EYE CARE FOR LESS

In my other blog I posted that L is in need of eyeglasses and that his sister who is in the United States will be sending him a pair in the next package, which is next week by the way...hehehe... Anyway, how it came about is simple. First L told me about his sight problem whenever he would drive and I suggested that he wear a pair of eyeglasses while he would drive his car, anyway the glass windows are tinted, so it wont be much embarrassing to be seen wearing them. Then I had a chat with his sister, P, the nurse in the US and she told me almost immediately that she read about Zenni Optical in the New York Times?!...whoa mama!! Isn't it "alignment"? How our thoughts are aligned for a certain purpose? Oh, boy...THE SECRET really works...

Anyway, she told me that it was stated in the NYT that at Zenni Optical, one can get Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! Yeehah!! Alignment again. Hehehe... Oh and she added that she will be getting a pair for herself too. That's also when she told me that she will be including a pair for L. So, I took the liberty of choosing the glasses for L. Well, if there was a frame with a design for skaters that would have been what I have chosen, but since there was none, the ones below were the choices:

Of course, P has the last say...hehehe...

Oh, how I made the choices? I searched Mr. Google and I was led to the website of Zenni Optical at www.zennioptical.com, and there I viewed all the possible designs. And wow, it is truly amazing how much savings one can get, and they come in trendy designs and cool colors too... At Zenni Optical, we can manage to be Seeing Straight Without Breaking Bank...Truly amazing, isn't it?

After that I sent L a text message telling him everything, and added that when the glasses arrive, he should wear them with pride for they are not only fashionable and stylish but they are also sent with love... I know how a sister cares for her siblings... as I am a sister too... wink..wink...

YUMMY SUNDAY: CRABS FOR DADDY

Today, a seafood vendor passed by the orange house. So while preparing breakfast, I was also busy cleaning the crabs for daddy's visit. Well, I kinda invited him for lunch at the orange house. So I had to prepare something special.

This recipe is actually from my best friend Gay C. J., or otherwise known to DTR and Me as Gagay. She had us taste this special crab recipe at one of their fiesta celebrations. And I was so fortunate that one time, she allowed me to peek into the cooking and join her too. That's how I learned to prepare this great foodie. But of course, I recreated and made my version, with my signature in the food.

This is how the crabs looked when they are near the cooked state. Actually this is about done but I just had to simmer the sauce. The ingredients are simple too. All you will need are a.) Crabs, b.) soy sauce, c.) vinegar, d.) onions, e.) garlic and f.) sprite. Unfortunately guys, I cannot tell you how much each ingredient you should put since I do not measure when I cook. I simply use my nose and taste buds for the magic. And of course, the most important ingredient of all is "LOVE". Well, I learned that from my mother and my grandmothers, both Lola Viating and Lola Berta. The three of them often say that when you cook with love, or if you are preparing the food for the people you love, there is magic. And the food transforms itself to being the best tasting food ever....

Unfortunately, Daddy was not able to make the lunch date. His mother protested I guess... Anyway, we agreed to have his share frozen. The beauty of this dish is that you can prepare for a battalion, and if not all of them arrives on time, you simply freeze the dish and reheat when the next batch of hungry warriors arrive.... In fact, I love this dish even when it's cold... well, I wouldn't be called Ice Queen if I don't, hahahaha....

ANIME CHAT

My cousin is an anime fanatic. Day in and day out, he has nothing on his mind except anime. In fact, he even had a crush on his classmate who is also an anime lover. Hahaha... Anyway, today, while I was chatting online, I came across a chatroom for anime fans. Anime Chat City is a great hangout for people like my cousin. He signed up... Anime lovers are similar if not the same as any other earthling. They can talk about anything and everything anime under the sun...lol... In fact, most chatters from the said site have their counterpart anime selves... woohoo...

I wonder, if I sign up for this site, would I be able to chat with a real person? But of course yes... what was I thinking? Just because these people love anime does not mean they are not humans!!! Hey eleanor wake up...

Sorry guys, I am just new to the world of anime. I am just as curious as anyone else... In teh meantime, I will ask my cousin's assistance in the anime world. Well, who knows, I might find the right person for me in anime land...

I am signing up for anime chat city... join me and my cousin there...

SATURDAY IS POOL DAY...

The kids loved the inflatable kiddie pool at Honeysweet. Hahaha... I guess it's one way for them to be excited in coming to school...

Last Saturday was swim day. The kids are looking forward to another splashy day tomorrow at the orange house. Hahaha, I guess I will need to prepare more towels and snacks this time since more kids will be coming to play with River and Lili...

Well, I am excited too for another fun day tomorrow...will blog about it afterward...

