Introducing the books written by my favorite author Amy Tan...

On Pot Racks

In American movies, I always see pot rocks like the picture on your left. They have beautiful spacious kitchens courtesy of the very smart way of designing their kitchens. Looks like every space is utilized and are fully functional. Most of us here in the Philippines have the conventional designs similar to the one on the right. Although some have built in pot racks that look nice too.

Pot racks are important in a kitchen where the cook really cooks... Can you imagine not having a pot rack to organize your wares? I can't. That's why I dream of remodeling the orange house, but of course it is just a rented space so I think I will just have to dream and dream until I have my own house. I could perhaps include enclume pot racks that would look elegant and nice in the new kitchen. An enclume pot rack never goes out of style. It is always the best functional accessory in the kitchen so far... I was told that enclume potracks can make the cook's cooking more delicious.. and why is that? Because having pots organized in them gives the cook a more heavenly feeling. And when the cook feels good, she or he puts more passion in the cooking. Would you agree? I know I would. wink.. wink..

1000 POSTS

I can't believe it. I have reached 1000 posts already on this blog.. I find it really amazing because this blog has become my lifeblood, my system of release, my therapy. WOW! 1000 posts? I just can't believe it.. but my dashboard does not lie...

Well, I just wanna say THANK YOU to all my readers and followers. Without your support guys, I don't think I could have survived blogging and distressing in the blogosphere...

MARAMING SALAMAT PO!! (THANK YOU VERY MUCH..)

PANTY HOSE & MORE

Diedre and I had been chatting for almost an hour now and she has invited Toby and Zeth for us to have a group chat. Then Amyline and Doodles followed. It was a lively chat with all new information that are quite revealing. Then popped a very interesting topic that I am not even sure really exists. Well it happened that Zeth had invited a new guy to join us and this guy, Louie, mentioned that he just finished his Pantyhose Chat. What? I was shocked and amused at the same time. How can people simply talk about pantyhose for crying out loud?.. But truly there is an explanation for that. Well, if we consider it as a site where fans of pantyhose would go to to meet other people, then surely that is what is going on there. And like most chat rooms, there are good chatters and the bad ones who may or may not influence you in one way or another...

I admire Louie's honesty when he was asked why he went to that site and he managed to tell us that people get curious sometimes.. And what better way to satisfy curiosity as doing anything or everything just to get the scoop of information desired in the first place.. . I must admit that that is new to me, and I thank God for my chat friends for helping me understand a few things about the blogosphere... well... I am just so happy I learned something new today...

Lili's New Feeding Bottle

This is my daughter's new feeding bottle. What? Yes, feeding bottle? I took the liberty of buying her a feeding bottle despite the fact that she was already weened. She stopped drinking milk via the feeding bottle at an early phase. Before she turned two, she was already taking all her milk in a glass. I thought that that was remarkable. But lately, I noticed that she had been sucking her thumb more and more and I noticed that she sucks her thumb at dawn, while she is fast asleep. So dawn today, I fed her using her feeding bottle to stop her from sucking her thumb. My theory is that perhaps the thumb sucking is due to an early weening and that probably she is hungry while asleep.. It's just a theory. And when I fed her using the bottle, she only managed 1/4 of the bottle. So maybe she is not hungry.. I see my three year old as a big girl already but judging from her age, she is not. Some children her age would even take milk form the bottle all the time..

I know I have raised her as advanced in all her "age tasks", early ween, early toilet training and everything early.. Whew.. As a Psychology graduate, I am now anxious of what psychological make up my child will have..

MOVERS MOVERS...

Shaun is moving and needs Dallas Movers urgently. But he is not worried because he knows he can easily get them to do the job he wants done. He is after all an avid fan as well as a loyal patron. He moves a lot he says and with every move, they are the people he hires for the job. He told me to inform all my friends and relative who live in the Dallas area to patronize his favorite mover. So I started telling friends and family about them. Guess what? Shaun is not the only one. My Aunt Marissa said they are the best in the entire state... Oh well, Shaun is indeed good at eying the best...

BAMBOO SHOOT GALORE

A long holiday entails family togetherness. What better way to celebrate at home than to prepare the family’s yummy feast.. Well, technically, I only prepared two dishes yesterday.. And this one is what i am sharing in this blog. The other one will be shared at the other blog, Empowered MOM.

ON ORGANIC FOOD...

When I was living in Manila, I had an Australian-Filipino friend, Rixie, who introduced me to organic food as a substitute for my daily food intake. We often go to UP Diliman Campus and eat at "Likhang Diwa", a restaurant that serves all organic foodies just around the campus. I especially like the organic rice together with "Pinaputuk na Tilapia" and the special shake that's made from organic fruits and vegetables.

