LOVE THAT FRESH SCENT

My mother always want our house to be homey and sweet smelling. She would often include a home fragrance whenever we do our groceries. But most often, she would settle for those home fragrances that home and beauty products dealers are selling.. One time, my cousin gave her a reed diffuser for her birthday and my mom really went gaga over the fresh scent that it gave off... It was sheer heaven for my mother...

When I moved out of our house to live here in the orange house, she gave me a basket full of home products that included home fragrances.. There were four bottles that lasted me for six months... There was Rain, Berry, Ocean, and Garden Fresh... Oh how I love them too... Whenever we cook something in the kitchen and I do not like the stinking smell, I simply open the windows to let our kitchen breathe.. Afterwards, I spray on a fresh scent. I bought myself a diffuser too but I find it really handy to use those spray variants...

BISA'S BIRTHDAY

Our house helper will be celebrating her birthday on September 3 and I am opting to give her a gift despite her shortcomings(I will blog about them in another post, lol). I know how much she likes to buy a body scrub and other beauty stuff. However, because she cannot afford it, she has opted to use those cheap, sari-sari store bought items. Every time she sees me or my sister, Sweet, buy natural beauty products from HBC or Watsons, she would simply look and stare. Then she would tell me that she wants to buy a bottle each of shampoo and body wash only her money is not enough... So on her birthday, I will give her a surprise.. Kinda like a "pamper me" basket for her big day...I wonder what brands I will be choosing tough...

Anyway, in my soap making class at Alternative Learning Systems, or the old name, Non-Formal Education, we were taught how to make our own products. Natural beauty products are really very easy to prepare and are cost effective too. Imagine, you could actually make a facial mask out of the Avocado or the oatmeal cereal in your very own kitchen. For body scrub, you can use a concoction of brown sugar and calamansi... And of course the ingredients we use for the soap we make as our projects are amazingly natural also... Hmm, that is quite heavenly. The ideal way to save your skin and your pockets, lol... But, if you do not have the time and the passion to do so, stick with over the counter natural products...
