DIGITAL FILIPINO CLUB & BLOGGERS NETWORKING IN CDO

Finally, I met Miss Janette Toral in person. She is the famous Janette Toral or otherwise known as THE INFLUENTIAL BLOGGER. Our group, the CDO Bloggers joined the Digital Filipino Club & Bloggers networking event last night at the Philtown Hotel together with all the other IT people in Cagayan de Oro City. This event was made possible by Syntactics Inc. whose CEO, Stephanie Caragos, is a fellow Montessori de Oro Alumnae.

It was a very exciting event since it was a first for me. I also met Mommy Phebie for the first time (cousin of Mommy Ruby of Pinay Mommy Online). And met Mommy Laine again after so many years (gone were the days of the Xavier University Campus Chapel Aides, which means that technically, we are OLD--- lol)...

Anyway, I was really very happy, although I did not win any of the contest freebies... Learned so many new things from fellow bloggers and with the meeting too, I found courage to start over... I also learned about LetIThelp.org, which is an advocacy of our event's sponsor.

Here are pictures from the said event: (Thank you CHIQ MONTES for some of them.. CLICK EACH TO ENLARGE)

The food I got from the buffet:

BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR NASH---

My cousin Anna called my PC today and told me that we are all invited for the birthday celebration of Nash at VenU, near Middleton Apartelle. OMG! Such late notice to find a great gift for Nash... If I had more time, I could have ordered a towel wrap or a laundry bag or a nap mat for Nash... But oh, it's just a few hours away and I have so much to do. I can not just leave the house and go to the mall to buy the gifts--- Darn.. Maybe I should just sneak out later and do gift shopping. There's a small gift shop near Lifetime, but I doubt if they sell anything for kids---- Hmmm... I hope I can find one later...

Lili and River will get off from school at 4pm so we will just go there directly. Hmm.. The two kiddies will surely love it. They have been to so many birthday parties and they always have a wonderful time.

MOMMY MOMENTS: PLAY TIME

mommy moments

This is my first entry for this meme. Sharing here some playtime pictures of Lili....

The pictures below were taken during my nephew's birthday which was held at Play and Learn Center.... The toys were similar and familiar to Lili and River because they had some of the toys at the Orange House...

She got bored one time at the old Honeysweet Location so she took the bag of building blocks and created the one you see below:

And this here was taken when we went to the beach, when she was younger ----

We always wanted the kids to spend some time with the their hands and feet on the sand...

DIGITAL PRINTING

I am really amazed at technology. I love how a simple click here and there can create a wonderful masterpiece. At Honeysweet Learning Center, we are blessed to have such technology that whenever we need something, we can easily have them at hand. Thanks to the machines we invested for digital printing. Truly, it is one of the many treasures at our center. Because it has the capacity for leaflet printing, I have printed our very own leaflets and brochures for marketing purposes. Our printing services was once sought for in the area, but now that we have moved, we have lost perhaps most of the clients that come on a regular basis. A big factor is the fact that I do not have anyone to man the place from 7am to 7pm, and I am totally busy with my career... Anyhow, we still get calls and text messages from clients who really want us to do something for them... For big orders, I would accommodate only if I have the time to help, but if I do not have the time, I gladly decline but would give them to the company I know who can help them best. I guess it's more on a personal usage now---

STARTING OVER ----

It's been two days since google bot's visit. My world here is shattered. Income went down the drain... And believe it or not, I am in the state of shock and depression... Now I understand how it feels to lose a husband in death. Whew, maybe a far out comparison, but that is how I see my money making career, lol... I feel sick and tired, and heavy. I could almost feel numb. But then again, I got opps again. Although the pay is not as high as how it had been, but I feel I will be okay... During the DigitalFilipino Workshop tonight at Philtown Hotel, I talked about this with my fellow bloggers and their only advice is to start over with a new blog. Create a new one with a niche that would earn my way up again. And I think I am just about to do that. Two days grieving is enough for lost PR. I am okay now, I think. And I know it will be back again, months from now... So my dear friends, thank you so much for being here still. PR or no PR, you have been a loyal follower and I thank you for that...