BEAUTY AND MADNESS 2

Beauty is expensive. Would you agree with me? Yes, beauty is expensive. We buy all the beauty regimen to use such as soaps, foams and all others. We even take pills and vitamins, food supplements that promise a guaranteed out put of beauty. But of course, sometimes, we really have to go out of our way as finding the best clinics for surgeries and operations for enhancement or corrective measures... from the ordinary manual operations to laser surgeries... You name it, it's all there. What with the technology we have these days? We simply can afford to decide a date and BOOM! we decide to become a better, more attractive individual...
Have you ever thought of beautifying yourself through surgery by having yourself undergo botox new hampshire ? The thought is far from my imagination, but I guess people who do that really want to feel better if not best within themselves.
I know of somebody here in Cagayan de Oro who underwent the said treatment, and believe it or not, she has transformed herself drastically that people around her thought she is a different person. If she did not speak, she may not have been recognized at all. LOL...
It was said to be a painful operation, nonetheless she was handled by experts that soothed her aching spirit. She was aching to become more beautiful...So regardless of the cost she had to subject herself to it. You could just imagine the price too. It was really very expensive. But of course, she had all the money to do it so it is not much of a problem for her...
So now, she walks with grace and beauty... And here's the most interesting of all, she was once a he, too... ahahaha.... Gosh, all those treatments, all those aesthetic enhancements... All in the name of beauty...
But if you ask me, I still believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and an upright, confident person will always shine, no matter what...

THANKS KATE FOR THIS MESSAGE:

"When in doubt, show up early. Think less. Feel more. Ask once. Give thanks often. Expect the best. Appreciate everything. Never give up. Make it fun. Lead. Invent. Regroup. Wink. Chill. Smile. And live as if your success was inevitable, and so it shall be."

Hmmm...what do you think guys? My FACEBOOK GROUP, ATTITUDES OF GRATITUDE sent me this in the FB private mail...I am truly thankful for such wisdom... nevertheless, I still think I should NOT STOP watching THE SECRET...hehehehe...

TERMITE BITES

Have you ever been bitten by termites? My new assistant have been bitten and only complained when she could no longer bare the effects. At first she complained of itchiness and a stinging sensation on her left leg. Then when we looked, we saw how red it was and has pus build up already. So immediately we looked for termite swarms in the orange house, for fear that she may have gotten it from there. But we could not find any. Immediately we contacted MAPECON and when they came, they checked the place. Luckily, none was found. So we discussed with her uncle that she may have gotten the infections from termites which swarmed at their house. He asked for the number of MAPECON and asked them to visit his place also. I will post the development later.

As for Yen, the doctor have already given her medication. Thank God we immediately referred her to a doctor friend who gave her services for free...Lucky me, I did not spend anything for my employee, hehehehe...

AND I AM TELLING YOU...

So while JUST ONCE led me to HOW DO YOU KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING?, I found this song also.... I wish this love-hate relationship will end up in a better position. Wouldn't you do you agree? Or else, my blog will be filled with music and lyrics that explains the mood I am in. I do not wish to transform my blog into a music and videos blog you know...hehehe...

Whew...that is Jennifer Hudson on the video. I just love her voice... I first saw her in DREAMGIRLS...and she can act too...

When I learned of what happened to Whitney Houston, my favorite singer, I was really saddened and thought that the likes of her would never exist again. But Jennifer Hudson saves the day...just love her voice... Now I have a new favorite...But of course, the first will always be my first choice...wink..wink.. so see Whitney's video of the same song below...

Here's another song I love that Whitney popularized...

And to L, listen to the last song okay???

How Do You Keep The Music Playing?

So, while looking at the video of "JUST ONCE", here's another video I found...

And the lyrics below...

How do you keep the music playing?
How do you make it last?
How do you keep the song from fading too fast?
How do you lose yourself to someone?
And never lose your ways
How do you not run out of new things to say?
And since we're always changing
How can it be the same?
And tell me how year after year
You're sure your heart will fall apart
Each time you hear his name
I know the way I feel for you
It's now or never
The more I love the more that i'm afraid
That in your eyes I may not see forever..
Forever...

If we can be the best of lovers
Yet be the best of friends
If we can try with everyday to make it better as it grows
With any luck, then I suppose
The music never ends

I know the way I feel for you
It's now or never!
(How do you keep the music playing?)
The more I love the more that I'm afraid
(How do you make it last)
That in your eyes I may not see forever
Forever...
(How do you keep the song from fading, keep the song from fading too fast)
If we can be the best of lovers
Yet be the best of friends
If we can try with everyday to make it better as it grows
With any luck, then I suppose
The music never ends

Whew...This song is so timely... I am teary eyed... Hahay LOVE....why do you make people go crazy over you???...

BEST FOOD SITE

If you are to prepare for a special dinner for two, a date with a future partner to be precise, why not prepare shrimp cocktail with a special shrimp cocktail sauce. I am pretty sure that that will do the trick. Hahaha, why am I blogging about this? Well, I am preparing a feast for a few good friends. So while my mind is still wondering what to prepare, I came across www.life123.com, where I found the recipe of the said shrimp cocktail sauce. Whew... I bet it is really delicious. Hey, I just know.. I was born with the ninth sense see...the sense for good food, ahahaha... well, who would disagree? I have all it takes to prove that!!! Hahaha....

