The Exposure

Lili was assigned to sing the school's hymn during the Linggo ng Wika celebration at their school, so she had to wear a Filipiniana costume. It posed a problem at first because we din't know which luggage or bag it was placed, but when we found the dress, we were relieved. To my susrprise, Lili also expressed relief knowing that there are no monitors like those ADAM Audio Powered Monitors at musician's friend that were installed on stage, so she din't fear said exposure.

Inspired!

For the past few weeks, or exactly a month, music has started flowing in my soul. I guess it has something to do with the latest happenings in my life. I am inspired to do so much now more than ever because I feel happier than previous. Maybe in the next few days I would be learning to play an instrument or so. hahaha.. Perhaps even buy french horn mouthpieces at guitar center and all other accessories for a complete masterpiece.

Anyway, I am also writing songs again. So thank you dear inspiration. You make me so happy.

Training The Working Scholar

My sister has been monitoring our working scholar like she is her own daughter. She is actually the one training her for every task in the house. She is quite slow, but I am glad my sister is patient with her. Sometimes she misses a few things, like where to place the kitchen anti fatigue mats, or the aprons or the clothes pins, and all others. She didn't know how to cook anything when she first arrived, but now, thanks to my sister, she can already cook some dishes that she has become proud of.

My sister always teaches her how to be able to learn and accept learning as it is a tool for her growth. The good thing about our working scholar is that she listens and she is willing to be trained. Of course, we always emphasized the 3 Cs in Life. Choices, Chances and Changes-- and she is even more inspired to move forward in her life.

Stressors et.al. Hehehe

Work is stressful with the little time we have to rest. Like, today, I have just finished class which started at 2 pm, and ended at 8:15 straight, with only 15 minutes for recess. Makes me want to simply doze off or climb aboard any arizona bus rental and go just wherever I wish to go. I wish!

But then, since I am enjoying my time with all my students, regardless of their backgrounds, I am relieved from stress. It is my the lady mumra who drive me nuts with all her intrigues and baseless chatter. Well, I simply ignore her crude comments and unworthy remarks. When she speaks about positive things though, and when she is genuinely happy, she is a different person and I almost always end up liking her. But then, the cycle goes on and on and I think about quitting each time.

7 Heads..

I just paid for my 7 heads this lunchtime. Took on a loan because I know I will be joining many others in financial freedom. Well, it would have been cash payment if only the "big man" paid me ontime. Regardless, I know I have made a really good investment and choice. And with the video I found on you tube, I am even more inspired.
What do I have to lose? I get worthwhile products in my kit and I sold some of them, while my family uses them too. It's a call I've made that I am going to stand my ground and do just what I am taught to do--- I will make it! That's not just a conviction, but my declaration. It has been done. I just have to live to see it.. So guys, if you have more questions about AIM Global, you can leave me a message here..

Cleaner CDO

A friend of mine posted pictures of what transpired today from Cogon Market and all other places in our beloved city, and I am happy that the newly elected mayor has really started his clean up drive. Soon we may have postcards of our city and they may be available for printing at zooprinting.com---- I wish! But with a cleaner CDO, I am sure every place can be postcard perfect...

At four in the afternoon, I saw how the cleanup was done at Pabayo Street, but when we passed by the same street at nine in the evening, the vendors were there, and they are known to pollute the streets with the smell of their food, as well as the garbage from their stalls. I hope this street can be made clean too.

Lili's Thank You Note..

Lili's birthday was a blast, although it was celebrated simply with a few of her friends, our family and some neighbors. She received gifts mostly purses, shoes and money and she was happy with everything, even the simple greetings only. My Lili does not need branded items like prada sunglasses or expensive gadgets. She was raised to appreciate everything, although she has her wants too, but she is more concerned with how much one sincerely gives, and thanking persons for what they give.

I got this awesome thank you note cum self-made card  after her birthday..

5 Reasons Chicken is a Super Meat

You've probably heard people say that you should eat more chicken, and a real reason for this exists. Chicken has a lot of benefits, and here are five of the reasons why it is considered to be a super meat.