I will still be writing on this blog. After all, this is truly a therapy for me. Venting out my emotions and all. Hmm.. This is like marriage or an intimate relationship. Once it is over, it is over. True, there may still be a chance to reconcile but not at the present moment, so each must part and start over. I am starting over. And I will do better. Perhaps even reach PR 4 or higher--- Well, that is for you to find out later...

Blog some more later... I will need to upload the pictures from the Digital Filipino event tonight...

See you later dearies....

News about K Alliance

Hey guys, I know I have blogged about k alliance, and I have also told you all the wonderful things in the company and the new things I have discovered about them, but here's another one that would perhaps interest you as it had me... Well, I have read an article that says that K alliance is now a member of CompTIA's Network of Specialized Trainers that gained Exclusive Insight into Requirements and Guidelines for each of their certifications. hmm.. sounds great.. CompTIA is a company that offers educators and trainers specialized resources which can greatly improve service to their constituencies, subsidiaries and the like. And like what I said, K Alliance is now a member of this specialized network. Their online training courses reflect the company's guidelines on what knowledge and skills are needed to pass CompTIA's certifications.

For those who do not know yet, K Alliance is one great company that offers one of the most comprehensive online computer training in the market today, and they have an extensive list of video training courses focused on IT certification, IT training, and soft skills. They have been using a unique training delivery model that is multi-modal. What is multi-modal, by the way? Well, by that it means that they are offering a variety of learning models to choose from including CBTs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, online training, and training delivered over the corporate intranet. Hehehe.. I didn't quite get that at first...

As what I have blogged previously, K Alliance have this e-learning system which teaches by the use of training materials developed by world class instructors with years of relevant experience, who work with professionals who bring their real-world experience to the course and offer their insight freely. This come in training videos that are easy to comprehend and are very organized and detailed. One will really be amazed at how easy learning could be. Once training is completed,(we're talking about a K Alliance training CBT here) students can use the K Alliance Master Reviews as a study aid before taking their certification exams. Imagine that? That just makes it all so easy. So if you are interested, please drop by their site for more information.

Now, why am I blogging about K alliance again, and again? Hmm. perhaps, I am just so impressed with this company.... Bravo K Alliance----

Trixie's Blog---

This is way too funny. I found the blog I was dying to see... Thanks to Mommy Iris--- Trixie's Blog at ONLY YOU..

Well, I have been a follower of ONLY YOU. My night is not complete without having watched it. And although I miss it sometimes, MWF specially because I come home late after my classes at BSU, I am still able to understand it the next night as they run a preview of the scenes seen the night before. There is something in the characters that make me think and look at life like the box in front of me... But of course, my life and their lives are way different. I just like to be "kilig" and at times cry when I can relate with a scene or two--- Amazingly, I am also learning a few points, rendering contradictions and seeing life as it should be at the present moment---

And I thought, when I find Trixie's blog, I will be able to read more than what was shown on the show--- Oh well, at least I found it now...

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM FEELING NOW---

I wondered why I got less opps these days, and today, I found out that blog has been visited by google bot and reversed my PR... N/A, however, when I checked with other PR checkers, I still have 3---

I guess it will mean less jobs for PR conscious companies I write for--- but, needless to say, I know it will be back, my PR... it happened before, am sure it will be back again.. Just keeping my fingers crossed... Dear God, I know you are listening, I NEED THIS BADLY... Hope you give me a miracle over here...

I LOVE YOU...

Here's Lili's favorite from Barney's songs....