Kidding aside, I just hope it will work ...

JUST ONCE

I did my best
But i guess my best wasn't good enough
'Cause here we are back where we were before
Seems nothing ever changes
We're back to being strangers
Wond'ring if we ought to stay or head on out the door

Chorus:
Just once
Can we figure out
What we keep doin' wrong?
Why we never last for very long
What are we doing wrong?

Just once
Can't we find a way to fin'lly make it right?
To make the magic last for more than just one night
If we could just get to it
I know we could break thru it

I gave my all
But I think my all may have been too much
'Cause Lord knows
We're not getting anywhere
Seems we're always blowin'
Whatever we've got going
And it seems at times with all we've got
We haven't got a prayer

Chorus:
Just Once
Can't we figure out what we keep doin' wrong?
Why the good times never last for long?
Where are we going wrong?

Just once
Can't we find a way to fin'lly make it right?
To make the magic last more than just one night
I know we could break thru' it
If we could just get to it
Just Once
Ooh.. We can get to it..
Just Once...

Today, I find myself humming this tune...

Now I am looking at the video...

I just don't know how to deal with my feelings and our situation anymore... God will give me the answer, IN HIS TIME...

NIGHT VISION PRODUCTS FOR ME...

I have seen in movies when soldiers attack their enemies at night, they use thermal imaging or what is commonly called night vision. And because we see them in the movies, my thoughts would run wild as thinking that such gadgets may be used at home also. Personally, I would like to own one to watch "robbers", lol...Hey, I have no plans of becoming a security guard or anything but I think that that is handy. Don't you think so? Robbers wont know you have already seen them enter your abode, and "bang!", they get caught.... ahahaha...

So I searched online to find out where we can perhaps purchase said gadgetry, and Mr. Google pointed me to OpticsPlanet.net, which offers a wide variety of Night Vision products at unbeatable prices. Plus, the offer Free UPS Shipping on orders over $29.95. They have knowledgeable customer service in case customers have questions regarding the products bought, and of course a wealth of product information is available at the site.

So, if you are interested to get night vision products, visit the site.

SALAMAT PO...

Congressman Klarex Uy had been very helpful to the members of the indigenous communities here in Region 10. My mother, who is in charge of the educational scholarship program for students/scholars belonging to the different tribal groups in the region along with her colleagues had a meeting with the congressman and the checks for the dependents and scholars were also given during the same day.

I remember, from the time my mother started getting busy with the educational scholarship projects in their office, NCIP, my sisters, Sweet and Honey and I would always help our mom with encoding reports and all other documents for documentation and reporting. There were also other congressmen in the region that supports educational projects and believe me, typing names of scholars is not a fun job since there were really many of them. So much entry to do. On the contrary, it makes me happy to know that the said entries are students who deserve a chance at life by being given the chance to go to school. So to Congressman Klarex Uy and all the others, on behalf of the tribal youth, MY HEART FELT THANKS...

I am not a scholar under this program, but I am a PROUD member of the MANOBO TRIBE. In fact I am 50% Manobo only, but still, I believe that my roots deserve recognition in the totality of my being... I hope one day I will learn all the Manobo Tribal ways and practices so I can teach the world and share the culture... One day that will be a reality...

THE PROMISES...

Moving further, one of the problems mentioned by my III-PSALMS is the problem of drug addiction and dependency, an example of which is cocaine addiction, and the most common among the street children, the use and abuse of "RUGBY"...

Hmmm, if only there is a solution to that problem here in the Philippines. If only we have treatment centers like the Promises Treatment Centers, which treats addiction to a variety of drugs and substances, which include Alcohol, Cocaine, Codeine, Heroin, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, and many others. It remained firmly rooted in the 12-Steps of treatment, and uses a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including psychiatry, counseling and psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, stress management strategies, holistic therapy and medically- monitored detox.

Although we have temporary shelters and treatments, but evidently, they are not as good as that of the Promises Treatment Centers. Do visit their website at www.addictioncocaine.info, and get to know more about the center.

THE EMPLOYMENT SCENE IN THE PHILIPPINES...

Our topic for discussion in Values Education is all about the employment scene in the Philippines. The first class to have their outputs reported is the III-PSALMS. They are the class in the middle of the open auditorium, sandwiched between two noisy classrooms. UGH!...
Amazing enough, we were able to arrive at a good output. It seems that this class is really aware of what is going on in their communities and the country in general.

HAIRSTYLES AND MORE...

After choosing a dress for the Junior's Night, of course what comes to mind is make up and hairstyle that would match my attire.... I have already contacted my hairdresser, Nina, and she is available to help me look totally fabulous for the night. It is truly helpful if you have known your hairdresser and your hairdresser is known to you and in the community, because that is satisfaction guaranteed.

