Crazed Over Cinderella's Sister..

Yeah, I have been crazy about this Korean soap opera entitled Cinderella's Sister (Step Sister) which is now adapted in Philippine television after its success all over Asia last year.. I just love how the story is winding.. and tonight, I decided to look for save videos online and gladly found many at You Tube.. I just love all sound tracks used.

Below is some of them:

Zaren, as how the Philippine adaptation called the female main character, is always running away from her brokenness. She had been having issues on trust and mistrust, and well, who could blame her? She grew up with a very painful, not so happy, frustrating childhood, brought about by her very ambitious mother, who ended up marrying the father of Brianna, the second female character. Then there's Timothy, the guy who Brianna is in love with, but remains to be in love with Zaren.. And of course, William, the little brother of Zaren, son of her mother's ex-live in partner, the drunkard who they run away from, which led them eventually to meet with Brianna's father and well, ended in the marriage of Brianna's father, David, and Zaren's mom.. The story is quite complex, but I love every scene..

Anyway, what I am amused about is how William has transformed after eight years. From a chubby kid to macho guy. I wonder, if the story is ever real, did William ever use wrestling singlets to transform his body?

Here's my favorite video:

And of course, the finale, which made me cry... I so love this Koreanovela..

Anyway, I will still continue to watch the Philippine adaptation...

Have You Heard Of Cornwall and its beautiful cottages?

Visiting the UK has always been one of my dreams and when I finally managed to save up enough to buy a plane ticket I was the happiest person in the world. Since I was a kid, England had always been into my life one way or another; the kings and queens, the princesses, its castles, its naval fleet . And then the dominance of the English language as one of the most widely spoken in the world.

During my visit I was lucky enough to visit so many great places of tourist interested, predominantly in London as one would expect. All those typical landmarks of aspiring architecture such as the houses of parliament at Westminster, the Big Ben, the majestic London Castle - all were looking incredibly real! However, all that was pretty much expected but what I wasn't expecting was to fall in love with other not so well-known parts of the country.

One of my English friends asked me one day whether I was tired of strolling around London's busy roads and squares and he offered to drive me to his homeland, somewhere in the remote county of Cornwall. I certainly agreed even though I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much out of that three-day trip. After a six hour drive from London, the whole surrounding changed completely; green, lush hills were surrounding us while the cliffs by the sea were looking so dramatic. When we arrived in Penzance it was clear that we had just arrived to a special place with different architecture and up to a certain degree, people.

I didn't know that Cornish people used to have their own language and I found it sad that they lost it because of the dominance of the English language. When we arrived a my friend's place somewhere in the country side I couldn't believe in my eyes. It was a typical place that I thought would only exist in the fairy tales but apparently cottages are typical stone-built dwellings in the South West of England, still used to be inhabited by people. I later found out that Cornwall holiday cottages were popular among British family holidaymakers.

My time in Cornwall was definitely unforgettable and I enjoyed every single minute in beautiful towns such as St Ives, Penzance. Marazion with the impressive St Michaels Mount castle. I feel blessed to have experienced so many Cornwall highlights during just three days. The county is rather small but very scenic and every few minutes you feel you are in a different place. So, England is not just about London and its countryside is equally beautiful and definitely worth a long visit.

It's On The News..

Well, all I can say is that, I never ask to be paid for a good review.. I do not even write a review, but simply blog about what I have experienced.. and most of the food featured here are bought or prepared by thy hands, or given by relatives and friends.. My take on the issue of the BIG BAD BLOGGER is actually more about competition between journalism and citizens journalism. It's just a scenario that may have been blown up a bit to stress a point..

Still the same, this issue will not stop me and my fellow bloggers to blog about what we feel, think and experienced.. And for the record, we may accept paid posts, but they are from legitimate companies abroad like Payu2blog, IZEA, Microworkers, Loud Launch, Sponsored Reviews and many others..  Usually for text linking, more or less..

If there is a company that I blog about, and it is darn negative, it may be because I, as a customer, was not treated properly... We all deserve the value we pay for our hard earned money.. Don't you agree?