Rixie has been used to eating organic food sydney when she was living in Australia. So that explains the fact that she is a lover and supporter of anything grown organically. That's fifteen years ago. I received an email from her recently and she says she now has a restaurant in Sydney that's similar to the concept of Likha Diwa.. She says she got more inspired when she met
theorganicgrocer.com.au, which is an online organic food retailer doing a widely delivery in Sydney and some other areas in Australia. I sure miss Rixie... In one way or another, she has helped me realize the benefits of eating organic food... Thanks Rix, I know you are reading this now... You go girl...

Enjoying a Long Weekend..

Today marks the city's charter day.. No Class, No Work--- definitely a holiday! Wow, we have had a very long weekend so far...Last Friday we celebrated a national holiday-- Independence Day-- so that's 4 days off from everything... But for a blogger mom who earns online, no day is ever a holiday.. tasks are everywhere and of course, I have to take them otherwise no money will come... But no regrets. I like this job.. Tomorrow though, I shall be starting again with my tutorials as my clients have informed me already that we shall resume.. And I have additional clients for my other teachers at Honeysweet... Great News indeed...

So here I am, blogging, and enjoying Lili's company at the same time.. I can't believe how much she's grown. She made a father's day card for her dad, and for Tatay... and she's doing another one for Daddy Bastian.. All in hues of green, red and blue--- Such creativity.. I shall post them when she's done..

So lemme end this post as I say, "Happy 59th Charter Day Cagayan de Oro City"... I am lovin it here... CDO Rocks!!!

BATHROOM LOVE

Who among you here would go gaga over bathrooms? Well, count me in... When I first moved out of my parents house to work in Cebu, I lived with my Tita Carie. It was fine because we had a clean bathroom at her place. But when I started living on my own, my first and foremost consideration in finding a living space is a good clean bathroom that I could maintain. The first boarding house I lived in was a tragedy for me.. It was a very huge house with three rooms where an elderly couple live in. I decided to live there because they a very clean bathroom. But, I did not last long there. Marianing, or the female version of her OC (obsessive compulsive) husband got me really irritated and traumatized my poor condescending soul. And the bathroom was their way of pestering me and the other boarders. After we take baths we should leave the bathroom clean and sweet smelling... well, any person with etiquette and manners know how that can be conducted. But the couple is too much. Every time someone uses the bathroom, any one of them would guard from the outside and repeatedly yells that the bathroom should be clean when we are done. Not once did it happen, nor twice, but all the time we lived with them. Until all four of us had to say goodbye.. We moved in an apartment where we own the entire place and the bathroom use was turned heavenly as no one is itching his or her way to piss the person who is inside it... hahaha.. . Why am I citing this stories here? Well, just recently, I have had my share of woes and worries regarding our bathroom at the orange house. I am the one doing the cleaning and our house help is the one making it dirty.. UGH!!! She wears her slippers inside with all the mud from outside and cleans her feet and leaves the bathroom floor dirty.. I have scolded her about such act but she never seems to understand.. One of these days, I think I am going to fire her.. Well, that is if she will do it again..

The bathroom is the most important part of the house. It is where we take comfort and release tensions and stress by a soothing bath or relieving ourselves when nature calls. Surely, we must do anything and everything to keep it clean, sweet smelling, orderly and germ free at all times. We can also add accessories and stuff that make the bathroom more pleasing for its users. If you wish to know more about bathrooms, go to www.betterbathrooms.com and find ways and means of beautifying your bathroom at home..

LOCKERS SEARCH

When I was studying at Montessori de Oro, we did not have lockers. The school did not have to since were yet a very small, close knit community of friends and cousins enrolled in school... But when my sisters, Honey and Sweet transferred to Corpus Christi School, they were so amazed at what convenience School Lockers can give every student. Then they heard one student who just arrived from the US bragging about his former school's very huge Gym Lockers that he need not bring anything in school or at home anymore because he kept everything inside his gym locker... Plus the fact that he has his own school locker to put his other belongings... well, I could just imagine how lucky he was then. The only locker I have ever used is one of the Wood Lockers at the office. Well, technically, each employee had to have a locker for important stuff since we were sharing non-permanent tables and chairs as we worked... And at that time, a wood locker is definitely good enough for each of us. Then one day our boss thought of upgrading and told us to look for Lockers for sale. When I left the company, I heard they have new steel lockers added to the old ones. And I thought they were upgrading..lol.. It's more like adding to me.. wink.. wink..

Well, thinking about it now is really something.. As I too am looking for a locker for sale. Everyday I am getting paranoid here at the orange house. Ever since my sister told us about the masked robber that jumped the fence, I have not been getting a good night's sleep. I have open cabinets here with no locks. I would prefer that important things and valuables be placed in a locker for security purposes. I am hoping to find one that's affordable soon... I pray...

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT LIFETIME STUDY CENTER...

I want DIRECT TV...