My cousin Beth, who is in Pennsylvania is also busy preparing for her engagement dinner to her long time sweetheart, Angelo. She is also an avid customer of Nina, but of course she can not send for Nina this time. Well, it will cost her a fortune if she will do that. Nonetheless, the Internet is still a very helpful tool for her too. The same as anything else that she has needed from the time the Internet was born. And lucky her for she found a hair salon chalont with a hair salon chalont color that offers full service salon chalfont.

The salon is called Tony D's Hairstyling, which is located in Bucks County on Route 202 in Chalfont, Pennsylvania. And mind you, it is not just a salon, but a Total Body Concept. It is a full service salon which provides a well trained staff of hair stylists, nail technicians, aestheticians and massage therapists. One will get total body pampering and a feeling of freshness all over...

So to Beth and me, let's kick some butts with our would be gorgeous hairstyles...ahahahahha...

BLOGGING LIFE CONTINUED...

And I thought my blogging life would cease...ahahahaha...WRONG! Seems that my schedule is still very much okay for blog hopping and opp hunting...

Ahahahaha... My schedule is set at 12 noon. My class starts at 12:10 and log out is at 6pm. Wowowee...

I can do opps in the morning and opps in the evening...

Thank You LORD.

BANK HOMES

Many Filipinos live in the United States. Many have lived there for quite some time and they have so many things to share. My friend Delia was talking about buying a house the other day. She is a nurse there for 15 years already. She told me she has lived in four different houses, bought them and sold them simultaneously. I asked her how that is possible and she said she sells direct or sometimes to the bank and the bank sells the houses and earns from it. She said many are doing that as that has been the trend there. It is said to be more practical that way.

So I got curious...Mr. Google to the rescue, lol...Now here's what I found, and here I will sound like I am selling, ahahahaha... if you live near the San Diego area, or if you are a home buyer who is looking to buy a low cost bank owned, home foreclosure in San Diego County, California then the site I have discovered is for you. As you can see, new san diego bank homes are readily available to purchase. If you wish to know more please visit www.sdbankhomes.richardelias.com and check them out.

Now I get the picture...

A DARK ROOM FOR A CLASSROOM?

My last class today at MOGCHS is a very poor class. I mean, the classroom is very poor. There was no door, no windows just window frames, and no lights...It was the last class from 5pm until 5:45pm. When I entered it was already very dark and mosquitoes are everywhere...

Sad...so so so sad...

We had groupings and while they were doing their group discussions, the secretaries for each group had to go near the window frames for a little light...

I hope something could be done about this. The third year students from section "Galatians" need lighting very badly...

BIG BEAUTIFUL WOMEN & FASHION

Are you one of the beautiful plus size women who needs more information about fashion?Well, here's a website I found through Mr. Google as I was searching for a dress online for our Juniors Night in MOGCHS. Hahaha, I just reported today and here I am looking for a dress to attend a school function. Lucky me...

So I dropped by www.sarafashion.com.au, and guess what? I found the best clothes online. So JN, here I come...hahahaha...I am more than prepared.

The photos below are my choices...what do you think?

ON LOVE...

When I was younger, my knowledge of love was plainly based on what I read and what I have seen in media. I started having crushes as early as the fourth grade, huh...my grade school classmates will never forget E.S., he was a short, stocky grader, with dark skin..ugh...but mind you, he was very smart. I guess that is what I like in him too... He was smart. My best friend at that time, CDC, also had a crush on him, and we almost ended "quarreling", but, best friends will always be best friends...ahahaha...But of course, now, he is just a name and a memory. End of story.

High school was also fun. There was "shy eyes", then, "wild thing", then, "small but terrible"....etc... oh my goodness the codes went endless. They, as DTR would refer to as my "men"...(and they were just crushes, excuse me!...), were all brilliant in their fields of expertise...the smartest guy in class, the goofy smarty sporty kid rolled into one, and the short guy again but with the best volleyball skills...hahaha, those were my crushes. Then I fell in love. Hmmm... was it really love or just infatuation. And of course, infatuation that was... because when I saw him again in College, I felt nothing. Probably because in college, I was in love again... with my best friend, "the gay man"...but Ironically, nothing special happened to us then, but only after college, when we met again in Manila...whew...that was what I called "real love"...then, it hit me, he was really gay. Confirmed and tested...but I still loved him after that...

After Manila, as my career path had taken a sudden halt and a turn around, I met Lili's dad... started out as friends and ended how it is now... This too is real love. And I am not ashamed to say that I am and I guess will always be in love with him...Although a part of me wants to stop...but I can't. Maybe it's not love, maybe it's foolishness--- hmmm???

It is love, because in spite of everything I still care and worry about him. Plus, no one has made me feel what he has made me feel...

Quite frankly, I have two suitors now, and they are both above the young adult stage, however, they are acting like graders. One is even corny and instead of me liking him, I get turned off by his way of dealing with me. And the other, well, he is an EX-Seminarian. Oh my goodness, I don't want God to punish me for taking away his man from him...lol... Seriously, I don't feel any connection. Oh and there's this forty something guy who I met through blogs, who wants to be my business partner. Actually he is nice, but I think he does not like me but my talents that he can use for the business...My cousin said he had been asking a lot of questions about me, but he never said anything about courtship...so I think with him it is purely business and nothing else. But, he keeps telling me stuff that I feel awkward about... my point here is that, if it's purely business then he should stop making me feel awkward...