Baldwin Brothers..

Hollywood is lucky to have the four Baldwin brothers as actors.. Of them all, I love Alec the most.. and William the sexiest.. Hey, if you do not know them, well, you better check out movies like Backdraft, It's Complicated, and many others.. Google them, if you must.. But if you find Baldwin hardware, well, that's another story, so better do another search, hehehe..

Even if Alec have aged a bit, he is still a good actor and a hunk at that.. Stephen and Daniel are cute guys too.. No wonder they get so much attention and appreciation as the four siblings band together for their mother's charity, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.

I wish I could see them in flesh...

Out of Libya

I am happy that a lot of Filipinos are being evacuated by their employers in Libya. The government is doing a great thing following up on them their. Although there are still others who were not able to join the other evacuees for reasons that they are not able to cross teh border as they have left their passports, still, they are being taken cared of by their employers. On the other hand, I read that Americans were ferried out from Libya and are now on their way to the US.. Good for them. I bet those ferries have whistler radar detector to help them in their journey..

I guess all we have to do is pray for everyone's safety..

Better Opportunities

A family friend's daughter just passed the Nursing Licensure Examinations held last December 2010. Prior to that, she had been busy applying for science jobs in the different high schools and colleges in the city. Well, I am sure she will get better chances now that she is a licensed or registered nurse. She could apply as school nurse if she wants to.. Or she could work in the hospitals.. Anything is possible. For as long as she does not fall short of self expectations, as well as dropping her self esteem off her palms..

Anyway, they will be visiting us next weekend so we could probably talk about these matters when she's finally here.. I just think there are better opportunities for her now..

Sleep Please...

For two weeks now, I have trouble sleeping on time. I mean, yes, I sleep late as in five in the morning. But that was already normal for me, as my sleep pattern had changed drastically. Unfortunately for a week now, I find it difficult to sleep at home. One time, Lili and I had to check in a hotel in the middle of town just to be able to sleep. My sister then joked that I should take sleeping aids.. uhm.. sleeping pills or tablets perhaps? But no.. I don't think it's gotten worse as that.. Nevertheless, it would be helpful if I read about lunesta reviews.. I mean, who knows, I might take a plunge at that one day..

In the meantime, I shall try to sleep as much as I can.. Can't allow me to get hospitalized again for stress and lack of sleep. Chong Hua Hospital became richer by P 49,900 plus.. for a two days and two nights bed rest a few years ago. Good thing it was covered by my health card.. Woah!

Let's Eat Japanese..

When I was living in Singapore, my sister and I were always on the lookout for diet pills that work. They have good Chinese medicine clinics, so we always drop by whenever we see one. Then our uncle told us not to take them, instead, eat different kind of diet. He was talking about Japanese food. He said that they are low in fat and are mostly made of veggies.. One time, he took us to Sakae Sushi and we ate there for lunch..

At the end of our meal, we were full, but not heavy and bloated.. Well, that must be because of the Japanese green tea that was served afterwards...

Not Food, But Sleep

Would you eat a lot if there were so much food in front of you? Or would you feel a certain fullness just by looking at them? Well, lately, I have been sleeping and waking up late, that I do not feel hunger at all. Not that I am using hydroxycut or anything, but really. I am not in the mood for eating no matter how much food is served in front of me. They are my favorites, but I did not want to partake of them.

Well, my sisters told me to eat because our father made them, but I never really had the appetite.. Instead, I am craving for more sleep..

Immersions...

I wanna move to Tagaytay or Baguio, where it's cold. Yes, and live in a house with glass mosaic tiles while strawberries or pineapples abound. Maybe in the middle of a pineapple plantation huh? I think it will be fun to live that way.. But then, I have to consider just once. On the contrary, can I really survive without my Lili in sight? Nuh-- forget it. I will stay where Lili is, or I take her with me. If it can't be comfortable for her, then I won't go. That's just it.

I remember when I was in college we had to live far away amongst farmers and fisher folks. And I was assigned at Sumilao,  Bukidnon, and lived in the middle of a corn field. It was fun.. I had total communion with nature and God..

