Missy Bon Bon in Cagayan de Oro City

The CDO Bloggers were given a sumptuous breakfast treat by Missy Bon Bon this morning. Photo above was what I ordered. That's the delicious Steak Breakfast which costs P 150 per plate, plus a cup of Mixed Berry at P 55 per cup. For dessert, Mommy Laine, Mommy Phebz, Mommy Venus and I shared the Green Tea Cheesecake..

Mmmm...Yummy Breakfast..
Full Mommies, Happy Mommy Bloggers...lol..

Apart from the free breakfast, we were also given Missy BonBon goodies to take home for us to sample inside the very lovely Yellow (blue for some) Missy Bon Bon EnviroBag. Of course, we also bought ourselves some pasalubong for our families as the bread bar was simply irresistible. I bought the Ciabatta and a loaf of Wheat Bread for my parents and other delicious goodies for my little princess.

After our customary CDO Bloggers group photos, in between chitchats with owner, Henrick Yu, and each blogger's random product photos, Mommy Phebie, Mommy Laine and I went back and bought ourselves the famous Missy Bon Bon Gelato.

I had Tiramisu, Mommy Phebz had Biscotti and Mommy Laine had Stracciatella. All our orders in a cup to share, lol.. Well, if you buy a cup for each flavor, I tell you, it will go to your waist, and your pocket will suffer, lol.. But with sharing, you get to taste three flavors all at once. Price for Gelato ranges from P 45 to P 55, depending on the flavor.

To avail of these tasty treats, and many others, go to Missy Bon Bon at the Robinson's Supermarket 2nd Level, Cagayan de Oro City and of course, at Rosario Drive (adjacent to McDonalds LKKS), Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City, from 7am to 10pm daily.

I will be posting more about this event in my food blog at MORE FOOD ADVENTURES and at EMPOWERED MOM.

Real Issues and the Next Philippine President

Election on May 10 is fast approaching. And boy, everyday, I get crazy text messages and forwarded emails from people known and unknown to me. Text and email spammers, I really do not appreciate what you are doing. I end up cleaning spam messages.. Please stop sending them.. As if they are contributing much to my life's happiness and security, lol..

Anyway, here is why you need not send me those crazy spam messages:

1.) I am not STUPID. You can not dictate what I will have in my head, as well as in my heart;
2.) Your SPAM messages are malicious and colored, although they have some sense and points to ponder on too;
3.) I do my own research, and get them from different reliable sources, then, I weigh things and decide;
4.) However you text or send emails to destroy credibility of the candidate you do not like, still, there is something I find annoying about your candidate. So beat it!

Right now, all I can say is that I have not decided any bet for the presidency. So let's just talk about issues and not about candidates. Below are my points of view about the real issues (bogus issues are not at all worth talking about) that highly affect our presidential candidates:

I. Villar's Campaign Expenses:

We all know that Manny Villar is a businessman. And the point on text and in the emails sent to me circled on his expenses for the campaigns. And as a businessman, his capacity to get back his losses during his campaigns, if and when he sits as the president of the country later on. Point taken. And yes, I may agree with you on that. But, isn't it a FACT that ALL CANDIDATES SPEND. And when they win, don't you think that the allegations in the text messages could also apply to anyone of them? I am not Pro-Villar, just wanna emphasize on that!

II. ERAP and the cases filed against him:

I think they are highly irrelevant. He is a FREE Man now and all the scandals and jueteng was never proven to be his misdoings despite the many statements and evidences, real or faked, that had been presented. I am not Pro-ERAP but for me, he was a victim of politics too. I guess he was up to something that really pissed his opponents at that time that everything went bad. He served in prison and suffered, but I do not believe he is at all a bad leader. He just didn't have the right people in media to make him look good no matter how he and Dr. Loi would do good things for the people. As a matter of fact, I have known some medical missions that were never given highlight or the spotlight. Well, I guess WE do not really have to be in politics to serve other people anyway.

