical help right at the hospital is most advantageous for them. But really, if they are a huge family like most Filipino households, then some members can take turns in caring for the sick. That, I guess, is what makes Filipino families unique in the world. We completely abandon duties and tasks just to care for sick family members. Or, okay, not all, but most will do that. Good for a grandma who has grandchildren who are all medically inclined that she will have her own nurses, doctors, nutritionists and all other medical hand.

Aamir Khan Movies

It started with Three Idiots. I was totally floored with the said movie because of how it was packaged, presented and with subtitles, I was able to really get into the core of what it wanted to express.. And I thought, it was just a movie that I can let go so easily. With my daughter liking Zoobi Doobi, we get to play it a lot. Then my cousin shared again another Aamir Khan movie, Taare Zameen Par (Every Child is Special), which Aamir Khan himself directed, a movie that actually came two years earlier than 3 Idiots which was released in 2009, and I got to watch in 2011. I could have watched Taare Zameen Par in 2007 because that was the year I took up my Diploma in Special education, followed by my Masters in SPED. But then, watching it in 2011 makes no difference at all. But somehow, it has fueled something that has perhaps died a bit.

Anyway, now that I have seen two great movies of Aamir Khan, I have begun to wonder what his other movies were, or what movies he is currently working at. Then I learned that he was actually a child actor even before. Two movies with him as a child star were, Yaadon Ki Baaraat in 1973 and Madhosh in 1974. I was not yet born in those years, and I wonder if there was ever a copy. Moving further, his career as a lead actor started with Holi in 1984 with Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Raj Zutshi, Ashutosh Gowarike. I do not even know these other actors or if I have seen them before.

Below are movies of Aamir Khan that I have yet to watch. I am sure they will be good too.

Thinking of a New Mattress

My mom had to go on an official travel while my father had his scheduled check up with his doctor, that entailed coming home late as the schedule was also late in the evening, so three days ago, my brother and niece stayed with us here at our new abode. So three kids and two adults somehow fit in our bed. hahaha, almost. I thought of getting a new foam mattress by foambymail so that in the future, should that happen again, all three kids can readily do their helicopter stunts while asleep. I know how frustrating it would be to constrict movement while we are sleeping. We somehow fit alright, but when each child started taking their cues and turns, then the element or surprise takes over for a drowsed tenant, hahaha. Well, I am sure you get the picture.

Anyway, I shall wait for discounts so I can get a great bargain..

Business for Extra Income

My cousin asked me last Saturday about business, and what good business options we have. She said that a teacher came by their bank for a loan and the teacher was also into business. The teacher said that business has helped their family so much, and not just her career as a teacher. Well, that is so true. These days, even if teachers' salaries have improved, still it is not enough to help the family financially. Some would still venture into business and take on loans in the process. True enough, business is a very good option to be financially free. But business alone may be difficult at first. That is why it is still a good idea to have both a regular job and a business to match.

If I were to go into business, I would choose that which I am inclined with. A business that entails "happy" efforts on my part, and not that which I will find dragging and boring. In the movie, 3 Idiots, it was emphasized that if we make our passion our profession, then we shall all be very happy. And that is so true. We become effective persons in our careers, whether it's rack card printing that we do, and we do it best because we love doing it, then we shall become successful in it. If a gardener is a happy gardener, then surely he will produce the best products that are surely to hit the market.

I keep telling my students that too. But they most often say that if their families will starve because of their passion, then never mind the passion. Success will eventually follow, that is what it means. But then, we can never really tell people what we think and then expect that they will follow. People have minds of their own. And FREEDOM too. So yeah, it is good to go into a business or two. But not all people will think it is so.

As to me and my cousin, well, we are still thinking of a good business for extra income..

Wigs..

So it's gonna be Halloween soon. A lot of people may be buying Remy hair extensions or wigs for sale to better assimilate their costume and character. I heard Remy hair extensions are nice ones. Perhaps Vampire Princesses would need them. Lili on the other hand, may not be participating in any costume party even if she has a costume ready. Not because she does not have a wig to match, but because there isn't really a venue for it. I wouldn't want her to get exposed at SM for the kiddie Halloween treat. Their school is not also game for Halloween costumes and Halloween parties. If ever there would be one, it would only be limited to food and such. Then it will be disorganized and kids will not really enjoy it. Although, that may just be an understatement. Anyway, I think, if the kids will have fun it whatever activity, it would surely be a great idea to implement it at school too. Oh, it's just me saying these things.. I have been inactive in most of my organizations so Lili's exposure now is somehow limited as well. But it's not really a big deal of a problem. At least I get to choose the kind of people my daughter deals with.. I would want her to be enjoying life as innocently as possible.. That is what's important..