A Healthy Alternative

Loading up on red meats and pork is not really the best idea because both of these tend to add fat to your body. On top of that, they can really affect your cholesterol and heart health in a negative manner. Chicken, on the contrary, is much better for you, and it is considered to be a lean meat. When you are looking to lose some weight or lead an overall healthier lifestyle, chicken is the meat you want to eat.

It's Versatile

Chicken is also a super meat because it can be used in so many different ways. You can throw some sauce and mozzarella on it and bake it in the oven, or you can chop it up and serve it with a pasta dash. When you have ground chicken, making chicken burgers or chicken tacos is a breeze. Of course, you can make some fried chicken too, but then you are really losing the health value of it. Click here for more fun recipes to try out.

It Pleases Many Palates

When you are having a dinner party or other type of formal reception, you obviously have plenty of choices to make. Deciding what you are going to feed everyone is certainly a decision that needs to be taken care of. Opting for anything too out-of-the-ordinary might mean that your guests are unhappy with their dishes. Fortunately, chicken is a meat that so many people like. When you put it on the menu for the event, you truly can make all of your guests happy.

Giving You Power

Chicken is low in fat, but it also has plenty of protein in it. Protein can really give you energy when you feel that you are in a slump, and it is also good for your health in otherwise. It helps to build up strong muscles and bones, so you'll know that you are really comprehensively providing for your health when you eat it. Protein has such a tremendous role in your body, and you absolutely need it to stay strong and to tackle all of life's challenges.

Kids Love It!

You've probably seen children who love their little chicken nuggets. Even if you do not want to feed chicken nuggets to your children, you can let them know that the meat is chicken. By simply saying chicken, you may be able to introduce your little ones to an array of foods that they would have never consumed otherwise.
When you hear of a super meat, you might not immediately think of chicken. Fortunately, this type of food has so many benefits to it, and you really cannot deny the power that it brings to your dinner table.

Kalayaan 2013: Ambagan Tungo sa Malawakang Kaunlaran

We were told to report to the Capitol Grounds, by our Principal, to attend the Independence Day Flag Raising this morning.  The Misamis Oriental Chorale opened the event with their rendition of a Christian song for the invocation and they also sung the National Anthem while the flag was being raised.

What I find most inspiring was the message of our mayor elect who is currently the governor of Misamis Oriental, Oscar Moreno. It was quite a long message, but I made sure I have captured it on video to share here, when I am done uploading it at youtube.

After which, wreath laying followed, with lots of pictorials to cap the event.

What I love most about today's event is that, we were all reminded that although we are free, we have some responsibility to keep our nation free. Freedom, not only from domination or from outside forces, but freedom from poverty as well as illiteracy.

Handog ng Police Station 1

I saw one of our students holding a plastic envelope with notebooks and all other school supplies, and I asked him why he and his classmates are holding the same loot, all of the same brand.

I found out that the policemen from police station 1 have in fact gathered their resources for a gift giving activity to public schools in the area. And one of the schools they visited with the loot was our school. So that answered my question as I entered the gates of our school. I wondered why a police patrol car was parked just in front of the admin office. I thought there was a problem that needed their assistance.

It was actually them who came and gave our grade 7 students assistance in terms of providing school supplies that they can use for this school year, 2013-2014.

Here you can see police officers giving out more by asking some relevant questions, and each correct answer  was given a prize.

I was not able to get the names of these officers, but I would like to thank them for their sincere efforts in helping some of our students. School supplies are not cheap these days. Some of the parents of our students could not afford to buy them. That is a sad fact..

On our way out, I met three officers holding their banner, so I asked them for a photo for the purpose of this blog post.

Thank you so much dear officers from Police Station 1. Surely, your help for our grade 7 students will go a long way. Kudos!!!

Whew!

I have now an added expense for school year 2013-2014 as I have pledged to send a working student to a four year college course. I do not know how everything will work out, but I know it will. I have paid for Lili's tuition in full for the entire school year, so I guess I will only have to worry about this working student's tuition and monthly fees. Sometimes, I think of taking on a business cash advance and build a simple business to help me earn a few more bucks to help with all the upcoming expenses, but I am not sure if it will be a good idea for me. The struggle is that I have not fully recovered from my medical expenses when I got sick in May, plus the enrollment of Lili and that of the working student, but again, I am positive everything will be okay. I trust the Universe will align my path to positivity and financial freedom.