Scars

A knee scar is better than an acne scar on the face or back. Well, that is what I always believe in. At least with knee scars, they can be hidden by wearing clothes that are below the knee, or just right above the knee line to cover knee scars. But with any scar on the face? Would you be able to hide them? That is why a lot of people splurge on a good acne cream to make them go away before they can even create scars..

But with scars and broken hearts, it takes time for healing to take place.. A child who is scarred for life is truly a challenge to raise, teach and understand.. Sometimes, just being with kids who are scarred eats you up and overwhelms you to the core.. I make sure my daughter, brother and niece do not undergo that, as there are many kids today who may live in huge houses, or enjoy freedom and wealth, but whose parents are not there to care for them or whenever they are needed..

Celebrating Valentines Day at Home

Modern living room furniture and romance is quite bundled and tangled in this season of love. Why? Well, most couples these days celebrate Valentines day, not on the exact date for so many varied reasons, than most. Of course, modern furniture have a way of creating a romantic ambiance, add aromatherapy candles and lighting, plus music--- then what do you get? Even your ordinary dining room furniture can do the same.. But of course, you just need to have lots of determination for the said "feel" of the room. Lots of creativity and positive energy..

Others, as they wish for a more professional stint to make the day special would check in at a hotel in town or out of town, and celebrate Valentines Day there.. But if you must celebrate the special day at home, a little twist here and there, and you're all set.. Oh, do not forget the food, the roses and the romantic music---

But us, we celebrated it with Pizza, Barbecue and a Brazo de Mercedes, during our simple Valentines Day family dinner...
 Italian Pizzas with a twist...
Below is a simple barbecue recipe... to die for..
and of course, Brazo de Mercedes....
Simple and Yummy Valentines Day everyone.. My family enjoyed this as much as I did.. Hope you have a blast in yours..

Ready for Valentines Day?

My friend Larry and his wife have no specific plans for Valentines day, but their son, Jeremiah, have plans to surprise his parents. He had been tinkering with the car audio for some special effect, to which ever project, he is not telling anyone. He said that he will be controlling the sound that will come out of it on Valentines day, so that his parents will have a romantic ambiance, even inside their car. Hmm. I still do not have any clue how he will be able to pull it off, but I trust that he knows what he is doing.

He has also ordered from me and my sister a dozen fruit bars and a bouquet to match.. Good thing he is not into ladies at his age.. If he is, I know he will be busy pursuing his lady love with all his antics and gadgetry..

Least, he is ready.. How about you?

Concrete Polishing Tools

My uncle once told us that, if we are to have a buyer for the condominium unit, we must take care of the unit. So when he noticed that there were cracks on the tile of the main bathroom, he sent word to the administrator for some workers to fix it. So workers immediately came for tile removal, and worked their way to removing not just three reported cracked tiles, but also those we noticed to be changed within the period of their work. They brought with them tools, such as tile cutters, floor grinder, even a polisher for concrete polishing, after the tile replacement have dried. It was truly hard work for them, Indians and Bangladesh workers. I wonder if they have been trained for such exquisite labor. Or if they have visited the website www.innovatechproducts.com, where gadgets and tools for their kind of work are featured.

They have the usual gadgets for doing jobs like thrashing and removing tiles, concrete and even cement. They have quite unique and advanced products like the Terminator, which removes tiles, flooring and all other materials used for flooring jobs, in half the time. By far, it saves the workers not only time, but also energy, so they will definitely be able to cover a huge area in half the time. Of course, after removal, then replacement, after-which, making the replacement shine is the next task of the workers. With the patented product known as i-shine, the workers will be able to bring life to the dull floor.

Anyway, i-shine and Terminator are just two of the best machines and gadgets sold at innovatechproducts.com, and if you visit their site, I am sure you will be amazed at all the others that you will find. Overall, their products will revolutionize replacement and repair of floors and walls. Quite a good investment if you are in the business..

Harakiri or Guilt?