III. Gibo Teodoro is often referred in the text message that says, "Magaling, Pero May Kulang":

Well, nobody is perfect. I am not Pro-Gibo, but I appreciate the fact that he and his camp do not do anything crazy or say crazy things against anyone from their opponents. And to be honest, I like the positive attitude that he and his camp display.

IV. Gordon:
I haven't heard of any issues so far. FYI, I am not Pro-Gordon. I just have not heard of anything as of the moment. But, I did receive text and email messages saying that Gordon is the perfect choice compared to 4 other candidates. Hmm.. I will decide on that come May 10.

V. Eddie Villanueva:
No issues so far. But I just know I will definitely NOT be voting for him. I should like to think that Brother Eddie is good at what he does, and if he will sit in Malacañang, I am afraid it will tarnish the goodness in him. Religion and the state are always two separate entities. Anyway, Nothing is definite though. I may yet change my mind..

VI. Noynoy Aquino and The Hacienda Luisita:

Noynoy is urged to solve Hacienda Luisita problems and other related issues attached to it. He is likewise challenged to put an end in its controversy if he wins. While Noynoy's camp says that Noynoy owns only 1% of the said property, his opponents say he should still do something about it. He is often asked about the "Noynoy plans for Hacienda Luisita" and how he is to go about it if and when he becomes president.

You may think I am Pro-Noynoy, as he is the last on this list. But my answer is again, NO! I am not Pro-Noynoy either. I have presented him last in this post of mine, mainly because the issue on Hacienda Luisita is not only Noynoy's concern. It is the concern of who ever sits on the president's seat in Malacañang after the May 10 elections. There are lots of issues revolving around the said Land Issue. And the fact that many presidents have come and gone, still, it has continued to be a problem.

The video below speaks of how farmers have come to terms with the land problem at Hacienda Luisita, and even caused the death of some.

Now, tell me. Is this issue relevant in the coming elections or not? If Noynoy wins, do you think farmers of the Hacienda Luisita can get the land physically and not just the stocks? If Villar wins, do you think the said lands will be distributed to them as how Villar distributes homes and houses for FREE? If Gibo or anyone among the presidential candidates will win, will the farmers get the land as promised?

The presidential candidates I mentioned above may have different platforms. But no matter how we put it, land, not just Hacienda Luisita perse, is an issue even before these presidential candidates were born. And land issues will continue to be an issue, unless what is specifically promised to Juan is given to Juan.

In my understanding, the farmers believe they have every right to fight for what was promised by law, that was never given to them. And what's frustrating about it is that, based on my readings and research, every president that tackled agrarian reform never really fully implemented it according to the law. In fairness to Marcos, he was supposed to be on the right track, but I guess, like what happened to Erap, whenever a leader is up to something , some other issue is placed where fate will decide for this said leader to be removed from office. And the real issue is forgotten or replaced by another issue that the country will be busy debating about.

How many more presidents will sit in Malacañang and still, nothing good happens to a long standing issue? Noynoy Aquino may only have as little as 1% share but he is indebted to the fathers, and the ancestors of these said farmers to give the lands under the laws that govern agrarian reform if he wins. But then again, if he won't win, how will he be able to do that if his 1% share does not give him a voice at the board of Hacienda Luisita.. It seems that this issue is directly pointed at him mainly because he is part of the hacienda itself. But if we remove that fact and focus on the issue of Land reform or the agrarian reform issues of our country, we can see that it is not only Hacienda Luisita that has had the same issues.

Ah.. issues and politics! They always go together...

Tables & Chairs and More

My friend Sam is fond of visiting trade show exhibits. It is in them that she sees lots of wonderful items like table covers or a table top display, or even directors chairs, loungers and many others at a very affordable prices. What's so nice about exhibits is that some wonderful manufacturers and suppliers sell their items at low prices to gain public following, at the same time, they tend to be better products as they are most likely the first batch of products that suppliers and manufacturers alike would present would be clients for more future orders.

Which reminds me, since trade shows are all that helpful, maybe Mary Jean, my friend who makes really colorful bedspreads, should join to let people know that she has so much to offer in the very products their small family owned and family run company is producing. I think it will help her make her ground in the business scene.