UGLY SWEATERS

Today I discovered Ugly Sweaters. Well, don't get me wrong. They are not ugly, really. They are the sweaters with big bold designs that makes the wearer noticeable even from a far. And although it is still months away till the holidays, it is actually a good idea to buy Ugly Christmas Sweaters ahead of time. What caught my attention was the Mens Ugly Sweaters. I wondered if I give one each to my brother, my father and the sports dad, would they appreciate it? huh! I don't really know... Ugly sweaters may look silly, but they are actually the most comfortable sweaters to combat the cold during the holidays...

How about giving them to the women and girls in the family? Do you think they will be appreciated? Well, if I will be given one, surely, I will appreciate it. It’s all or nothing. Besides, it will only be worn only during the “Simbang Gabi” (midnight mass) so it really won’t be much of a big deal if the priest will notice your ugly sweater from afar. Right? I mean, the priest will not be so bold as to announce to the entire community that your sweater has this really loud design… Oh well… That is just my opinion…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL CELEBRANTS THIS MONTH...

This is Lili singing you a birthday greeting... Enjoy your day----

TILL THERE WAS YOU

This is such an inspiring take on one of my favorite songs. Sharing it here:

I love how Kristin Chenoweth rendered it.

HAPPY TALK

I saw South Pacific at the Rodelsa Hall a couple of months ago, and this video here reminds me of the scene that was most applauded. Actually I found this in You tube, the scene from the original South Pacific... I am just happy to share it here:

If we want our dreams to come true, we must dream about them, talk about them... Have a Happy Talk... hehehe

OH CARS

My father is complaining because all three cars are having their problematic episodes. And all in time for the rainy season, when they are badly needed. And the sad truth is that, it will be very expensive for him because having them fixed is not part of the car insurance that each have. But just as always, Noel, the mechanic, has constantly been my father's companion these days.

Anyway, don't get me wrong, a car insurance is a good thing. It covers accidents and uncalled for incidents that involves a car or any vehicle for that matter. It doesn't only help pay out for a wreckage, it also helps pay the other party, if you happen to hit another party with your car or your vehicle. The problem of our three cars are one and the same, the breaks. For some reason I cannot explain, all three cars lost their breaks the same day last week. My father found out when he drove my mother in the morning to her office, so he had to drive rather slowly, carefully. He had to change vehicle when he drove us to school in the afternoon, and again, he was having trouble with the breaks, so he went straight to the shop after that. By the time he was supposed to fetch us, he found out also that the 3rd had a problem with the breaks. So he called me and told me that we should just go home by ourselves. This had me thinking, maybe someone out there is out to do us harm by removing all the breaks... Hmm...

Thank God he has shown my father the problem even before it has harmed us. And if it was purposely done by someone, God have mercy on your soul---

FACEBOOK CAUSE ANNOUNCEMENT

I am a member of many causes at facebook. And the reason why I join them is not only because I was invited by a friend to join, but because I believe in them. And because I believe in the cause, I go out of my way to spread whatever is necessary. Such as the info sent to me on my email:

Dennis de Guzman posted an announcement to the cause Fight Poverty & Corruption for a Better Philippines by 2028.

----------------

An appeal to all OFWs to register for the OAV

If the Overseas Absentee Voters' registration period is not extended, there is barely 45 days left for those who have not yet registered to visit the Philippine Embassy or Consulate to register and be able to vote in the 2010 elections.

I know most of us have our reasons not to trust our electoral process, but we cannot just give up. We cannot afford to give up as this will definitely leave our country, again, to the hands of corrupt politicians without us putting up a fight.

Exercise of our right to vote is probably our best investment for the future. It is the best way for us to influence how things will done to achieve the change we want to see.

We are often told that we deserve the kind of government we currently have. If we do not get involved, by registering and eventually participating in the 2010 elections, we will miss the chance to elect the leaders we believe can bring forth the change we dream - a Philippines that we can be proud of once again!

Mabuhay!