Camille Pratts' Husband Died of Cancer..

If you are one of the many women who buy plus size dresses at Lim Ket Kai Mall, you will notice one of the boutiques there with her photos all over the place. That's Camille Pratts. And I was told that that is her boutique. Of course, I am not talking about the shop of Hilda Coronel.. It's a different shop.

Anyway, I read a really sad news on Yahoo when I opened my tools today. Camille's husband of two years, Anthony Linsangan, have lost his battle with nasopharyngeal cancer at around 8:45 in the morning today at the Makati Medical Center. He was just 32. OMG! He is younger than I am, and he's gone. I can't imagine how Camille and their child will be in the coming years. But I am sure, as time will heal the loss, they will be alright.

Well, we really can't tell when our time on earth will end. So sad, that news. I hope Camille will be able to bounce back in time. I like her as an actress then, so cute as a child star. I am sad of this fate, and I pray that she and their child will be okay..

As of reading the news, there are no news yet of the interment schedule..

42nd Korea Electronics Show 2011

I have never been to any of the previous Korea Electronics Show, but I heard that it is an amazing venue for electronics enthusiasts. By far, it is Korea's biggest electronics show, and everyone is actually excited to be part of it. Even those who come from neighboring countries. Now, the best thing is that, a Smartphone app will be released soon for KES 2011. I guess that's for everyone who can understand Korean, as it is in that language.

KES 2011 is Coming Soon!
That way, people can be aware of everything about the said event. I wish I could visit Korea during this time to join that said electronics event.. Well, who knows..The show is expected to emphasize the technological convergence between software and hardware. That should bring about the realistic opportunities and responsibilities tied with the IT industry in improving the quality of life. Hmm. I hope that isn't difficult to comprehend. Anyway, everything shall be discussed at the KES 2011..

KES 2011 is Coming Soon!

Visit the Korea Electronics Show 2011 at KINTEX(Korea Int'l Exhibition Center), Gyeonggi-do, Korea, from October 12 to 15, 2011 and see for yourself what is there that can benefit you most. I am sure, you will have a grand time. In the meantime, here's a brochure of the said event.

KES 2011 is Coming Soon!

Now, for those who do not know yet, during this time too is the on going Smart Korea Conference, where KES will not only be holding a huge electronics expo, but also various conferences and talks on future government policies that will highly affect various government ministries. Like the Ministry of Defense, for example, shall be meeting various firms about installing IT systems on ships, and all areas with security concerns, so too, the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will be looking for IT solutions on growing produce and the like. In these conferences and meetings, insights into how companies can develop products in the future as well, allowing them to create more and better IT solutions that the government may one day require in the future. It is such a great idea that the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of Korea, Gyeonggi Province has Sponsored this event. Kudos to them. Of course, to organized this would be difficult unless you are an expert like the Korea Electronics Association.. At this early I congratulate them for the task. Imagine, this is already the 42nd year for the Korea Electronics Show. I think it won't continue this long if it were not a great collective effort for the benefit of the entire country.. I have once seen this kind of event in Singapore, while I was there and the exciting part is that, state of the art electronics are sold at half the price as part of promotion. Plus raffles and games that could win anyone huge electronics prize give away..

For more information about this, visit their website  http://www.kes.org. If you are into Facebook, KES Official Facebook Page is http://www.facebook.com/kes.org and at Twitter, you can follow them at http://twitter.com/kes_info

Movies Galore

I saw this really nice Korean movie in You Tube and ever since I saw that, I have been praying that there would be a downloadable free YouTube downloader that I can get.. But then, I never really found one. Good thing that I learned to use uTorrents which helped quite a lot in my Korean movie addiction. Well, sort of, as I am not really that addicted to Korean movies. I am actually quite choosy, but somehow I get to see really noteworthy movies of this kind. I also get some thrills watching sensible Indian movies.

These days, I have not downloaded anything, but my cousin lends me his collection. I saw My Name is Khan, the 3 Idiots, A Moment To Remember, The Wedding Dress and many others.  Said movies are actually well made. Not boring at all. And the Indian films I saw, are not the typical Indian movies you get from Bollywood where there's too much dancing and singing. The Korean Movies are truly well made. One of the downside of watching non-English films is that one has to bear with translations. But I do not really mind.