Webhosting: Right on Target

When I started blogging, I never really understood what web hosting is all about. In fact, I have continued to be ignorant about it until I was advised by a fellow mommy blogger to get a web-host for my blogs. She gave me some tips to be become successful in E-Commerce business, and definitely, web-hosting is one key factor.

So there I was a year ago, asking questions, reading reviews and consulted with some experts as to know how to do it good. Tips here and there, and everywhere. I followed advice, I learned. I had to to learn everything. And so now, I am a bit doing fine. When I was knowledgeable enough, I also taught others. In terms of success for my online endeavor, well, I am almost there.. But somehow I could say that having been taught has its rewards. My sites are now doing better than how they were when I started them.

But here is the most important reminder: Web-hosting is best when you get hosted by a known host or sponsor that is reliable, and affordable.

Tools That Can Help A Lot.

When I was writing for Shopwiki, there were two tools that I have continued using until today. Why? Because the said tools are very useful for bloggers as well.

a.) The Plagiarism Checker helps a lot especially when you are about to submit a very serious article or post that requires good and honest opinion as well as originality.

b.) The Word Count Tool helps a lot for immediate count of words when MS Word or Wordpress is not used.

I am so thankful for these two as they are really very effective.

Shopping Guide for All...

I have read so much about skating sun glasses as well as skiing sun glasses. There are also mountain sunglasses that is widely talked about online. Then when finally I wrote about Julbo at Shopwiki, I got to know more about all of them that I barely knew about.

Well, Shopwiki is your bridge to anything and everything that you can buy. Shopping is its main objective but helping shoppers shop is its thrust. Imagine being given every information of every products available all over the world, plus a link to where you can get the products you have searched about.. Amazingly, every shopper, whether the great big spender or the budget shopper, will find Shopwiki a great help.

Temporary Tattoos and Body Paint

Temporary Tattoos and Body Paint are fun. They can be worn for fashion, self expression and some, for cultural and traditional reasons. I didn't know that there are yet many designs and complicated tattoos that are readily sold online. When I wrote about it, I really had fun in my research because I have learned so much about body paint products and where to get them. Somehow, I am very thankful for Shopwiki has opened many avenues where information is concerned.

For me, Shopwiki is not only your online source of information. It is also your guide to great shopping where experience is not necessary but will be enhanced. And time is saved so as money. What's more, you get free links to stores with great deals and offers that is a plus in shopping. Products range from clothing, food, supplements, medicine, vitamins, accessories, jewelries, cars, home decors and home decorating equipment and tools, vehicle parts, sports gear and a whole lot more..

Natori on Shopwiki

When I was doing the page for Natori, my research took me to a discovery that the name brand, Natori, was founded and owned by a Filipina named Josie Natori, who believed in the products of the Philippines so much and started her business venture selling Philippine made products, which later on evolved until the Natori Lingerie Line was born. I was so happy with what I had discovered and in fact, it has inspired me.

Anyway, apart from Natori, there are yet many more products and name brands featured in Shopwiki, your online source of information and shopping guide.

Visit www.shopwiki.com for your shopping search and guide.

On Car Insurance

There a lot of car insurance companies, but not all would give cheap auto insurance quotes. Imagine surging car insurance rates that is even more expensive than your medical or health insurance , travel insurance and even life insurance.Gosh!

Some people would say that it is better to get Expensive Insurance Quotes vs. Cheap Insurance Quotes. Because expensive means more for one's investments. But I guess what matters here is the return of investment 10 years after. And if the insurance company is stable enough to sustain the odds. If it's well worth it, then choose it. It's all up to you.

Online Business at Facebook

My sisters and I are selling Beauty Products and Accessories online. We are using my sister Honey's facebook account. I have personally bought a few good products over Facebook and have built some friendships with Facebook sellers. I find that facebook is not only a good source of social network, it is also good for online business.

Apart from that, we are also able to find long lost friends and relatives through the system who are also online sellers too. Well, good job facebook, and thank you.

Waterproofing Basement Walls

Have you ever witnessed a flood? I am sure many of you have seen actual footage and some photos of the recent floods. Some may be first hand experience and some may be able to rescue friends and family from the flood.