(Please pass on to your friends who have not yet registered)

INTERNET SECURITY

Our PC broke down again. We had no choice but to hire a technician to do the job. The technician at Honeysweet informed me that I need to install anti malware, anti spyware and a new antivirus to all our PC for us to have internet security. Well, I couldn't agree with him more. After all, it has been a repetition of what other technicians used to tell us. Internet security has always been our problem ever since. There were times in the past that our PC would break down for unknown reasons, only to find out that some customers have downloaded software or programs that have also allowed the installation of malware or spyware that makes Internet security unsecured for all our PCs, considering that they are networked.

And I thought I will not be able to experience this once again! Whew--- We no longer have other users for our PCs but how come they are here again? Well, here's one painful truth in the cyberworld. No matter how much one has updated and upgraded his or her technology, new technologies are created to replace the old. It is true not only in programs but with most of the things online. New viruses are created every minute. But one need not worry, as solutions are also created parallel to its creation. Ironic, isn't it? A problem is created but a known cure is also created. Well, I think that is how business works in the cyberworld. We just can not stop somewhere and say, "hey, this is it!"... Life in the cyberworld is full of updates and upgrades-- and we have no choice but embrace the new, otherwise, suffer the consequences... I hate the fact that a new virus has destroyed my PC environment. But I thank God for giving us a very good technician who knows the latest in anti-spyware, anti-virus, anti-malware, etc---

THE DANCE PRACTICE...

WE COULD BE IN LOVE

I was browsing through you tube and found this:

I ended up singing... Gosh, I forgot how wonderful it feels to be singing your heart out! wink.. wink..

WEDDING FAVORS...

No wedding would be complete without wedding favors. Here in the Philippines, any wedding one will attend has a wedding favor to give after the wedding reception. Of course, it is much different from the one prepared as bridal shower favors, as the latter is for the bridal shower, which took place before the wedding, and is usually celebrated and attended by mostly the bride's close friends and kin. The wedding party favors are actually tokens given for attending the wedding. Everytime I attend a wedding, I never miss getting one. Of course, ordinary guests get a different wedding favor from the principal sponsors. Principal sponsors usually get something more beautiful or more expensive tokens. And because it is in one way or another important, bride and groom need to include this when planning their wedding. This should also be included in the budget as they do not come cheap you know...
It is often said that how the wedding was celebrated, either during the wedding ceremony or the reception, the guests will remember through the said tokens. So it should really matter a lot if you wish yor wedding to be much remembered... wink.. wink..

CAUTION:

Got this from an email sent by Tita Mila.. Sharing here for your information:

In Taiwan, a woman suddenly died unexpectedly with signs of bleeding from
her ears, nose, mounth & eyes. After a preliminary autopsy it was diagnosed death due to arsenic poisoning death. Where did the arsenic come from?

The police launched an in-depth and extensive investigation. A medical school professor was invited to come to solve the case. The professor carefully looked at the contents from the deceased's stomach, in less than half an hour, the mystery was solved. The professor said: 'The deceased did not commit suicide and neither was
she murdered, she died of accidental death due to ignorance!' Everyone was puzzled, why accidental death? The arsenic is of the U.S. military for carrying rice seedlings H Gao. The professor said: 'The arsenic is produced in the stomach of the deceased.' The deceased used to take 'Vitamin C' everyday, which in itself is not a problem. The problem was that she ate a large portion of shrimp/prawn during dinner. Eating shrimp/prawn is not the problem that's why nothing happened to her family ever though they took the same shrimp/prawn. However at the same time the deceased also took 'vitamin C', that is where the problem is! Researchers at the University of Chicago in the United States , found through experiments, food such as soft-shell shrimp/prawn contains a much higher concentration of - five potassium arsenic compounds. Such fresh food by itself has no toxic effects on the human body! However, in taking 'vitamin C', due to the chemical reaction, the original non-toxic - five potassium arsenic (As anhydride, also known as arsenic oxide, the chemical formula for As205) changed to a three potassium toxic arsenic (ADB arsenic anhydride), also known as arsenic trioxide, a chemical formula (As203), which is commonly known as arsenic to the public!