Being positive about this situation is all I can do, because I know I should inject positivism if I want to survive this..

Congratz Lili!

Today, my Lili has joined the 11th Summer Recital of their music school. I am happy that after only 9 meetings or sessions as she has only started this summer, she can already play the violin.

I was feeling mixed emotion earlier while I was taking a video of her performance.. and I was really very proud when she was well applauded after her performance..

Throw a Children’s Birthday Party – And Don’t Lose Your Mind

When your little one is still little enough to let you take the reins and throw him or her a wonderful birthday party with games, decorations, sweets and lots of friends, it can be easy to get lost in the details and end up going, well, a little crazy. Personalised invitations and party favors that the kids can’t wait to play with are just a few ways to make your child’s celebration one for ages; here are some tips for making it fabulous and free from stress.

Be Accommodating
Unfortunately, people forget to RSVP and then might show up and drop off their kids anyway. Keep your cool, by first making it easy to let you know in the first place. Since even senior citizens are texting with ease these days, let the other parents know on the invitations that they can shoot you a text or an email if it’s most convenient for them. Then, even though you haven’t heard from five parents, plan for those kids being there anyway. Worst-case scenario, they don’t show up and your child can take their goody bags to them at school.

Enlist Help
You might have attempted these shindigs all on your own in the past, but this time, enlist help from your spouse, friends or relatives, both in planning and on the actual day. Your parents, in-laws or closest pals will probably be more than happy to lend a hand, provided you ask well in advance, whether it’s giving Grandma some great gift ideas and some cash and having her do the present shopping or asking your best friend to help plant clues around the backyard for a scavenger hunt.

Put a Price on It
Is there anything you wouldn’t do to see your little one’s face light up on his or her birthday? Hopefully, going into serious debt is one. Set a budget and stick to it, because nothing will kill your enjoyment of the day like dread for the upcoming credit card bill.

Too Early for Christmas List

Looks like someone is already making her long Christmas list and planet waves from musicians friend is one of them. I am not even done with the checklist for the opening of classes but the kiddies are already busy preparing their Christmas related lists---- food, gifts, toys, candies and even places they wanna see by December. I guess we should also list down specific budget per list, hahahahaha...

Well, why not? It's fun to be kids and that will not last a lifetime, only memories do...

hmmm

Last week, while I waited for Lili to finish her session at her violin school, I saw a little kid waiting for his turn for some guitar lessons. Of course, tiny as he was, you can not expect him on a les paul guitar at Guitar Center now, but some more years or so, the kid will surely fit the picture. Just the same with Lili's violin, which is a standard. I knew perfectly that the said size will fit her well at this age already. So I didn't have to spend extra for smaller ones..

Modern Casseroles & Coffee Makers

There have been many advances in modern cookware – just when you think you've seen it all, someone will invent a new cooking device that makes standards like trusty casseroles feel like old news. The reality is that if you are a typical cook and the primary person responsible for daily meal preparation in your home, time-saving devices are a must but anything gimmicky is really not helpful. Many of the fancy specialty appliances take so much time to set up and clean that they really don’t save any time at all.

The one exception is the single serve or on demand coffee maker. No doubt you make coffee every day and it can be a hassle – the scooping and measuring of coffee, the flimsy filters and the messy coffee grounds are just the beginning; brewing a whole pot often means there is leftover coffee plus it’s easy to forget and let it sit on the warming tray too long, only to face disastrous results.

With an on demand coffee maker you brew one cup at a time; the coffee brews directly into a cup, mug or glass so there is no coffee pot to clean and no warming tray to scorch the coffee. The coffee comes in individually sealed coffee packets so you no longer need to scoop or measure coffee or deal with messy coffee grounds. To brew coffee you simply place your cup under the brewing port, select a coffee insert and press a button – in under a minute you have a fresh, hot and flavorful cup of coffee with no cleanup required.
On demand pod or disc coffee makers look like conventional electric drop coffee makers and take up the same or less counter space; they require access to an electrical outlet.