During the floods here in Cagayan de Oro last year and the other year, my friends whose houses have basements joked about having an indoor swimming pool for they did not have Waterproofing Basement Walls. So after the rains stopped and clean up measures were undertaken, they all just laughed everything off instead of seeing it differently. After a while, they considered a solution for their dilemma.

Although some of them were never able to salvage some belongings that the flood waters have invaded, and sunk down, they had no choice but to throw them away.

So anyway, if you have plans of having basements built, make sure that you install water proofing basement walls to prevent flood waters. It always helps to be cautious. After all, prevention is better than cure.

On the lighter side, better build an attic rather than a basement. It sure would be more beneficial for all, whatever the weather.

Well, what do you think? Would you agree with me?

SLEEP...

I haven't had the best sleep in a long time. Last night however, I have decided to sleep early and so I woke up early too. I think I was able to sleep for a complete 8 hours. That had been impossible for me because of so many things that had to be done. But I decided. I did and well, I feel totally refreshed..When I went online however, I saw that I have a lot pending and a lot of new tasks at hand.. Yes, they are blessings, so I will end here so I can do all of them within the time frame that I have set.. I intend to have a good night's rest again tonight so I better start my tasks. OH, I still have to finish the site for the Abrogueña Clan as a task from my father.. darn, so much to do, so little time and only one body--- Anyway, that just proves that I CAN! Bye for now..

OMG! Just The Tip Of The Iceberg was PR 3 this morning. After the black out, it's N/A? Oh common.. Is this a joke? Mr. G are you kidding me again? I remember this happened to me before and after 2 weeks my PR came back to 3.. tsk tsk tsk. Mr. G, you know my life depends on my blogging career.. Please don't be harsh! Give me back my PR.. I deserve it!

Anyway, Empowered Mom has PR 3 now from PR 2, and Dorothy's Vineyard has PR 2 from PR 1. More Food Adventures also earned PR 3 despite being a new domain, as well as PR 1 for CDO Extreme.  And Inhale Exhale remained with PR 1. I Blog U CDO also has earned PR 2. And best of all, Honeysweet Learning Center, after a very long time of being unknown.. now has PR 1..

The Philippine National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security

Here's some good news on a Black Saturday. I read from the Yahoo News that the Philippines has adopted a national action plan ensuring human rights of women in armed conflict. And by far, we are the first country in Asia to do so.

By virtue of the power of the Executive Order No. 865 creating a National Steering Committee on Women, Peace and Security to implement United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820 signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, in compliance with the UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820 for member countries to implement a National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.

An initial funding of P5 million taken from the president's contingency fund will be given for the steering committee. Succeeding funding will be from the OPAPP.

Below are 4 goals of  The Philippine National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security:
* Protection and Prevention, to ensure the protection and prevention of violations of women’s human rights in armed conflict and post conflict situations;

* Empowerment and Participation, to empower women and ensure their active and ensure their active and meaningful participation in areas of peace building, peacekeeping, conflict prevention, conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction;

Today is April Fool's Day.. and at the same time, Maundy Thursday. People are busy reflecting while others are busy fooling other people, as per tradition.

Maundy Thursday, or “Holy Thursday” is the Thursday of Passion Week, one day before Good Friday and the the Thursday before Easter. Maundy Thursday is the name given to the day when Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples, known as the Last Supper. This was the time Jesus and the disciples had the Last Supper, after-which, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples in the act of humility.

While April Fool's Day is a day, all over the world where it is okay to play a prank on others, and they do not get angry.

So what did you do today? Did you play a prank on someone or did you find time to reflect?

BLUEHOST

When you are a blogger who needs to maintain a lot of blogs and other sites, forums and even entrepreneurship or business sites, you may want to consider having your site hosted to further its existence in the world wide web. There is always a talk about this every now and then and comparisons are always being made. Suggestions would come as well as criticisms, and from all these, you get to learn from the point of view of people with experience on the matter. but of course, you can always, or you should always verify them through the reviews for each host, or verify the reviews about the hosting from other people online who you can trust.