On love, I just want something that lasts...and that runs both ways...end of story.

OF LAWYERS, LAWSUITS & FUNDING...

If you are thinking of suing someone or a company, you will need a lawsuit funding. Yeah, that is really true. See, it takes time and money to win a case. So whatever the cost, the plaintiff or the defendent will really need money. Here's a site that could help in that area, if you are in need of funding. I visited www.lawsuitfunding.com, and there I read that they can provide cash advances for pending lawsuits. One can get the cash needed while the case is in progress. They have the fastest turnaround time on loans to make sure one can get money fast. All that is needed is to fill out the application to get the needed cash as soon as possible. Isn't that great? I wish though that that is applicable here in the Philippines. Because here, if one is poor, he or she is surely to lose a case. Why? Lawyers are expensive. The good ones may offer pro bono, but not all the time... It's on a case to case basis, really. Good if you have lawyer friends or relatives who can give assistance or pro bono...if not, there's the Public Attorneys Office, but then again, the good ones often go into private practice...

EXCITED???

Today is my first day in MOGCHS..

Am I excited? Actually not. Although I am ready, still I look forward to what will happen. Public school teenagers are different from that of the Private schools...

But they are all the same...They are kids waiting to be pushed to their limits, if only to succeed in life...

I hope they will be open to my method of teaching....

I hope....

POLITICAL FORUMS

Have you ever visited political forums ? These kinds of forums like all other forums need participation from people who are interested in the topics. People who are just looking around should not post a comment or two if such comments are not in accordance to the group's objectives or topics...

Political forums are similar to a political debate website, you get to vent out the steam that's in you...just like for example, the "Argue With Everyone Discussion Forums", it is totally amazing how all people there have their share in the discussions. Do visit their website at www.arguewitheveryone.com. The site is generally unmoderated, but serious joiners are unlikely to make fun of the site. Although it is designed with very few rules to promote open, free debate about whatever topics members are interested in.

But hey, if you are just wanting to look around, there is no harm in it...you are free to look...visit the site and see what I mean...

KAKANIN SUNDAY, YUMMY SUNDAY...

We had this for snacks, matched with a cup of hot chocolate. Hot chocolate is made from native chocolate we call "tableya" and traditionally prepared boiled and constantly whisked inside the clay pot...but now, it is simply boiled in ordinary pot and whisking is not so much done as we were busy cleaning also. When it came to a boil, that's the only time we stirred it. The latter is so wrong, as my mother would point out, it is still best to have it the old fashioned way. I do not have a picture of the hot chocolate because I forgot, lol... but the partnered food we call "kakanin" or food made out of ground rice...the big ones are called "Puto", so with the small white ones. They are actually best eaten with "Dinuguan" or Chocolate Stew in English...but since it will be partnered with hot chocolate, then there is no need. The brown ones are called "Kutsinta", I do not know the English name for this but let me just say that that is my favorite. They are best served with freshly grated coconut on top. Truly a yummy treat, but, caution dear friends...they are made from rice, hence...CARBO CAUTION there...

FINDING FAMILY ONLINE...

The other night, my Aunt Evelyn, cousin of my father in the father side sent me a text message asking if I am the daughter of my father, Dennis. Of course, I replied. I found it quite weird so I asked her who she was and how she got my number. She introduced herself saying that she is the daughter of Salvacion Nuevos, sister of my grandfather, Lolo Peping. She told me she got my number at the family account under group search. And amazingly enough, she was telling me things that happened while I was yet a baby. That my parents attended the burial of Lola Doray in Ilo-ilo when I was yet a baby. Apparently, she was not sure if I was that baby so she asked me. She further told me that she married an Australian that is why she is now in Australia. It was quite an exchange and I consumed my load, ahahaha...International Text is expensive...But it was good. She ended saying I give her "regards" (greeting) to my father and the rest of the family. I told her that she is welcome to join our family under groups in Friendster since I am the owner of the group. Afterward, I accepted her joining...

The Internet is indeed very powerful in bridging families online...

FORGOT TO POST THIS...

This is how we welcomed the New Year... We made noise using coin banks and piggy banks... It is safer and more child friendly. And accordingly to myth, will bring you more money...ahehehehe...

Anyway, so far, year 2009 may have opened with floods and all but one thing I can say is that, it is a good year so far, and more good things will come now that The Year of the Ox is officially here....

ALLERGIC TO DUST...

