May is the month for Mothers.. May is the month for me. I just received a wonderful gift from my BFF and partner in crime for life, lol.. And I am happy because I have a new set of Black pearls. I am sure they go well with my Black pearl pendants and pearl bracelets.
I have been collecting pearls since my mother's first pearls that she gave for my graduation in grade school. Since then, I have become an avid pearl collector. I love how you can match it with formal to semi-formal and even business attire. And if you are keen to detail and craftsmanship, a lot of pearls these days have become fashionably transcended. You can now see pearls mixed and matched with lace and ribbons in soft tones and even made into other accessories that one can use to make a dull looking outfit into a fashion statement.
Investing in pearls need not be tedious, laborious and expensive. For as long as you know where to get pearls at a good price parallel to its quality, then you are good to go. Some pearl vendors even sell pearls cheaper when one buys them in bulk. And when you buy bulk, it doesn't always follow that you buy the same color and design as well as the kind of pearl your accessories or jewelry has.
As for me, I always invest in pearls when I can get them cheaply together with my friends who will also purchase a few pieces or strands. Some may get four, I will get three, some 2 and so on and so forth. When we reach a dozen or more, we are given discounts and even more ways of acquiring free pearls. What I can not afford yet though, are those pearls that are really really expensive, like the South Sea Pearls, etc. Oh well, I may not need to have expensive pearls anyway.. I am happy with simple and locally cultured pearls. On the brighter side, I am helping the country and my fellowmen that way..
