Congressman Klarex Uy had been very helpful to the members of the indigenous communities here in Region 10. My mother, who is in charge of the educational scholarship program for students/scholars belonging to the different tribal groups in the region along with her colleagues had a meeting with the congressman and the checks for the dependents and scholars were also given during the same day.I remember, from the time my mother started getting busy with the educational scholarship projects in their office, NCIP, my sisters, Sweet and Honey and I would always help our mom with encoding reports and all other documents for documentation and reporting. There were also other congressmen in the region that supports educational projects and believe me, typing names of scholars is not a fun job since there were really many of them. So much entry to do. On the contrary, it makes me happy to know that the said entries are students who deserve a chance at life by being given the chance to go to school. So to Congressman Klarex Uy and all the others, on behalf of the tribal youth, MY HEART FELT THANKS...
I am not a scholar under this program, but I am a PROUD member of the MANOBO TRIBE. In fact I am 50% Manobo only, but still, I believe that my roots deserve recognition in the totality of my being... I hope one day I will learn all the Manobo Tribal ways and practices so I can teach the world and share the culture... One day that will be a reality...