Rest in Peace General Angelo Reyes.. I would like to say that even if I am not really a fan of the late general.  I have nothing against him also. If he had done something wrong, I am sure it is just a matter of following orders from his bosses. That's the military way, "Obey first, before you complain". A lot of people speculate that the general committed suicide to keep a little dignity that was stripped off him during the senate hearing. A lot also are speculating that it is in fact an admission of guilt that he killed himself.

Ah.. They are both speculations that no one can actually prove to be so. Given the benefit of the doubt, unless proven otherwise, he still remains NOT guilty of the accusations as per hearing. If you ask me, which I doubt anyone would, his suicide in front of his parents tomb is some form of helplessness that every child feels whenever a serious matter is at hand. We all go back to our parents, no matter how old we are.  Age is not a hindrance for such comfort. But being that they lay there in silence as they are six feet below the ground, then it's really pointless. I just wish the general did not do what he had done, as I feel for the bereaved family he left behind. Whatever the speculations, accusations, and how others saw him after that fateful hearing at the senate, he is after all, a father, grandfather and husband to his loved ones.. I pray that justice will prevail and that his death may not hamper the investigations. After all, every Juan dela Cruz deserve to know the truth..

Tikoy Anyone?

We just celebrated Chinese New Year with this tikoy.. It symbolizes good things and more blessing for the new year. And though we are not a Chinese family, having lots of tikoy at home during Chinese New Year is a must, plus all the other beliefs, particularly about food. What to have on the table and what not to put. I wonder if most Chinese families would also prepare adapexin-p for all those goodies.. Ahh.. Chinese New Year is celebrated mostly with lots of food, so it just follows that dieting may be jeopardized.. Or maybe not, hehehe..

Anyway, Tikoy is best eaten when soft, but when it has hardened, that's the time that it can be cooked.. This one that we had even had instructions on the box..

A great family holiday at Breezes Resort

Are you tired of the way you live your life in the hustle and bustle of city life? Do you want to taste different cuisines, share thoughts on different recipes with your mom or grandmother, or simply be crazy with your siblings? Want to relieve yourself of stress? Ah, sounds like it's me who wants all that. Seriously!

I want to enjoy every bit of luxury that a vacation spot can offer me, whether it's outdoor fun or indoor relaxation. Perhaps after that, a great meal as I dine and travel to the different places and localities in every corner of the world.

Well, I am sure anyone here will agree with me when I say that life would be greater if and when we see and enjoy sights and sounds and have a gastronomically charged feast as we go along. To explore and learn different cultures and traditions --- Ahh ... but that is way too expensive. I know that! To enjoy great amenities and have a relaxed and peaceful state while traveling is not at all affordable unless, our grand escape offers family all inclusive vacations that will help enable families to love and understand each other better.

Rich or poor, we need to be closer to our kin and have great relationships within our family circle. A happy family will always be complete with an element of fun, and laughter, as part of the bonding process. Laughter alone allows each family member to get to know and enjoy one another. But since it comes with a price, affordable family vacations are most often offered by resorts and vacation spots. Breezes Resorts have all inclusive vacation packages to help in this area. Guests have great deals to choose from at www.breezes.com, and an easy budget scheme to make their load lighter.

So dream of a vacation, and it can be yours. And if you are undecided, go with Breezes Resorts, and you'll never go wrong! By far, they are the answer a great family holiday that seems impossible to have.

PR 2 is BACK! Yahoo!

I was busy writing about a client's advertisement on shoes womens, and shoes for men, which will be sent to three media when I discovered a great change that had me jumping for  joy.. Well, almost, hehehe. My client is building his site for his shoe company somewhere and I am just so happy to be of service, since I love shoes.. But this love for shoes technically, was forgotten for a couple of minutes as I floated into bliss. Of course, I am busy, but learning that the PR or page rank of this blog has come back, it's a different story.  I no longer have time to check important matters such as PR. ow I knew mine went up again was a matter of chance. I was checking my client's site's PR and well, it got good results too. Then out of the blue, I checked mine, and voila! It came back.. Imagine, this blog lost its page rank for almost a year.. It was middle of January 2010-- and I thought it will come back again after a few days, but it didn't. So I let go of the possibility of it coming back in the middle of the year. Actually, I checked from time to time, but, it really went down to ZERO-- none! To avoid heartbreaks from expecting its return, I simply chose to forget about the PR of this blog-- and now? Well, I am so happy it's back to PR 2.. whew.. Thank you LORD!