Arsenic poisoning have magma role and can cause paralysis to the small blood vessels, "mercapto Jimei"??, inhibits the activity of the liver and fat necrosis change Hepatic Lobules Centre, heart, liver, kidney, intestine congestion, epithelial cell necrosis, telangiectasia. Therefore, a person who dies of arsenic poisoning will shows signs of bleeding from the ears, nose, mouth & eyes.

Therefore; as a precautionary measure, DO NOT not take shrimp/prawn when taking 'vitamin C'.

After reading this; please do not be stingy. Forward to your friends and family!!

EDUCATIONAL TOYS

I am a firm believer that educational toys make a difference in every child's life. Apart from children's books, I like giving educational toys as gifts for kids during birthdays, Christmas and all other occasions. Zarelle and River enjoy this benefit too, because whenever I have extra money on ordinary days I would make it a point to buy them educational toys. When they started school, they were already familiar with most of the toys in school.

Educational toys aids in the development of a child's brain. It also helps facilitate in the motor development of the child, not to mention, aids in the fulfillment of his developmental task parallel his or her age. Studies reveal that a child's IQ can be increased by more than 50 points through the proper stimulation in the first 6 years of life. The child already has certain natural skills, but you can help further develop these skills through the power of play with the right developmental toys and educational games. They help improve the child's skills such as memory retention, reading skills, motor skills, eye-hand coordination and math skills.

There are a variety of educational toys that are available for children as soon as they are able to grab or hold onto things. An educational toy can be something as simple as a puppet or matching shapes. Or building blocks for toddlers. These toys prompt the child to think and the colorful pieces that come with these toys make the activity interesting. At an early age, you can actually determine whether the child is a visual learner or not. Knowing the type of learner the child is is also very important. And when the parent is involved and takes time to praise the child when he or she is successful, the child will be happier and more relaxed with learning. Choosing a toy that is appropriate for your child's age is crucial. By determining the child's current developmental needs, both physically and emotionally, then, we can look for the educational toys that are appropriate for the child's stage of development. Like, an infant that is just beginning to learn to focus and grasp things with the hands would benefit from a toy that develops hand-eye coordination. Toddlers, on the other hand, would require toys that focus on stacking and pulling, pre-dressing, and language basics.

I am glad Zarelle and River are doing okay in school... Perhaps, the toys we chose for them were good...

PAYINGPOST.COM UPDATE

UPDATE HERE. RELATED POST HERE. THEY PAID ME AT LAST..

That is a print screen of the new opportunities available at payingpost.com now... But guess what? take more and more opportunities from them and you are just making them richer without sweating it out... Trust me! The people behind payingpost.com are just making money from advertisers without paying a single cent to the bloggers who made the reviews that earned them their money!

CPA ANYONE?

Who among you here are familiar with CPA? Well, if you ask me, I do not have any clue as to what that is. So if you and me do not know these things, how on earth can we be able to go on discussing this? Hmm.. My friend Aleen is the key--- He says, "Make CPA a Snap for You!"... What? Can you please translate Allen... So my dear friend told me about the article he read about "CPA Guru Secrets Revealed"...

I could only nod my head and think.. But quite frankly, I was going nuts just thinking about something I know not--- So I had to consult with Mr. Google!

So what is CPA? It is not Certified Public Accountant as how how we refer to those who help business people do the math in their businesses... It is a process of making money online. Said to work 24 hours a day on autopilot, every day. One doesn't have to put it many hours to get the whole setup, but merely, a couple of hours per day and one could be putting money in the bank!
We make our own schedule, the amount of money that could be earned, depending on how much effort is put in. There's a ready made landing page and hundreds of money making site could be created, which will promote itself. And because that is so, one need not worry about getting traffic anymore. All that is necessary is a computer with Internet access.... That is similar to affiliate marketing, I think...

