I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE SAME WOMAN THREE TIMES

This always brings tears in my eyes...

The poem written by Ninoy for Cory that Jose Mari Chan made into song:

I have fallen in love
with the same woman three times;
In a day spanning 19 years
of tearful joys and joyful tears.

I loved her first when she was young,
enchanting and vibrant, eternally new.
She was brilliant, fragrant,
and cool as the morning dew.

I fell in love with her the second time;
when first she bore her child and mine
always by my side, the source of my strength,
helping to turn the tide.

But there were candles to burn
the world was my concern;
while our home was her domain.
and the people were mine
while the children were hers to maintain;

So it was in those eighteen years and a day.
’till I was detained; forced in prison to stay.

Suddenly she’s our sole support;
source of comfort,
our wellspring of Hope.
on her shoulders felt the burden of Life.

I fell in love again,
with the same woman the third time.
Looming from the battle,
her courage will never fade

Amidst the hardships she has remained,
undaunted and unafraid.
she is calm and composed,
she is God’s lovely maid.

NO CLASS AGAIN!

After the 10 day vacation, we received a school billing for each Zarelle and River. Whew-- The price of Education! Can't complain. My daughter is doing well. Although she is the youngest in their class, I know she is doing well for her age. But of course, when I think about NO CLASSES, I begin to think how much loss there is. I feel sorry for those students who always feel happy and liberated if there are no classes. True, it will be a break from the usual routine in school and at home, but it still does not justify the cost of education, Specially now that everything is expensive. My goodness! What are these students thinking? That money grow on trees???

When I was a student, yes there were times that I rejoiced whenever there are no classes. But that's usually during breaks--- not emergency breaks and such! When we think about lost schedules but the cost that needs to be paid is still the same, students should think again. Who is winning, and who is losing? After all, education is a business. A business for the school owner, yes. But it is also a business for the parents and the students themselves. Why? Of course, going to school is an investment. It is a premium or a capital that one can bank on after graduation. Students, I guess for now you will not understand this, but when you become parents, you will understand what I am talking about...

Tomorrow is another unplanned holiday. But of course, it is to join the nation in mourning and taking the former President to her final resting place... We are in mourning, so I hope you will not rejoice again as there is NO CLASS tomorrow...