I have been talking about Direct TV in my previous posts, and frankly, I am tired of simply talking about it. I want one for myself... Well, it all started with my cousin Blue telling me how wonderful it is to have a Satellite Directv. And, being in the US is really something to envy should you want a Direct Satellite TV. They have so many to choose from there, while here in the Philippines, we have limited opportunities for that. Anyhow, I know it will sooner or later be here as well. What with the success of Direct TV in the US and UK.. It will come sooner or later, but it will come. I am definitely sure about that..

I remember, when we were in high school Cable TV was something that is too difficult to come by. Only the rich can have cable connection because it is very expensive. And there is only one company that holds all subscribers here in our city. Years passed and even the poorest of the poor here in Cagayan de Oro City has a cable connection... So, point of the matter is, Direct TV may not yet be available here now, but it will be soon. Sure we have Dream Satellite but it is not as good as Direct TV... So i guess I shall be waiting for that day..

Sleeping With Pooh

Two Christmasses ago, this Winnie Pooh that Lili is embracing was given by Mommy Edith as a Christmas present for Zarelle. And perhaps, the only gift she will ever get from "them". This picture amazes me because this is the first time she slept with Pooh. She always sleeps with Piggypiggy or Moo, but not Pooh. She tells me she just wants Pooh on the cabinet. Not on her bed.. I don't exactly know the reason why, but maybe, like her other toys, she just wants them seen and not used so much. Believe it or not, my daughter has many toys that she just wants to look at. Well, technically she plays with them but after awhile she tells me to keep them when she's done. And how longs does she play with them? Not long.. She prefers her favorite toys which she do not actually consider as toys.. Like Piggypiggy, or Moo-- They are not treated by Lili as toys that's why she takes them along wherever she goes... Hmmm.. I wonder... But the story behind her hugging Pooh to sleep is funny... She told me Pooh is afraid and can't sleep so she needs to tuck him with her to sleep... And where is Moo and and where is Piggypiggy? They had a long bath with Bisa in the morning of this day.. hahaha, So I guess that explains it then.. What do you think?

Las Vegas HVAC Air Conditioning

Olive says "I love Las Vegas HVAC Air Conditioning too". Hmmm.. Olive and I had been chatting about home improvement and stuff like finding the right persons for the job. From our topic about finding the right electrician in her home front, Baltimore, now we we are talking about HVAC Air conditioning in his boyfriend's area. And boy, this woman is really something. She is like an online chatting home improvement support, lol... I just love how she can tell you which company to go to and which to avoid. She is recommending www.lasvegasnvhvac.com for HVAC Air conditioning needs, in Las Vegas.

FOR SALE STRING BEANS...

I went to the clinic of Our Lady Of Fatima Therapeutic Foundation and this guy happened to pass by.. Most of us inside called him in so came inside. And there before our very eyes are freshly harvested string beans from their very own vegetable garden. Immediately I bought 2 bundles. Each bundle costs P 20.00 only so that's P 40.00 all in all.. The rest of the people inside the clinic also bought their share.. So that this guy left with all his string beans sold....

I am sure God has a purpose for us going there at that very hour.. perhaps to buy this guy's string beans to buy food for his family before supper...

Baltimore Electrician

"I love a Baltimore Electrician". That's what Olive said while we were chatting tonight. This girl, like me, have had her share of searches for the best electrician to do electrical jobs at home. And like me, she has fallen a victim many times over. So now I realize, it's not only here in the Philippines that you experience being balled and cheated in terms of odd jobs. Wherever you are in the world, there are really cheats and scams. But thank God there are also honest to goodness workers to help in times of need. You really get what your money's worth after all.. And an electrician like that is truly a blessing... For more information, visit their website www.baltimoremdelectrician.com and see what Olive have discovered...

NOW I FIND IT STRANGE...

The anonymous woman who gave me comments and who had been following my blog is now gone... Or is she? Hmm.. I haven't heard from her.. Not a single new post on her made up blog also.. Could it be that she has gone tired of following and checking up on me? Well, I think she is tired.. She gave me an identity though... her identity.. Although, I do not really believe that that is her real identity... Funny, but I kinda miss her.. I no longer see the double life in feedjit (two different places mark her visits, one from the US and one from Luzon)... I am still left wondering what her real purpose is.. Although I kinda have an idea... I hope she's well..

On Friends & Classmates...

I always thought Lili and River are inseparable. But yesterday, I saw that Lili has found a new friend, and River was also playing with his new friend. This uncle and niece duo has finally seen better.. Now they are becoming more and more sociable... And I like that..

It;s really nice to see that they have finally adjusted in school. And yesterday was just their second day.. I hope everything will go well today..

I wont be there to see the developments personally, but Bisa will have to answer all my questions later...

Later.... Can't wait...

MOMMY IS NOT PRESENT TODAY...