The SIMS Social

The SIMS Social is a new game at Facebook and almost everyone's crazy about it. Well, it's way different from the original SIMS that I used to play on when I was younger. The methods and manner of creating houses, and everything involving career is different. There is no car to transport a SIM to and from work, no neighborhood to see, just online neighbors that one can visit to maintain the relationship. The designs of every item is limited and building homes is way too different. At The SIMS Social, it is so easy for as long as you have the money. In the old SIMS building homes entails building walls and not just buying rooms. But then again, what's cool about The SIMS Social is that, you get to receive freebies every now and then.
I wonder if I'll ever get outdoor fireplaces so I can finish my mansion.. On the other hand, I am always a victim of the builder's downtime, and I always disappear without my knowledge.. I hope the creators can fix the glitches..

We do not have classes today. It's a national holiday. This day, National Heroes Day, commemorates the bravery and the courage of heroes who have stood up to fight for this country's freedom. This day is  declared as National Heroes’ Day by virtue of Republic Act No. 3827 of 1931.
Photo found Online via Google search
While Jose Rizal is remembered every 30th of December and Andres Bonifacio every 30th of November, other heroes who do not have a legal day set as remembrance for them,  is remembered on this day. In choosing August as the month for this celebration, is actually based on the events that transpired in August 1896 such as the Cry of Pugad Lawin and the Battle of San Juan del Monte.

In this day and time, we also have unsung heroes and the nameless heroes who continue to live among us, day by day.  This day is for them too.

Corrupt Post Office Personnel..

Yesterday, we received a couple of packages and some postcards at this new address. Finally, we got something from the post after a month. The postman tried to ask for money for each package, thinking that I am ignorant about their modus operandi. So I told him that the post man in Balulang does not ask for a fee for packages delivered, but him, the one assigned in Macasandig/Mandumol area asks me to pay P 50 for each? In the end, he was not able to victimize me. He was even trying to be funny, and said that a shirt is inside the package. So I told him that I have received a couple of shirts in Balulang too. I guess even if the shirt inside were funny tee shirts, I still would not be laughing at what the postman was trying to do.. Are these people working in the post office going hungry that they would corrupt every Filipino who have packages to claim? The last time, my father paid P 45 for a package that was supposed to be claimed thereat. It was a promotional item from a company from the US that was sent to me, but had to be claimed there. No receipt was given. The next package was sent and another post office personnel was the one who released the package, but no fee was ever charged. So I guess, not all of them are corrupt but many are! So we have to be on guard for them who are and who will always try to suck money from us.. I feel frustrated thinking about this really bad practice of post office personnel-- if only private couriers aren't expensive, I am sure the post offcie would have closed up already..

Products for Men, Products for Women?

I have often wondered why there are products that are naturally designed for women, as well as those that are naturally for men. But then, other brands have their products working for both.. What's the fuss about it? I mean, is there really a difference between fat burners for women and those that are said to be exclusively for men? And deodorants also have schemes like that. But I know of couples who use  one kind of product for the two of them, and reports that there is really nothing to compare with--

Uhm, I am lost here! Anyone care to explain things further..

Money and More..

The inflation has gone so bad that people these days are actually buying not just enough within their current needs and means but also hoarding some for their future. I do not know if buying CD type annuity rates of investments should count, but I think it is not just for basic needs that people who have money are hoarding on. It entails a lot of things.. But the marginalized few, remains untroubled as living life means living it a day at a time.

Our house help asked permission to go to the barangay hall for her community tax, and she adds that it is necessary for their house that they are currently staying at.. I do not quite understand the connection, but I allowed her anyway. Then I realized that the house they are living in as well as the lot for which it stands belongs to the government.. Her family and the rest of the people in their community live on government land, So, I am thinking, the government itself need to aware of the properties it has and how said properties are used.. If all government properties are used income wise, I think the Philippines will not have any problems with paying debts and all.. But then, politics will always get in the way. I think you know what I mean..

Travels Here and There

I love to travel. I love to see new faces, new sights.. And because I do, I have created a new blog with travel as its niche. Amazingly enough, within just a few weeks, it has started to grow, unlike all my other blogs which took some time before I could see development. My travel blog, Travels Here and There dot info is now a PR 2 blog. And I am really praying that I could visit some more international destinations, sample the food, stay at different hotels and review each and everyone of them. Perhaps visit vienna restaurants, or get a taste of art zurich or Zurich Art, and many others. I wanna go bungy jumping in China, or see the different animals in the wild Safari of Africa. Whew.. In the mean time that my trips are limited, I have my postcards for postcrossing. Somehow, with postcards, everything is a learning experience. I wish I could really see the many different places for myself, and take a snap of every corner of the globe---

That would truly be a journey of a lifetime.. But then, hey, we all have a reality to go back to every time a vacation ends..

