Ready for the Drive

Going on a long drive entails getting the vehicle ready for the long journey.  The driver must make sure that everything is in place. The tires, the rims, the spare, the tools and of course, the engine itself. Most importantly, the driver herself or himself must be ready psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. Nothing could go wrong with a driver that has everything in order. I learned that from my father.

Whenever we go on long trips, I always see how busy my father would be. Preparing for the very trip means getting the cars checked by his mechanic a day or two before the date. On the night before the trip he will check them again and on the very day before we move forward, final checking still goes on. And when everything is in order, that's when we start for our journey.

Of course, depending on our itinerary, we also prepared for our own stuff to bring. And food is the number one necessity that we could never miss, especially on long drives. Now that we have Lili and River, all the more we prepare for kids should never go hungry on the road. Especially if we will go somewhere that does not have much stores along the way..

Nothing beats being prepared..