I feel funny. I have decided that today, my daughter's and my baby brother's third day in school, I will take a leave of absence. So here I am doing my tasks at home and online. I wanted to test if my daughter will be fine without me there. Anyway, my father and Bisa are there for them... For two days I have watched intently as a mother should... But now I feel really funny not having my daughter here in the house. I am playing the TV loudly and I am at her favorite channel, Playhouse Disney.. Gosh, I think the separation anxiety hit me more than my three year old.. UGH!! I can't wait to see her later after school...
I have never felt this way before.. Whew.. now I could imagine how it would feel like when she reaches college or gets married...

MOVERS ...

I have always been on the move. When I had my first job in Cebu, I have moved living spaces many times. And in each move, I have accumulated many things that it took me some time to move. Then when I came home, I had to bring everything home. My second move, I went as far as working in Manila but had to live in my uncle's place in Quezon City at first. Soon enough, I moved and lived 198 steps away from the office.. That's how near my boarding house was. But of course, I lived on the 3rd floor so it was kinda
tiring moving in and moving out. When my other uncle moved to an apartment in Makati, I went to live with them. I had a bigger room and the rent was just right for me. I was on the second floor then, so it also gave me a hard time moving in and moving out. Why? Because like in Cebu, I have brought many things with me and have added new things.. so accumulated a lot that my Tito laughed and told me I should get a house... lol.. Anyway, what made every move a little easier to manage is that I have people who helped me move my things. And the cost is simply a round of pizza and drinks.. Maybe if I had nobody to help me I would have hired movers like the Houston Movers to do the job... Thank God for friends and family who are always there when I need them.. And thank God my friends and relatives are scattered all over.. that way, wherever I go, I have a helping hand.. I love you guys.. Mwah...

MERKADO NETWORK'S ANSWER & MINE

I got this comment from Ron of Merkado Network in my previous post regarding my bad experience with Merkado Network... So I guess it's a different company now? Operating differently than what it is previously? Okay.. It used to be a social network of some sorts, now a shopping network... It still doesn't change the fact that I took an opp thinking that it was an opp from buyblogreviews because the person I was communicating with at that time made me do so many things as a requirement in the hope that in the end I will be paid... Only to find out that it is against the protocol of buyblogreviews... I am not after that meager amount as the opp promised. I am simply sharing my bad experience here, and venting out... after all, this is my blog... I still have the thread in my buyblogreviews inbox... kept it to remind me what company to avoid in the future.. So taking into consideration that this company is not the same company that did not pay me for all the requirements, then I apologize for barking at the wrong tree...but I hope the spam comments we received recently will stop also... It is what triggered me to vent out in the first place...

This is Ron of Merkado Network.

We are notified by our concern friend regarding to your post.

The buyblogreview sponsored post was discontinue due of miscommunication between it's management and us.

We believe that we pay all the bloggers that we talked that time(on the Social networking days).

Please call +639325290050 regarding to your concern or email us directly at support@merkadonetwork.com to assist this issue

Once again, WE ARE NOT SCAM. This is now a Philippine based shopping site and we do hope that we could fix this issue.

WE ARE VERY SORRY FOR MISUNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE BLOGGER AND US.

DREAM FURNITURE

I love this bed. I saw this online today and I guess it is one rustic furniture that I consider having at the orange house..

I am also sure Lili will love it too.. She just loves nature more than I do. So I guess this dream piece will really make its mark..

SECOND DAY IMPROVEMENT

Finally, the little twin stars are sitting in front during class.. I requested Teacher Luz to have Lili and River sit in front so they will cooperate and listen while teacher Marissa is having her class with them. Yesterday, River was sleepy and was fidgeting most of the time. While Lili had a difficult time listening because she had a noisy seat mate...

That's an improvement on the second day.. They were cooperating and had fun at the same time..

RECIPES

I love to cook and bake. That is a skill I have learned by heart. And that is also a skill that my family is famous for. I love to cook for friends and family. When I want to please someone or some people I usually do so by cooking. And yet, there are times that I am able to accidentally please people who I did not expect to be able to eat what I have prepared on the table. When I was younger, my mother would always grade my cooking. I would get an 80% as the lowest, if the food is not as good as my mother's taste buds' liking... I find that as a challenge. I always want my mom to give me a 90% or even a 100%.. but she never gives me a perfect score. She said, there should always be room for improvement in cooking. With that in mind, I begun to experiment on food recipes that have been with us for generations, carefully hand written by my mother's grandmother handed down from generation to generation. My mom did not give me her recipes yet, but I have known how to cook our family's favorite dishes by heart. And because I experiment, I sometimes give them a twist... Oh how I love the faces of my siblings when I serve the food on the table.. And my dad's too.. But my mother? She sometimes scolds me for experimenting. She says it's a waste of the ingredients if the people in the house won't like the food prepared. But of course, my father and siblings would always prove my mother wrong, lol...

It's funny because when I was in high school, I was so sure I wanted to become a Culinary Arts Teacher. I wanted to teach people how to cook and develop such passion for cooking. But hey, that's one course I was never even able to start due to the fact that there is no school that offers such course in the University level here in Cagayan de Oro City. Anyhow, I still ended up as a teacher anyway..lol...