I AM RESPONSIBLE...

I have always believed in the power of this poem... We should all be responsible for all our actions...

Invictus

by William Ernest Henley; 1849-1903

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate;

I am the captain of my soul.

THE GARAGE DOOR

Do you know that Austin garage doors are sensible and chic? Well, that was what Maya told me. She gave me www.austingaragedoors.biz, a website to visit in case I would like to have a garage door fixed or made. Hmm.. Maya mistook me for someone else. I think she was thinking that I was Sashah, the girl from Detroit, who told her that she wants a fix on her garage door... lol.. When I told her that I do not have a garage door, she jokingly said I could have the guys at that particular site make one for me--- lol... Well, that seems like a good idea actually..

Of course I wouldn't do that. I have no car to keep in a garage. hehehe.. But of course, maybe one of you guys will benefit from this post and from Maya's given information. She said she just had her garage door resized, and she found the best people at www.austingaragedoors.biz---- Best output, less fees. Excellent service, good people for the job!!! Bravo... And Maya's garage door? Ultimately, the greatest....

Thanks Maya dear. I know it will be helpful enough for someone, so I am sharing this here... I am sure you guys will get something from there too---

ACAI ANYONE?

I have been wanting to lose weight for weeks now. I have tried exercising and dieting. So far, I am happy of the results. Although they are not so pronounced. Thank God I am losing weight, no matter how slowly it may seem. That is good enough. I will get there. I am not worried.. My friend Mimi and I spoke last night and she recommends that I take some other supplements to boost the process. So I bought myself some fat burning supplements. But this morning, Mimi sent me a text message saying that I should try Acai Berry. I am not so familiar with it so I searched for more information. I have to know more about the Acai Juice Benefits before plunging into taking it. After all, it's money and time that I wish to be sure of.

I found out that Acai Berry is a fruit that can be found in the rain forests of South America and has been a popular fruit with the people of its native land for many generations. Hmm.. Herbal history there. So it must be good... It is pronounced "ah-sigh-ee", this fruit has recently become the subject of a North American health craze with the introduction of various Acai drinks, health products and weight loss supplements. Okay.. So it must be helpful in my weight loss plan...

For the benefits, I found out that the acai fruit has quickly become a popular ingredient in both health drinks and supplements as many believe it to contain antioxidants which helps improve a person's well being. Acai berries are said to have twice the amount of antioxidants as blueberries and 10 times that of grapes. Ultimately, the reported levels of anthocyanins are 10-30 times greater in the acai fruit than what is found in red wine. And red wine is said to be good for the heart... If one will take Acai berry products, he or she will have increased energy, anti-aging, improved sleep and strong heart health, and many others. There are studies that are bringing more clarity to the role of the antioxidants in acai fruit actually destroying cancer cells. Am sure Manang Bebing will love this information---

Assertions of acai benefits in the last few years have been able to convince many consumers of the above benefits, as evidenced in the increasing number of acai products on the market. Currently, we can find a variety of acai berry products, ranging from drinks with a percentage of acai fruit juice, to freeze dried acai pulp and powder, to supposed weight loss supplements, to alcoholic drinks with an added acai flavor. Although, there has been no research that indicates drinking acai berry juice or taking acai supplements will result in weight loss. Hmm.. What do you think guys?

I was browsing through google months ago and I came upon a site that tackles online computer training and certification. I think I have already posted about that also. Just to freshen your memory, the company I am refering to is k alliance.

K Alliance have this e-learning system which teaches by the use of training materials developed by world class instructors with years of relevant experience, who work with professionals who bring their real-world experience to the course and offer their insight freely.