Say Goodbye to Wrinkled Clothes with a Garment Steamer

Pressing clothes is a time consuming task and if you are a busy mom with a household to run and kids to take care of, you’ll need to find an easy and quick way to fix those wrinkled clothes. Gone are the days when you have to take out the iron and board to “fight” the wrinkles and lines on folded clothes, all you need is a garment steamer and this appliance will fix the problems.

Of course the traditional household would question the need to use and the benefits that a garment steamer could provide. Do you really need to have one? If you want a stress free way to deal with delicate fabrics and wrinkled clothing then yes, it is better to have a garment steamer at home. Business suits and other soft materials should be handled with extreme care; one wrong move with a hot iron could ruin your expensive outfit.

Having a garment steamer also means that you’ll have fewer visits to the drycleaners.  Imagine the savings that it can provide you in the long run especially if your family relies on the cleaners a lot. It does not only save you money but time and energy as well. If you are considering buying one for your home, there are a number of brands offering garment steamers in different sizes. You could even get one that is perfect for travel at an affordable price.

On Essays and Essayists..

Are you fond of writing eassys? Well, I have read somewhere that essaywriters are earning big time even just to write a bibliography for other people. I guess the online world is making it possible for essayists to find something useful of their talents online that gives them instant monetary equivalent. But I wonder if these essayists really love what they do, should they find themselves in heaps of essay orders.. hmm. Just thinking..

Anyway, I read too that aside from blogging, a fellow mommy blogger from the other side of the world, is earning not just from her blogs and its advertisements, but also from writing essays. So it must really be a good way to earn, huh? I wonder where that specific website is. I will soon find out about it, and I will share it here, my dear readers, so do not fret. I am sure some of you are asking where to sign up and start writing essays too. Am I right? or Am I right? hahahaha..

Just chillin' here in my crib on a lazy Sunday.. will go to church later.. Have a blessed Sunday everyone..

The Cellular Phone

I remember the time when Audio conferencing was yet new, and cellular phones are yet too few, those cellular phones which cater to the purpose of Audio conference. Ahh..it was fun. And funny, because we were all so conscious of what we were doing, my friends and I. But later on, as cellular phones have upgraded to better technological devices, not only audio conferencing was possible, but a whole lot more. This opened to new needs and wants from its users.

Today, the cellular phone is not only used for calling but storing important data. Not to mention, transmitting data through the Internet, or even capturing and making data before storage or transfers. It can even allow for security functions as well as allow financial aspects of one's life be organized with the use of a cellular phone. For most people these days, the cellular phone has become a necessity, and not just a simple gadget used to make or receive phone calls.

These days, even children as young as five can use a cellular device as it also has functions that make them enjoy moments they are holding the gadget. But some parents, for security reasons, allow their children to carry cellular phone for tracking purposes by installing tracking applications on their cellular phones. Saves lives in so many ways.

Online or Not

When I was working at the contact center, I learned that buying flip cameras are much more expensive online, than calling to order from customer service. However, buying filp cameras online makes the buyer do the act of buying all by himself, unlike in buying through the customer service personable who actually places the order for the client. Hmm. If I were the customer, I would rather buy from an actual store located where I am at. That way, I get to sample how the camera works and have it replaced at that very instant when it is not working accordingly..

Anyway, there are other things that we can actually decide whether to get online or at the store. For me, gadgets are not one of the many items I would get online. I would perhaps buy clothes, shoes, accessories or what-nots online, but not gadgets. Oh, but it's just me..

Traveling..

If  I have a chance to travel in all the different places in the world, I would consider to travel machu picchu, or join canada tours, or wander around asia in an asia tours.. I would gladly promote what is there to promote, and have fun in the process. Take pictures, sample the food, immerse with the culture. It is so nice to be visiting places that is different from where you are from. This way, you are actually walking through with your history lessons in mind. Well, if you get to read so many things about so many places and the culture as well as the tradition of people living in different places, surely you will learn about them in your travel too.

I like going through the different food stalls whenever I am in a new place. It is said that one's culture is reflected in the food that one prepares, so too, in every place, a specific food is reflective of its culture.. So if you go to Singapore, and you find many food stalls that sells Indian or Indonesian dishes, then you will know that Singapore is a bastion of mixed cultures. And the person in front of you who is serving your food is somehow sharing a part of himself, his culture and his country.

That is what one can expect in all other tours, be in in Asia, Europe and all other places in the world..