Right now, cooking has simply become a hobby of sorts. I still compile recipes for Zarelle's sake.. and I am still hoping I could cook for the person I love one of these days...

Lili's First...

This is Lili's first consultation with her teacher at LSC. I am amazed because ly little girl is able to get what the teacher told her to read..

And she listened well.. My problem now is how to get her to write her very long name... Hmmm..

I think I need to shorten it for now..

Need a Mesothelioma Lawyer?

Have you seen the movie "Reality Bites"? Remember that short homeless guy who lived with the roommates, who was later on found to be sick? Remember him now? Well, if I recall correctly, the cause of his sickness is Asbestos exposure. Asbestos exposure is always linked to a very dangerous form of lung cancer called Mesothelioma . And that my friends is the sickness of that small guy. Remember the travel they had to do to help this guy ask forgiveness from his son? He knew he was dying of this disease... I was so touched by that scene. The son was hard as a rock, and the father was guilty and in pain. Well, obviously, It can affect both workers and their families. Mesothelioma is most common in among workers in the shipbuilding industry, construction, auto mechanics, contractors, and demolition. And that little guy's job was at the shipyard.. OMG! And I thought I have become forgetful.. I still remember those facts.. yey...

People who are diagnosed with Mesothelioma are often entitled to compensation, and working with an aggressive and experienced mesothelioma attorney make a big difference. Many manufacturers of asbestos have gone bankrupt over the years and only an experienced lawyer can help victims receive compensations. Unfortunately for that little guy in the movie, he did not consult anyone about his condition. If not for the college students who helped him, he wouldn't know anymore than the fact that he was dying... Like many other dangerous products, the manufacturers of asbestos knew about its dangers before they revealed it to the public. Hmm.. I guess they may be thinking of the bad side telling the truth did to them... As a result thousands of people were needlessly exposed to this dangerous substance. Good for those who were able to find a Mesothelioma Lawyer to help them ease their burden by fighting the battle in court...

SCENES FROM THE NIGHT CAFE

Every Friday here in Cagayan de Oro City is NIGHT CAFE... Food stalls are open where people can eat or drink, as well as a night market of inexpensive goods. There are also bands playing as well as therapists, masseurs and many others. Last Friday, I went with V and Jon2x, the staff of Our Lady of Fatima Therapeutic Foundation Clinic and had our simple BBQ dinner at one of the food stalls there.... After we ate, we walked further to check out the therapists that have made business at the Magsaysay Park... So the pictures in the slide show below were taken on our way to eat at the food stall near McDonalds, and the way after our simple dinner.. Lili took most of the pictures... Oh, and do not be bothered by the diggings you see behind the scenes... Those are underground canals projects by the city government... according to someone I heard talking while we were walking around. Another one said that the roads should have been untouched but because it's nearing elections, projects needed to be served.. hmmm.. I don't want to hear anymore... wink..wink...

Our simple dinner cost us P 476... 4 Chicken Wing BBQ (192), 4 "ATAY" BBQ (72), 4 "ISAW" (20), 16 "PUSO" (hanging rice- P 7 each), 2 COKE LITRO (P 40 each litro)

A Camping Holiday in France

My friend Louisse is now officially a resident of France. Well, she had been married to Jaquesse for almost ten years now and they have two lovely boys, who, like their father, is adventurous and sporty. Such an odd family for Louisse, who I always remember to be a non lover of sports or adventures. Before, I remember that she would often shun away from events or happenings that are sporty or adventurous in nature. See, my friend lives in a pace, at her own pace that is. She likes everything in place, no adventure, nothing physical... That's how I remember her. And that's how I have always known her. Funny that her latest email gave me a peek of her new life. WOW! Love can really move mountains. Because just like anyone who loves, Louisse has learned to love the things she never even liked... all because hubby and kids love doing them. My friend is now an official adventure momma, lol... Well, I am happy to hear that.

So anyway, she was telling me that she is busy looking for a car hire France online to make their journey more fun. They are off to go camping along with her cousin's family who came to visit them. They opted for a camping holiday since it is more economical. They need another vehicle for four more people, so they really need to hire one. On top of that, she was the one assigned to get camping equipment and large tents for the camp. She was actually asking me to help her. Which I gladly did. We found car hire at www.easycar.com, camping equipment and tents at www.savebuckets.co.uk. She can definitely save at those sites... I hope they have a grand camping holiday...

LILI & RIVER'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL...

Here is a slide show of all the things they did yesterday during their first day at Lifetime Study Center..

I love it...