Now, why am I blogging about K alliance again? See, I have read a news article written by Reuters about K Alliance. It says that K Alliance is now a member of CompTIA's Network of Specialized Trainers that gain exclusive insight into requirements and guidelines for each of their certifications. CompTIA offers educators and trainers specialized resources that can greatly improve service to their constituencies....K Alliance is now a member of this specialized network... That's totally cool! Their online training courses reflect the company's guidelines on what knowledge and skills are needed to pass CompTIA's certifications. So if you get training from K Alliance, you are now "untouchable"... bravo....

SIGNS OF THE TIMES...

CLEAN CARPET

It is always said that a clean carpet makes a very healthy home or office to dwell in, day in and day out--- Well, think about it this way, if Atlanta carpet cleaning will not give you a clean space, dust and microscopic insects could live in your carpet that could cause serious illnesses and disorders, or worse, even death.

Besides, who would want to live in a house with dirty, smoldering carpet that has so much dust and mildew due to unclean practices? Who would want a carpet with all those microscopic organisms that prove to be harmful for the body. You may get a rash or two and you never really account it on a dirty carpet.. If you are that cautious about your health and about how to live a life inside a home with a huge carpet cleaning job to do, call the experts and they will definitely help you maintain the cleanliness for the carpet that wonderfully keeps those feet warm.

And remember, clean carpets keeps kids and pets safe... So mommy and daddy saves a lot of money... wink..wink.. wink... By the way, always make sure you consult with the best carpet cleaners, as many mediocre carpet cleaners are all over--- They take away money but leave behind what was supposed to be lifted from your carpets...

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

FRENCH LESSONS

This is quite comical. Lourmier, my chat friend for a year now, whom I fondly call "French Fries", kept buzzing me and typed assurance vie as if I could understand his language. I buzzed him back and typed assurance vie like crazy... He buzzed me back again and typed assurance vie again. Until, I could no longer contain myself, I called his PC... He answered and spoke in his native tongue. He stopped talking and laughed real hard and finally spoke in English... And guess what? He accidentally saved my YM as his sister's YM. He said he asked his sister to inquire on his behalf, about life insurance as he is planning to sign up for one. His sister works at a coffee shop, in the same building where an insurance company is currently located. With his busy schedule, he could not take care of it himself. So that's it, "assurance vie" means "life insurance"...hehehe...lmao

This is not the first time this happened. Lourmier always like to teach me new words in his dialect. The funny thing now is that, I did not ask him about the word. It simply came like rain... Anyhow, thanks dear. I learned a new word or idea today--- GBU!

4TH OF JULY FOR AMERICANS & FILIPINOS

For the United States, July 4 is the day for their Independence. But years, back, Filipinos also had it as a day in the Philippines designated by President Diosdado Macapagal, the father of our current president, to commemorate the liberation of the country by joint Filipino and American forces from the Japanese occupation at the end of World War II, hence it was called Filipino-American Friendship Day.

The Philippines was a U.S. territory from 1898 to 1941, when it was occupied by Japanese forces, and again by Americans for a brief period after the war. The country gained complete Independence on July 4, 1946. My Lola Viating told me lots of stories about war and the liberation. Including their love story, hers and Lolo Peping. See, my Lolo Peping was a Filipino soldier who fought the Japanese side by side with the Americans. He was one of the soldiers who helped my grandmother's family when the Japanese made my grandmother's house in Tin-ao, Agusan, a garrison, since it was the only big house in the area made of TISA. I think I will have a separate post about that. Anyway, my Lolo Peping was recognized as a War Veteran by the American government. If my grandma claimed the benefits of being a War Veteran, she would have been in the US before she died. But she didn't claim that part of the benefit. She stayed here in the Philippines until she died. She said it was not important. And I think I understand her very well. She loves her country more than anything. And she is proud to be living here till her death.

Initially, the nation's Independence Day holiday (Araw ng Kalayaan) was held on July 4. Former President Diosdado Macapagal moved it to June 12, the date on which the Philippines had declared Independence from Spain in 1898. Filipino-American Friendship Day was created in its place, and it coincides with the United States's Independence Day.