Got news from my doctor today. I am allergic to dust. Whew... And I was advised, as much as possible, to stay away from the cause to make me better. If not, I will never get well...So what happened? Monday, this week, a huge 10 wheeler truck passed by as I was crossing the street towards the jeepney to go home at 8:30 pm. I partially choked from it, and later in the evening felt myself having difficulty breathing... Tuesday, I was already not feeling well when I went to my tutees' house, and exposed myself to another batch of "huge portions" of dust as three big trucks passed me by again...even if you take the taxi, when you hail from it, dust will still be able to reach you...ugh...

Well, that had been my problem since I took the clients from that said area. But I didn't mind because I was having fun with the kids. But this week's episode was different. I have difficulty breathing to the MAXXXX....meaning, I feel it was like a near death experience already...sigh...

Thanks to my doctor who gave me a very good prescription---

I am a little better, thank God, but I really have to shun away from constant exposure to dust...So today, even if I am wanting to take a good rest, I stayed up to look for a substitute for me. All my teachers are full, and their areas are far, so my tutees are impossible for them to insert in their itinerary...had to look for someone capable and willing to start right away, TODAY...

Thank God for Teacher Ani Agustin...

WELCOME TO MOGCHS

Today I reported to Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School...or MOGCHS. I was met by Miss Helen Maasin, the Head Teacher of the Values Education Department. I was made to wait at the head teacher's table as the principal still had visitors before me. That explains the first photo you see above. When I finally met the principal, all he said was "Welcome to MOGCHS"...

After my courtesy call with the School Principal, Mr. Montejo, I was led by Mrs. Maasin to the Values Education Department Office, where I met Mrs. Sherelyn Valdez, the teacher who I was to substitute and the rest of the teachers in our department. Mrs. Valdez is on her eighth month and her delivery is scheduled next month already. So effective Monday, I am to take her place. So what we did was a tour of the different classrooms. She is handling 9 sections, 8 juniors and 1 senior. But unfortunately, the thong of my sandals broke...that explains the second photo...and of course, the third photo shows a pair of green rubber slippers, which she had asked a student to buy for me...How embarrassing... She asked me if we can continue with the turn over tomorrow, and I agreed. After that, I went straight to my Aunt's office and invited her for lunch at TAPSI TIME..ugh...I failed to take pictures, tsk, tsk...I was so hungry then...lol.... I rode the taxi afterwards since I look awful with my attire...ahahaha...

Now I feel sick again...have trouble breathing...whew...

Cousins...

I have wonderful cousins. We are all very close. In this photo though, not everyone is present. I was not in Cagayan de Oro during that time so I missed the party. But when I am here, I am in the photo too...hahaha...

So what do we cousins have in common? Well, we are all talented, intelligent, skillful and beautiful...

What do you think???

I NEED FURNITURE...

Since moving at the "orange house", I am totally amazed at how huge the place is...the kids, my baby brother River and my daughter Zarelle love it like that mainly because it is very spacious. They can freely move around, play with their toys, go biking inside the living space...hahaha.. They definitely like it...But there's a portion of the living area that I intend to add more furnitures to...The area to receive visitors...And I would love to see a sofa or a devan or anything that may be comfortable for the guests, should the need arise.

And speaking of furniture, I found this really helpful site, which showcase lots of different furniture for the home. Modern furniture that specifies one's taste and style. They have living room furniture, bedroom furniture, closets, tables, and anything you can think of. And what's really nice is that they offer discounted rates. So you could just imagine the savings you can enjoy.

As for my corner in the orange house, I would like to have the one that is shown here...Well, we'll see...If the two kids can have the entire living space for their playground, my little corner with my sofa or loveseat or devan or whatever I can afford to get, will be my playground...hahaha...

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AT MOGCHS

Today I was called by a lady named Mrs. Maasin, the Values Education Dept Head of MOGCHS. She asked me if I am still interested to work with them. I asked why there is an urgency for the job when they have already absorbed the one who ranked #1 during the teacher's ranking last summer. She candidly told me that Rank#1 is pregnant and have filed her maternity leave. Rank#2 did not accept the post as substitute because she is no longer available. And I, rank #3 is next in line...

Yeah, I forgot about that already...I was ranked 3rd but MOGCHS was only hiring one at that time so rank #2 and the rest bade goodbye to the opportunity. So I said YES... a two month substitution won't hurt. In fact, it will be a bonus in the criteria for the next ranking.

So tomorrow, I shall be there for the turn over of the teacher who is about to give birth...

Well, a new journey awaits...Honeysweet Learning Center is a business owned by my father..I am managing it still...And I am thankful because God gave me two assistants who are helpful and trustworthy...Hiring more teachers to cover for me? Well, we'll see....

SEXY CLUBWEAR

I mentioned in my previous post that my second year students were asking me about prom dresses, remember? Well, here's a a super sexy suggestion from another batch of girls from the same class...well, they did not really mean to be wearing sexy clubwear during their prom, but what these girls were thinking were their attire after the prom...so they are busy about the after the prom thing rather than the prom itself, hahaha, how time flies...funny...during my time we were so innocent about these things...no thought about sexy outfits or anything...