I love what Georgina did with her garden. She added a pond which is connected with the grotto. OH MY GOSH!!! I love the Koi fishes.. I love everything.. It's a dream come true for fairy tale addicts like me and Lili. hahaha.. Surrounding the new pond are huge fairytale figures... WOW! You can almost tell a fairy tale while wandering around the beautiful garden. And the walls are really really gorgeous. Great job the landscape artist did.. I jokingly told her to use the garden as an extension for her classes.. she just laughed aloud and answered that it's actually for her benefit. She's like a kid, this friend of mine, Georgina. Like me and Lili, she is also fond of all the creatures in fairy land... But still my applause goes to the landscape artists.. I can't help but think of them while roaming around the beautiful scenery.
Their output reminds me of the Philadelphia Landscaper I read about the other day.. Well, they are truly good.

HACKER ON FARMTOWN?

I got this message in my FACEBOOK Account. I am one of the members of FB who loves farmtown and when I opened my farm, I received this message form an exclusive source.

Do not hire anyone name Tanner Dwyer (BEEF JERKEY ROXXXX!!!! is his farmtown screen name). He is a hacker. Tell everybody on your list because if someone on your list adds him, he'll be on your list too. He'll figure out your computer ID and address. So copy and paste this message to everyone on your buddy list, because if he hacks them, he will hack you.

Hmmm.. I never thought hackers can also do that on a gaming application...Well, what do you think fellow farmers?

LATEST FROM SCRUBS

Have you heard about the famous magazine for Nurses, Scrubs? I have posted an entry about this previously and I am really happy about all the articles that one can read from SCRUBS that I want to share with you the latest article I have read. It's about keeping oneself younger looking despite the odds.. I am pretty sure you all can relate.

Well, who wouldn’t?. Everybody wants to feel younger by looking younger. Agree or disagree? And I am pretty sure that anyone or everyone here is dying to know how to preserve youthful beauty. Correct or wrong? But of course, I think I know the answer, lol…

It often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. True. But do you know that by simply doing 5 easy steps, one can be able to achieve it? Here’s how they are:

1. According to SCRUBS, we should all Get clean. We should never go to bed still wearing makeup,. We all know that wearing makeup to bed clogs pores, lets toxins penetrate more deeply. Cleansing cloths from Oil of Olay and Ponds make this task super easy. Use and throw away!

2. What my mother and grandmothers always told me.... Moisturize. It is a fact that as we get older, our skin needs even more pampering. After the face is clean, it’s better if not best to absorb a moisturizer.

3.And what everyone of us should have...sleep--- Sleep right. That is self explanatory... Whether one is a nurse or not, this really works.. And if you read the magazine, there are certain steps in sleep that helps make us wake up feeling and looking younger..

4. And this for the romantics.. Be kissable. SCRUBS says, our lips often become dry and lined. When brushing your teeth, give your lips a scrub, pat dry, then apply a lip treatment like Carmex.

5.And here's one that my sister Sweet will agree with---- Tame stray hairs. Nothing makes you look older than ungroomed eyebrows or those chin hairs that would make a billy goat proud. Plucking and depilatories often cause redness, so grooming at night lets your skin calm down by morning.

There are more interesting articles so I hope you can visit the site. You do not have to be a nurse to read those things written there. They are useful and helpful even to everyday life.. Take summer fashion, make up to use and other topics.. Just visit the site and see for your self...

Earthlingorgeous.com's SEARCH FOR 5 EMERGING INFLUENTIAL BLOGS

Previously, I posted an entry at EMPOWERED MOM that this blog, JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG was nominated by Saiza or THE FAIREST as one of her TOP 10 EMERGING INFLUENTIAL BLOGS of 2009, a writing project that is running on its 3rd year, which is actively spearheaded by Miss Janette Toral and sponsored by Absolute Traders, My Brute Cheats, Business Summaries, Fitness Advantage Club, Events and Corporate Video, Events@Work, Dominguez Marketing Communications, Red Mobile, and Blog4Reviews.com.

Unfortunately for my blog, it does not qualify due to blog creation date. Archives show that Just The Tip of The Iceberg was created January 2008.. That's okay.. Being nominated by THE FAIREST & would have been nominated by ...atenean101@Blogspot is already an honor for me..

influential-blogger-header2

So now is my turn to reveal my TOP 10 EMERGING INFLUENTIAL BLOGS... entry posted at Dorothy's Vineyard... I have so many blogs in mind, but I had to choose according to the mechanics. So I had to downsize and downsize, until finally, here they are:

1.) INSIGHTS FROM THE DEMIGODDESS - The blog of my trainer back in SYKES/PINK ACCOUNT. Although she is younger than me, I always find her to be a person with deep thoughts. I see her in her blogs and I am always reminded of how good a trainer she is. One can surely learn a lot from her..

2.) FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HYPOTHALAMUS - The blog of BB Gandanghari. Insightful. Deep and Truthful. I love the honesty in her writing..

3.) AMIABLE AMY - Amy is a long time friend dating back from College at the Ateneo de Cagayan. Her blogs are the very reason I am inspired to make a blog of my own.. It is also in her blogs that I get to know how she is doing despite the distance.