By the way, do you know that July 4 is also the day of Liberation of Rwanda? Well, I found that information today..

BASEBALL TICKETS ANYONE?

I am not a baseball fan, nor am I a player. Baseball is not even my cup of tea... But the sports dad is watching baseball on TV like it is also his game...And I thought he only likes the extreme sport of Skateboarding as well as Soccer..Oh well...He's a sports man alright... In order to be able to converse with him at this level, I did a search about baseball.. Oh boy, I have forgotten what we discussed in college already. Well, that was ages ago anyway--- lmao! I had baseball as one of the sport we had to take for a semester. I remember, it was baseball and swimming under Mr. Padilla. And I clearly remember how many times I was hit by the ball because i refused to run, lol... I got myself a C for that specific P.E. class, and the only C I got for P.E.---if not for swimming, maybe I got an F, lol...

So here is what I found. Three of the world's best baseball playgrounds... Kinda like that Madonna movie about baseball... I could almost hear "This used to be my playground" in the background... hehehe

The photo you see here is a baseball stadium located in Anaheim, California. It is said to be the home ballpark to Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Angels of the American League, and was previously home to the NFL's Los Angeles Rams, now known as St. Louis Rams. The stadium is often referred to by its unofficial nickname The Big A. If you wish to get Angel Stadium Tickets, you can actually get them at an affordable price at ACheapSeat.com, the only place online, which is a professional ticket broker with access to many Angel Stadium of Anaheim tickets across the United States. They provide the hottest deals on premium Angel Stadium of Anaheim tickets every day.

This next picture is the place to use your Dodger Stadium Tickets... Dodger Stadium...It has been the home of the Major League Baseball team since 1962. Do you know that the stadium hosted the 1980 MLB All-Star Game, as well as games of the 1963, 1965, 1966, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1981, and 1988 World Series?

Although, it was built in the part of Los Angeles called Chávez Ravine, Dodger Stadium is also situated on a hillside overlooking downtown Los Angeles, providing spectacular panoramic views of the city to the south. You can also get Dodger Stadium Tickets at
ACheapSeat.com... That will save a lot of money....

And of course, if you have just purchased Minute Maid Park Tickets, you will be using them when you see a game at the Minute Maid Park shown on the photo above... WOW! What a grand sight to see. And going to each of those parks or stadiums come really very affordable at ACheapSeat.com, the best place to have a booking not only for sports and games but also with Musical and all other shows you wish to see...

MY FATHER, MY HERO---

These are awards given to my father by the Philippine Constabulary (above) and the Philippine National Police (below)... But these are not the reasons why I am proud of my father.... I am proud of my father because he is a responsible, loving father (and grandfather).. a good husband to my mother, a dependable brother to his siblings and in-laws, a good son to his parents and in-laws, a good friend to all his friends and people in general... Even if some people abused his kindness already, he would still go on giving---

This is rather late for a father's day post. But I believe, I do not have to wait for a specific day to tell my dad how much I appreciate him. I thank the Lord for giving me the kind of father any son or daughter would wish to love and honor---

Tatay, you are my hero... I love you!

CARS AGAIN...

Ford, the world leader in the Car Industry is a well sought brand not only in the United States but all over the world. Seems to me that it is every man's dream to own a Ford. So this post actually brings good news then.

Well, do you know that you can actually buy Used Ford Cars? Yes, used Ford Cars. And believe it or not, they are the REAL THING still! Lo and Behold.... They may be used at some point but they are still a good car investment if you put it that way. Used Cars are actually good for those who would like to save a lot. Most of these used cars for sale or for Car Lease are of good running condition that could still perfectly compete with New Cars. With new cars come very many paper work, not to mention, more inconveniences in terms of the monthly fees and such. Used cars come very affordable, and definitely less burden for the buyer. Unless of course you buy a not so good deal...

The Party at School...

The two kids enjoyed the birthday party of Juliana at school yesterday--- I am glad they did...