Have you heard about bluehost? My blogger friend and neighbor told me yesterday that BlueHost is now ranked #2 on our the list of top web hosting providers at www.alreadyhosting.com and the good thing about them is that, they offers unlimited bandwidth, not to mention, unlimited disk space and unlimited domain hosting. And for on $3.95 every month, one gets a free domain.

Hmm. I guess I will have to check on that as I am looking for new hosting for my new domains. But, really, the price and the benefits are good for me. Maybe I will get my domains hosted there.

Going with the Faithful...

A lot of us would feel, in one way or the other, a feeling where we seek inner peace. And sometimes, for some people, having found it means going with it and making it a lifelong vocation.

To walk in the path of the faithful entails a lot of hard work and determination. It entails a lot of lessons in faith, in life and in the doctrines that govern our beliefs. It may be a grueling combat in the classroom still, the application is still for life outside the classroom. And what better way to learn such lessons but with the most experienced and most trusted theological schools in the land. It may earn you a certificate in theology which you may be able to use to teach theology later on or your ticket to becoming one of God's ministers on earth.

So, if you are one of these persons seeking truth, and wanting to enroll in Theology, surely, you may want to check Colorado Seminary for your Degrees in Theology. Being a believer is not just enough. We need to study further and further our studies in faith. That way, it will broaden everything we know and perhaps add or correct what we already know.

4438???

Hey guys, do you have any idea what 4438 is about? I was told that this is something good for all Globe, Tattoo and TM subscribers and Globe & TM users like me and my entire family. . including our household helpers and even my assistants and teachers in our small business.

I was told about it by a fellow blogger and she mentioned that we will know what 4438 is all about on April 4, 2010.. Hmm.. 4 more days and I will know.. but quite frankly, I can not wait any longer...

Ever since I have been with Globe, I know that if they have something BIG to wait for, it will really be something BIG! I wonder what this is this time. Free calls abroad? Free domestic calls for a year? hehehe.. Freebies that have their logo? Will it be a contest to win us millions? OMG! WHAT????

Anyway, I know it will be burdensome to prolong the agony of such wait, so I just had to look for added information online. The you tube video was all I found...
Perhaps we can get hints from it..

I guess we just have to wait huh? 4 days to go.. counting....

Station of the Cross

Lili and I have been doing the station of the cross since she was 3. It was funny when she was younger because she could hardly pronounce words to sound the way they should. You know how it is with children, "yungit".. but I try hard not to show her my amusement because I do not want her to feel laughed at. That would have a great impact on her personality. That is why, she is eager to learn. Unfortunately, sometimes she becomes shy to the point that she do not want to participate anymore.. She just likes to hold my hand as we walk through the different stations.

This week, we will not be able to do the station of the cross because we can not leave the house. The window jam had to be replaced, but the carpenter my father commissioned to look into my concern will come on Monday yet.. So I guess, our station of the cross would be done indoors.

Grandma's Dream

Teddy's grandma dreams of going to Las Vegas. At 75, her only dream is to experience a game at the casino. But Teddy tells her that USA casino is better minus the cost of leaving her home to play a casino game. But of course, apart from the game, she would like to experience ho it is to be in Las Vegas. So Teddy joked that she should just practice at the site since online casino is similar to playing actual casino games. Lucky for him, his grandma agreed. But only if he will teach her how to do it. Which is not a problem actually, since he had been playing at the site since teh day he discovered it. He says that unlike all other online Casino, USA Casino is better and more player friendly.

pet seat protectors

Guys, do you know that your pets can now enjoy your company without you worrying about the aftermath of their joyride in your car? Well, pet seat protectors are the very helpful tool or accessory in this process.

At least now you need not worry about follicles of hair falling from your pet's body, and unto the couch, or the car seat, or the sofa, as the tan and black dog seat cover can easily be secured with elastic bands, keeping it in place, and in place all the time.

The protector, as you can see, is lightly padded and made of durable 600D Oxford fabric. It has a PVC coating. For aftercare, rest assured that you can easily have this cleaned as this dog car seat cover is machine washable.