4.) CARING IS NOT ONLY SHARING - The blog about a single mom with three kids and their journeys through food and life (lol). Everytime I feel so low, I read her blogs. Makes me laugh all the time. This blog leaves her readers a light feeling after going through her blogs...

5.) MY RANDOM THOUGHTS - I get new information from this blog, as always..

6.) SPICES OF LIFE - Nancy's blog. She is a Filipina married to a Korean living in the US. In her blogs she gives information, at the same time, gives her audience a peek of different cultures as she blogs about different events and practices. I like visiting her blog because I am always learning something new...

7.) ROSE OBSTACLES AND GLORIES - This blog gives me tips on family life, and views and tips on parenting.

8.) MY WRITTEN EXPRESSIONS - This blog talks about family and parenting and all things familiar yet I always get a new thought or two after every visit.. New perspectives are always welcome...

9.) www.bogieswonderland.com - This is a blog owned by my cousin. She is younger than I am but I feel there is so much to learn through her blogs. What I specifically like about this blog is the fact that it is simple yet heart warming.. Inspirational and has its comic side as well.

10.) A CRICKET IN A GARDEN - Tammy Warren's blog gives me inspiration at everything in life...

So there, that's my TOP 10... Keep posted guys as there may be changes after this is checked by Miss Janette.... This is my first time to participate, so I am kinda nervous and excited about my entry... but I know this is for a good cause...

If you wish to participate in this writing project, click here for the mechanics.

Aside from this, I am also presenting my TOP 10 as my entry for a SPECIAL CONTEST at Earthlingorgeous.com, who is currently in SEARCH FOR 5 EMERGING INFLUENTIAL BLOGS.....

FIRSY DAY OF SCHOOL PREPS

Lili is starting K1 this afternoon. I am preparing the required shoebox wrapped in color blue cartolina to hold her underwear, shorts/skirt, towel and shirt. That's for emergency, in case children in school are not able to go to the washroom at the exact time of need. Nursery boxes should be prepared with colored pink cartolina, while K2 should be in yellow. Although they come in these colors per section, they are supposed to be personalized for identification purposes. So we put stickers and some decorations on her box. We are not finished yet though. I will show you a picture later..
I heard that we should also prepare personalized children's plates during activities that require them, Oh I am so excited. I think I am more excited than my preschooler, lol... As soon as I am done I am going to place everything in a toddler backpack I bought, so she will still be able to bring her things with ease. The other bag I bought is too big. Must be for a grade schooler...

School ends at 4:00 pm, that's an hour wait since my mom gets off from the office at 5:00 pm. I think I should bring nap mats for River and Lili so they can use it while they play at the park. Kinda like a dry picnic.. On second thought, I think we should just go to Jollibee.. Well, we'll see..

MERKADO NETWORK, A SCAM?

This post has issues updated here.

Today, most of us received a comment in our blogs that MERKADONETWORK.COM sent and we discussed about it a bit in plurkland.. Found out that this is a SPAM comment and if you reply, the person will ask you to write a review about their company for nothing. Sounds familiar. Last year, while I was just new to blogging tasks and income. I did not know so much about the ways and means each company operates. So I signed up for buyblogreviews. Like what I said, I did not know how to do it yet so when I had my first opp, i was really happy. Guess who that was? Merkadonetwork.com... So here is what happened. Merkadonetwork posted an ad through the system of buyblogreviews, as soon as I was done with the post, they did not accept it for payment, instead, they sent me a message. and so begun our message thread that lead to nothing..

This is from my buyblogreviews inbox dated 8-24 to 8-26 2008...

I sent a ticket to buyblogreviews and that's when I learned that if it does not go through the system, we bloggers should not write a review. We won't be paid. And that's just what happened. After that, I deleted my post and made sure Merkadonetwork is out of my system.. UGH!!

BUYBLOGREVIEWS REPLY AFTER I SENT MY TICKET: Don't post the reviews until you get a proper order through the system. You should wait till your bid is approved by the advertiser, you get notified through emails and it also shows up in your control panel when your bid is approved.

I learned my lesson, now I am sharing... The spam comments we all received today is just the same as that experience I had last year. See, a plurkpal responded and she wrote a review without pay!!

Below is the spam comments most of us received.

You’re the 1, Goldilocks!

personalized backpacks for kids

Today I have been busy working on school preparations for Zarelle's first day in school in a "real school" on Monday. I got the books from Lifetime Study Center and immediately bought the plastic covers for them. Next, I went my way to Lim Ket Kai Mall to get the necessary stuff she will need. My oh my, people are rushing everywhere... Then I saw that one mother was carrying a bag similar to the woman on my left. Hmm.. That is truly funny. Seeing two or more people having the same or exactly the same item and meeting in a public place with all the other people wearing or bringing the same item, though unplanned.. I still think it to be funny and a little embarrassing. I guess I would prefer buying personalized backpacks for kids if this is the case... lol... But of course, those things can not be avoided. I had a similar experience with a blouse my cousin Neonila and I wore on the same event-- a kid's birthday party. People ended up requesting for our dance number..lol.. So you see, having items personalized will definitely set the tone. Hahaha, but question. How about personalized laundry bags? Are they as popular as the other stuff found at posylane.com? I think that those items will be more appreciated in a mass setting like for example in a boarding house.. Won't you agree? But of course, I truly adore the penny laine baby memory books that they also have... Zarelle said she wants one..lol.. especially the personalized backpacks.. Good thing she still has her never been used old backpack which I bought two years ago... At least now, I can tell her to save... but really, I will think about getting her a personalized backpack...