For us bloggers, page rank means a lot.. just so you know..

IPONAN RIVER IN DANGER by Oka Salcedo

I could not help myself but share what I have discovered at Facebook tonight. Well, it so happened that my former boss was tagged in some of the photos shared, and the title of the photo album was catchy enough, that I looked.

The issues presented upon the photo album is not something we just can brush aside and say nothing of.  So, I feel that I must do my part as a person living in this same city, even if I do not belong in that said barangay. I know I have some  friends and relatives living in the area. And even if I do not, I will still do the same.

Below is a thread, kindly read..  The owner of the Album is Mr. Oscar S. Salcedo..

And below is a printscreen of one of his photos:

I guess this is my way of helping.. I can not think of any other way but to disseminate important information, as provided..

What's Wrong with DFA CDO Window #7?

My sister and her father in law were at the Department of Foreign Affairs office this morning to process passports as well as claim a renewed passport, respectively. Her father in law was about to pay for newly applied passports when they heard a loud sound similar to a fired gun, but was actually a man who broke the glass of window #7. The cashier had to close on the paying public as matters may become worse due to the said incident. My sister on the other hand was caught in between people she did not know due to a semi-stampede that happened. All people who had gotten afraid rushed to go outside the building.

It took twenty minutes before the police came along with ABS CBN people. The security guard from DFA did not even cuff the man saying that they do not have any hand cuffs. When the police came, the man was escorted towards the patrol car, business resumed at DFA in the afternoon.

So what triggered the man to do what he has done? According to the people who was near window #7, the man presented all his requirements but was told that by the employee at DFA that he still lacked one of the requirements. The man, who showed him the list given by the office complained that he has brought everything that was listed, so he should not have missed any one of them. But he was brushed off by the employee, thus, out of frustration, he smashed the window.

Hmm.  I was not there, my sister was not near enough, so we do not really know for sure what could have transpired. But there were lots of hear-says and rumors that the employee at window #7 is such a pain in the neck. Some of the people in the semi-stampede even related other incidents where friends and their relatives were also given a difficult time by this said employee. One person in the crowd said that a cousin who is supposed to leave for Canada, lost a job opportunity because the employee at window #7 gave her a difficult time. The cousin lacked, according to the employee, her baptismal certificate. That and that alone, which, according to the list of requirements, are simply

This is quite sad, what happened today. In other countries, there is a system that is followed and only one instruction is relayed. Here in the Philippines, the process of application for passports, even professional license and many others, are taken to be so complicated. Mainly because there is no uniform instruction from employees. Different windows have different characters attending people who are confused and frustrated about the kind of service and system that we have here. Some are too strict, while others are approachable and friendly. And I wonder why. Yeah, why are some employees hard on people for a passport? Isn't that reason enough why some people resort to those midnight market for passports? I think that that is a reason too. Aside of course for those who have records that do not allow them to legally get a passport.

While in Singapore, I have met and been to their government offices because of my uncle's business. He is now a Singaporean and why he likes Singapore better than the Philippines, is the fact that Filipinos are not treated properly here. In Singapore, they are very strict with their laws. Their rules and regulations are strictly followed and citizens, residents as well as visitors will really get what they deserved according to the law, should any rule be broken. Whether rich or poor, the rules apply. But here's the thing, they may be very strict, but they never cause frustrations and I have not heard anyone getting angry at the government. Why? Because people there are satisfied with how service is conducted, regardless from the government or the private.

Why can't we be like them?? I guess it's because we have lots of unhappy workers in the government., or even in private offices. One unhappy person affects everything. It's a domino effect.