Now, one very good idea that this pet seat cover is made for, apart from protection from dogs, is the fact that you can also have this worn by someone who is not as equally clean as most of the people riding the car or the guests you have has just finished fighting with the bull, lol, or fresh from the beach, the extra passenger is terribly dirty and wet. This is also a good protection as you protect your seat from other dirty travelers, keeping it free of dirt, stains, and spills.

Gifts for Mother

Have you thought of the gifts you will give for mother's day? Most of us may opt mother's day flowers to give our dear mommies. But of course, there would be other options. You can actually choose any brand named fragrances or chocolates or even jewelries. The choices are endless.

Some can be as creative as making their own cards or baking their own treats to give. Of course, whatever gift is given, I am sure mommies will surely appreciate.

Focus!

Getting what we want in whatever endeavor entails a lot of concentration and focus. We must stay focused on goals to achieve them. Otherwise, we will end up in circles and actually not finish what we want to finish. If that is your dilemma, then obviously, you need to improve concentration and at the same time improve focus. It takes quite some practice and effort, but it sure will be worth it in the end..

Intelligence & Intelligence Boost

Do you know how to activate right brain thinking? That said part of the brain is for creative thinking. And if you know how to boost intelligence in creativity, it would surely benefit you all the way. Being creative is not limited to the arts and art appreciation, it entails a whole lot more. In fact, being creative can enhance whatever aspect of life that can somehow make a difference in the world..

Interruptions???

Can you possibly enumerate workplace distractions in your office? Because if you can, then you will be able to deal with distractions thereat. And when you do, work output and productivity will surely rise and work flow becomes automatically fast and effective. If distractions and interruptions are eliminated, or if they are non existing in the office, the workforce will have more time spent for the job.

THE NEW GREEN REVOLUTION

Imagine waste-water sludge and bio-organic waste transformed and made into alternative energy.... Can you even think it's possible?

Before I even tell you, do watch the video below:

Align Center

N-Viro International Corporation develops and licenses its technology to municipalities and private companies. With the use of their patented processes, they are able to convert waste to energy. So if we even think about drought, less produce in the market, polluted rivers and seas, fishes dying in water and many other environmental issues brought about by global warming and the ill effects of poor waste management, I am sure that like me, you will rejoice at this information. This technology that will help turn waste into renewable and sustainable energy surely deserves our praise..

For a comprehensive review, do visit www.nviro.com for more information.

Short Player..

This is a table hockey game at Hiros in Gaisano Mall. River and a classmate played with this after having done with all the rides his tokens can allow him to. To play this game, two players need to spend 2 tokens and the game table with matching scoring machine will turn on.

River and Paolo played thrice and although River was quite short, he was still able to enjoy himself.. Lili and I watched as the two battled of them seriously played..

Sarah the Flag Collector

When you walk inside and around her home, you will notice that it isn't just the American Flag that's hanging. In fact, she has an entire wall converted into a display area for miniature US Flags, all 50 state flags to be precise. She even has some military flags too. At the end of the curbed hallway, another wall was converted and on it are other flags from all other continents of the world. Wow. What a hobby, flag collecting is so colorful and educational. At first I thought Sarah's house is a flag museum, but since they are just miniatures, then it does not qualify.

Seeing the many different flags made me wonder where she got all of them, and counting.. Sarah says she still has many more coming.. My friend Sarah has been making friends with people from all other parts of the world. And she requests each of her friends to get her flag miniatures in exchange for other stuff that are only found in the Philippines. And some of her friends are still in the process of sending that is why she said more are coming..

Then it hit me, if you want to buy the real flag and have no idea where to get it, would you ask a friend to buy it for you? I searched online and a website seemed to have answered it. The site, www.united-states-flag.com, seem to be the only site to look for if you need help in finding all kinds of flags. I read from reviews that they are, by far, the largest flag distributor in the world. The flags they distribute come in a variety of sizes and types to choose from. You can actually get from them, state flags, international flags, military flags, custom flag designs, flag cases and other accessories to choose from.