Problem Encountered: NEED URGENT HELP!

I can not log in to www.darlingaguilar.com which has a WP interface. I can not ask for a password nor ask for a new password. It keeps giving me the error code 12263.. Sought help from blogger friends through plurk.. I will definitely try all suggestions possible...

www.bloggersreview.com

So okay, I have had two posts regarding this company. I have written about the mishap that was soon corrected. Thanks to a wonderful staff that made sure my account is fixed from all the problems I encountered earlier. Having experienced the downside of technology does not stop me from doing what I do best. And I am pretty sure, what I experienced at first is not at all true to all. Maybe it was just a coincidence, that's all. See, when my mind was raising with doubts and fears, my friends were telling me that it never happened to them. So most probably, it was just one of those days when the Internet does not feel like cooperating in the demands of your labor, as well as the company's... hahaha. All's well that ends well anyhow.. Everything back to normal. Advertisers can Advertise on blogs while we bloggers cater to the demands of blog advertising by writing a post or two for a specific advertiser that needs our services. In turn, we bloggers get paid for our hard work. Plain and simple. We also cater to advertisers who would like to buy text links. And just the same we get paid. Who pays us bloggers? BloggersReview will pay us... It is a blog advertising agency which is dedicated to serving clients, the advertisers, at the same time providing a world class customer service to the bloggers by giving opportunities on a daily basis. Isn't that great?

So if you are interested to advertise or to write blogs for an advertiser or two, join us at BloggersReview.Com

CONSIDERING TO BUY A LAPTOP...

Every blogger would like to have his or her own netbook. At least that's what my cousins and friends who are bloggers tell me. One should have his or her own laptop to make blogging life more interesting. Hmm.. True. I definitely agree. But in my case, I don't find it necessary yet. NOT YET. But soon, I think I will need to buy one. Specially when I start working already come July. I would be away from my PC here at the orange house. A laptop would be the very best option, so I can continue with my blogging career.

My blogger cousins already have their own laptops. And they are the ones always convincing me that I should buy my own. Because according to them I could get more out of my blogging experience with a laptop handy at all times.. Yeah, they have convinced me alright, lol..

So at this point, I have taken time to search for the best laptop or netbook that I could find. It should go by the quality parallel to the price of the said item. I searched everywhere and found out that at www.savebuckets.co.uk, one can save a lot when he or she buys a netbook or a laptop.

Beef Caldereta..

I cooked this for someone.... It is her favorite. But, she did not come as she said she would... so, goodbye Caldereta to you dear cousin.. Hahaha...

See the picture? That's what you missed...

Thanks THE HINGE for being the first to comment...

PROTECT YOURSELF...

Have you heard of LifeLock? Well, if you ask me, I read from the Lifelock reviews that is it the best in identity theft protection. We have heard of so many cases of identity theft. This happens when someone takes on another's identity and lives his life, taking all the good from that person, ripping off all the opportunities when it's supposed to be due for the person in question. To give you a specific scenario, BOY A passed the Licensure Examinations for Teachers because BOY B took the exam for him. How did this happen? Well, BOY B just used all information that is supposed to be BOY A's... When it was the real identity of BOY A who filed to take the examinations, that's when everything became complicated.

Online, this problem is very rampant. The direct target is usually on the financial side. Usually the fraudulent use of the credit card or even the paypal account. Or any other money making ventures... But it does not stop there. I have heard of a writer's stolen identity too. Someone writing on behalf of the writer because apparently that person had access to his account. All his writing and contacts gone eventually... That's why it is best to keep your passwords to yourself. You can share other things, but NO SHARING OF PASSWORD. Otherwise, you will have a difficulty in getting back what is supposed to be yours... YOUR LIFE...

FOODIE ALERT!!!

I WANT TO EAT EGG PIE NOW. tsk..tsk..tsk.. Goldilocks is far from where we live.. Maybe later, when I am done with the tasks I am finishing this morning... Anyway, just want to share here that EGG PIE has lots of memories for me. With a slice of EGG PIE, i can already laugh and cry at the same time, or whichever comes first... But right now, I am not into those memories..

I am craving for EGG PIE.. The one at Goldilocks, ONLY! Hahaha...

I am not pregnant or something OK... Just my monthly craving when my visitor is fast approaching... wink... wink... ladies...