However, their plan of going clubbing may be terminated as they are too young to be admitted inside the clubs...I told them that they are too young to go clubbing...and they simply giggled at the thought, at the same time telling me that they are just planning...or wishing, if the case be that their preparations would be pointless, as they will not be allowed inside the clubs...

After thirty minutes of rebuttals, ahahaha... they finally kept the discussion focused more on the prom dresses...until one of them asked my secretary what she wants to wear when she goes clubbing. Francine replied of course that her favorites are sexy mini skirts with trendy tops or her favorite mini dresses with matching accessories. She added that she also have worn a micro mini skirt, a snug and skimpy top and all other sexy getup... Francine also told them that when she goes clubbing, her club wear is intended to call attention, making her look sexier and more confident. What I like most was what she added. She reminded the girls that when she was their age, she focused more on the occasion and chose a dress that befits the event. Clubbing came later when she reached maturity, when she was already able to carry herself without looking cheap or whorish. Teen age girls should refrain from mixing the idea that club wear and Sunday dresses are all and one, as every attire counts only when they are worn at the right time, at the right event/occasion...if not, the person wearing them will never look good in them...

Thanks Francine, I think the girls got your point, ahahaha...

OF FINGERS...

"Kandila-on fingers"...Fingers shaped like candle sticks...That's what me and my daughter share..I remember, when she was born, her nails were even square shaped. That all of us at home laughed. My sisters said that it must be because when I was still pregnant with her I was so "maarte"(vain)...Imagine, even when I was pregnant i would have my nails done with all the flashy colors... I only clipped them when Zarelle was already 2 weeks old for fear that I might scratch my daughter's sensitive skin...

but of course, the fingers remained beautiful as ever...ahahaha...conceited me....

GROSSOLOGY EXHIBIT

Grossology

Have you heard of the newest exhibit at the Orlando Science Center? As we all know, the Orlando Science Center offers hands-on fun for all ages, kids and kids at heart alike, by engaging in interactive exhibits via live programming, giant-screen films, school field trips and school-break camps. Whether you are a student or an educator, or a parent, you will surely enjoy each wonder there. So what's the latest at the center?

Well, it's the Grossology Exhibit - Orlando Science Center.... What in the world is that? Grossology, or in other words, The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body, is a colorful, hands-on exhibit that uses humor to teach health and biology. Some of these humorous hands-on opportunities to learn about the human body are the “Tour du Nose,” which explores how the nose acts as an air filter, a smell sensor, and a mucus producer. Another is the “Gas Attack,” a pinball game that will show you how food causes gas. Another one also, which mimic the buildup of acid indigestion is the “Burp Machine,” which ends each demonstration with a gigantic burp. And there are many others, the possibilities for disgusting discoveries are endless.

This exhibit is based on a book series by renowned author Silvia Branzei, which sold over 350,000 copies worldwide. The author, Branzei, is a teacher, writer, curriculum designer, and microbiologist, strongly believes in teaching science through gross things and this theme runs throughout the exhibit. This is the second Grossology exhibit for the Orlando Science Center. It hosted a successful run of Animal Grossology in 2006.

Anyone interested??? I know I am. So here are the important details...

The said exhibit will open to the public on January 31, 2009 in collaboration with Science World, Advanced Exhibits, and Grossology author Silvia Branzei and Sponsored by Arnold Palmer Hospital....

My Baby Brother...

My baby brother went home alone... Yes, he was able to go home all by himself.

We were doing all the housecleaning at the orange house and he got bored. So he got on his bike, and I thought he was just going to ride around the lawn...But NO! He went out of the gate, and he just waved his hand at everybody and told us that he was going home on his bike. We did not believe him at first knowing that he is always afraid of going by himself...but to our surprise he was no longer there... I immediately went out of the gate to find out...and the pictures here showed me what had transpired...

Actually, I was taking pictures of the spots and areas of the house that needed fixing as documentation for the home owner, since our agreement was that whatever I will spend to fix them will be deducted from my rent... so with my camera in hand, I was able to capture the moment....

When he reached home, my mother was surprised why he went home alone...and I got the scolding when I came home...

Scolding or no scolding, I am still happy and proud of my baby brother for such milestone...

CHINESE NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE...better late than never...ahehehehe...I did not go home to my parent's house because we have been sleeping in the orange house already. But last night, we went home, Lili and I because there was a momentary black out. We were so afraid so we just went home. Ahehhehe...Home is just walking distance by the way...

When we reached home, I found "tikoy" (glutimous rice dessert) in the table complete with my mother's "palihi"...she is so fond of that every new year... we found a fresh "gabi", a head of a chinese cabbage and ginger root which is ready to spring out from the mother root... and lots of sweets...My sister said it was really a different set this time. So I asked, why she was putting them there since Chinese New Year is yet in February...or so I thought. She said I should check my calendar...and to my surprise, it was indeed Chinese New Year...

I searched about it and I found out that the dates do vary... check here. I have no pictures though...I left my camera at the orange house...darn....

So, better late than never...KUNG HEI FAT CHOI!!!!

MY RELIABLE OVEN TOASTER

I remember my life back in Cebu, renting my own pad with its own toilet and bath. I had cable connection, and a good TV...but no kitchen. Ironically, I do not always buy food outside. Not that I do not eat or anything, but I most certainly do. I have a 7 cubic feet refrigerator, rice cooker and an oven toaster. The said mountable toaster ovens came really handy on my part. Hahaha...Although, I do not have a kitchen...

So, what did I do? I made a make shift kitchen, just beside my television, lol...I bought utensils and other food preparations gadgets to use. In washing food prior to keeping them fresh inside the fridge, I use mineral water...kinda expensive but I am sure it was safer that using tap water in the lavatory. All wastes go to the garbage which was regularly gathered by garbage men at 6 in the morning.

So how do I prepare food? I told you I have my own toilet and bath complete with lavatory, shower and all...but I wash food with my drinking water. I go to the grocery and buy my stuff...frozen things to add to the fridge, vegetables and fruits, half a gallon of ice cream and meat (chicken, pork and beef). I have poultry and dairy and everything I wish to eat. Rice to cook, and all other stuff for the mouth. Hahaha, so I never lost any weight...I even have Pillsbury ready to mix cakes, muffins and flans which I cook in my oven toaster. See, I make my own breads and pastries even if I do not have a kitchen. Hahaha, can you beat that?

My oven toaster is really handy...

WHITE CLOUDS...

While walking towards Honeysweet, my daughter shouted "Look Mommy, white clouds"....so I immediately took my camera and took a picture of the clouds...

It is merely a white cloud but what my daughter told me about it is what made sense in blogging about it here.

See, this is what she said...

"Mommy, I like white clouds because that is the promise of Jesus. No more rain with white clouds, di ba mommy?"

I simply nodded my head....

Spoken from the mouth of innocent babe...My daughter acknowledges the promise of a better weather condition...

What do you think???

PROM DRESSES

My second year students announced that since Marymount only have a few Senior and Junior students, they will be joining the prom. They said they are excited because some of their crushes are Juniors and Seniors, hmmm... High School craze on crushes...been there, done that!!!

So, anyway, going back to my students. These girls are the prim and proper teens in my class. First time prom goers I should say...And they asked me where to get affordable prom dresses. I told them there are a lot of dress shoppes that offer prom dresses for rent, so they can just go around Divisoria (the old business district here in Cagayan de Oro City..not Manila's Divisoria, okay...lol...) and look for the said dresshoppes. I told them to make sure that the shoppe they visit will offer repairs so they can have prom dresses that really suit them well, according to their body structure and physique. I added that there are other shoppes that offer prom dresses to customers as first time users. It may be more expensive than the once that are readily available, but such prom dresses make dreams come true for first time prom goers. Because in that sense, the said prom dresses are tailor made for the customer, even if it is just for rent...They can have their own design and fitting, plus the advantage of using a prom dress in their own taste and color.

Well, the girls just opened their eyes wider and wider as I showed them pictures from my album...and I told them before they left that they should show me their pictures after the said event...

It's not such a long wait, as next month is already February...

Break a leg ladies....

SHE DOESN'T LIKE CHOCOLATE RICE...LOL...

...my three year old daughter exclaimed during breakfast, as Marivel placed the second helping of cooked rice for everyone to dig in. That's all she said aloud as she saw the charred rice that Marivel cooked. We all laughed and teased that the charred rice was due to her being absent minded all the time--- too much love perhaps? ahehehhehe...

Anyway, Lili, who do not understand what the teasing was all about, seemed to be bothered at the sight that she repeatedly said, "Mommy, no chocolate rice for me, okay?"...I just nodded and laughed....

As to Marivel, better luck on rice cooking next time...

OF CORN GRITS & BIRDS...

Our next door stall tenant here at Honeysweet sells rice, corn grits, animal feeds and more. Previously, we had a problem with all the flies that thrive in their stall. Lately, I notice there are not much of flies anymore. That is actually a good thing because before, all the flies that visit them will also visit us inside the shop, although our stall is closed and airconditioned. Lately, what Marivel and I notice, it is no longer flies that frequent their stall but birds. And of course, what the birds like to do when they visit? They sit on the corn grits... And the birds feed on them....hahaha...
I think God has his way of feeding his creations, really...hehehe...

KID'S PLAY...

As I am writing this post, Zarelle and River are playing. Role playing a fight scene by Spider man and the monster, with a sudden shift from a seller-buyer role play game, and a shift again to the seller becoming the monster. LOL...kids..kids..kids...

These two babies never fail to amaze us. They always use their creativity in their games. I love seeing them play like that. But on some occasions, each befall a tantrum that one can not stop...

Now, they are eating, they still role play. But good that the role play is about food and the person eating---them...ahahahah...I guess it's not so bad, so I won't have to reprimand them if they "play" with their food, coz the food eventually ends up in theirs mouths, as part of the game they are playing...ahahaha...
